Customers are pleased with Evolve's unique gameplay and teamwork aspects, finding the action-packed experience enjoyable. However, some feel the game is lacking in story and content, particularly a robust single-player mode. The controls also presented a challenge for some players, requiring time to master.

This game is ok at best. Character choices and customization is mediocre. 3 monsters and 4 hunter types. Each hunter type has 3 characters with different weapon load outs. No single player campaign. No story. It's left for dead with a new skin, and no content. It's fun for a little bit, but soon becomes repetitive. 5 game modes to be replayed over and over online, and offline, just so you can unlock the next character for a hunter class, or new monster. The game is worth $30 tops as it stands right now.

This game was different from other FPS. It really requires team work and communication. Lack of single player dropped the rating for me, but amazing multiplayer.

Great game to play with friends. It requires a lot of team work, but when it works it's great. It's a beautiful game. There is some grinding, but its not too bad.

This game is immensely fun. Play 1 of 4 different Hunters as you work together to take down a giant monster. 4 v 1 ez you say... wait till the towering monster chucks boulders at you or snatches you out of the midst of your team. More fun when playing as groups and with friends but the game is also fun solo, as the monster, hunting down your unorganized prey. mmmmm delicious

It's hard to play this game solo but that is Evolve's only setback and it's very minor. Despite the controversy surrounding this game (Day 1 DLC - $79.99 worth of content not on disc) it's a great game to experience. I recommend playing this game with a team as it is a collaboration with your best gamers. This is 4 v 1 and it is quite fun. You can totally play this game solo but sometimes you end up either the Monster or a random on the Hunters side. Communication is key in this game and this is why I suggest playing with people you enjoy playing video games with.

Bought this game after seeing the awesome trailers and advertisements for it. The graphics look great and atmosphere is intriguing but was looking forward to offline play which led to disappointment. When playing offline its only a single player game while the rest is handled by NPC's. Was really looking forward to having friends over and all playing together on a team at once rather than all on seperate consoles in different locations. All in all it is a challenging and fun game but as a mostly offline player this one fell a little flat

Admittedly, I've come to this game later than most, which may affect my overall opinion of it, especially since it's an online-only game. The core concept of having one incredibly strong monster facing off against multiple hunters attempting to put it down seems novel, but the reality is that the team of hunters, being weaker, can only win through teamwork and knowing their roles to successfully bring down the monster. That said, I would recommend this game to those who can wrangle together a team of friends who likewise have a shared interest in this game. If you play with randoms, you may find the experience frustrating at times. Also, it must be said that there's a good bit of additional content locked behind the DLC paywall, so that might be a deterrent for some as well. As a final consideration, with the game being online-only, you will find that as the game continues to age, its community will continue to dwindle accordingly. In this brave new world of online-only console games, it's a factor to consider in terms of a game's overall value, as the skill level of the remaining participants, combined with the diminished community, could create conditions that are less than fun for the new initiate.

I really loved the Left 4 Dead games and Evolve has really taken big steps to really evolve the multiplayer shooter (no pun intended... just no better word for it). Each class is unique and playing as the monster is a total blast. The main reason I'm giving it 4 stars is due to the fact that I ran out of things to do relatively quickly. On top of that, none of my friends are willing to put Destiny or COD down to do something different for once.

I really liked the concept of this game, and when I played it I was not disappointed it was fun fresh and an all around good time......but after playing it long enough running around in circles chasing a monster it did get repetitive. I also tried one player mode witch is a joke... This game was made for online multiplayer.

This game is a lot of fun and is very addicting. It is different from most online games in that objectives completed (or not completed) in one level will seriously change the landscape of the next levels and the more levels you play the more these changes compound on top of each other. Very innovative. My only complaint is that there is not a wide variety of mission types so it can be a little repetitive

Unique idea putting a team against one player and having them battle it out. No story mode at all its strictly a multiplayer game kind of like titanfall so if you don't have subs for ps4 or xbox you're going to have a bad time. Level of fun is directly based on how well you know your team. If you've got a group of friends playing this you'll thoroughly enjoy it.

The idea is great, however the game gets very boring and repetitive very quickly. You will be bored in a few days or a week. There just isn't enough variation to make it interesting. Also, there is NO story whatsoever.

Since there isn't really a story line, basically set up like Titanfall's campaign mode, there isn't much feeling of a need to play this game continuously. You can pop in for a match or two and then get back to your cooking dinner, doing homework, or return to work after your lunch break. The matches can get pretty intense, so don't get me wrong it is a fun game, though if you do not have a group of friends playing with you it may take a while to find that group or person that puts up a good fight. I do enjoy the game very much, but the base game is lacking in drive. There is really nothing there to keep me playing for more than just a short while. So unless you are a hardcore matchmaking player, this game will seem very average to you as it is for me. Though for the $7.99 I paid for it it was definitely a game I would recommend.

The only complaints I have, are that there is no true singleplayer, story mode, or campaign. I also think it would have been better to have new characters later on for free instead having to pay for them. But besides those 2 things, the gameplay is great! The game is everything I hoped for, in terms of multiplayer.

Evolve is a decent game for multiplayer action. The game is fun with a group of friends. However, in single player the game is barebones. It feels like the game was made to promote the sell of DLC to fully experience the game.

Playing as a monster is great. Controls are interesting but the gameplay is pretty good, progression is slow. Playing as the humans is pretty similar to multiplayer, just on a more grand scale since the monsters are huge. All in all, I'm looking forward to finishing it. The world itself is beautiful.
