I also own a firestick, 2 Nvidia Shields and 2 Xi boxes, i rank this at the bottom just below firestick, you get what you pay for. One positive is the remote.

The Roku stick needs to mounted on TV and in line of sight in order to receive the remote signal, that is the only disadvantage to this model. The previous older model that I had worked from behind the TV where plugged directly into the HDMI input

I bought two of the Roku Express 4K+ to replace two of my older 2017 Streaming Stick 4K+. The problem I was having was with playing 4K content from any source including my Plex server. Even though they are 4K devices, 4K content would buffer for long periods of time and the ones that did load would error out after a few minutes of playing.
I was hopeful that the updated device would be able to better encode the 4K content since it should have some updated specs, but unfortunately it still has the same problem.
Over all if you just need a basic device, it’ll do the job, but just because it’s 4K doesn’t mean it will handle 4K content well.
If you need an actual device that handles 4K content well and just works, buy an Apple TV, remember you get what you pay for.

Other devices accessing your network, such as other streaming players, computers, game consoles, and mobile devices may effect the quality of your network connection. You might want to temporarily stop using any such device and check if that makes a difference.
We recommend connecting to a 5GHz wireless network for improved network strength, if you haven't already. Alternatively, it may also help to manually change the wireless channel. (You can find more details about how to executive this linked in the FAQ article above).

This review is for the manufacturer rather than the product. The player itself is very good. However, this purchase was a replacement for a player that was less than 6 months old that failed. It took many hours of research just to determine the correct Roku RMA procedure. After I finally was able to contact Roku via Twitter, it took 6 weeks and countless tweets and emails to get Roku to provide the return instructions! I had to pay return shipping for a player under warranty! And since Roku would not send the replacement until they received the failed unit, that added another 10 days to the total of just under 2 months. This purchase was for a temporary replacement during the return process. I was planning to return it once I received the RMA replacement, but now I am keeping it as a spare in case one of my other players also fails. Beware the Roku Customer Service and Warranty !!!!

I was told by the best buy agent that I would be able to use a keyboard and download my own browser in this unit. and it's NOT possible so I am disappointed. bare minimum it streams and I'm not paying Xfinity. the rubber is already tearing on the directional key pad

Runs Hot! It's a small box, and has two connection ports. One is an HDMI the other is for power. HDMI is a connection used in most, well, all modern TVs. If you take a look at the photos, you will see how well I described the outer surface of the product. Happy overall.
