Ive only found one tv in which theres an issue. It controls the channels but not the volume or actual television. That tv is an old model with AV ports. (Probably one of the first with an hdmi).

He’s been using it ever since and is very happy with it! Neither of us are tech savvy and setup was a breeze. It happened to be on sale when I made the purchase so that was an extra bonus!
