Nice addition to my patio for cold nights

I live in a townhouse in Georgia, with a very large patio space. I have been wanting to find something to keep us warm in the winter, because they have been fairly cold in recent years even in single digits. Being able to still sit on the patio when it’s chillier outside has been a goal of mine. I thought about a fire pit, but I do have a dog and would be concerned. I also have been wanting to put a speaker outside as well. Insert the Farenheit Infrared Tower Heater! I will say that putting the stand on took much longer than I would have liked, and in my opinion may require someone to hold the unit. It’s like a puzzle piece, that also has to be perfectly aligned with the holes for the screws and try to balance the unit itself. I plugged it into a grounded socket as instructed outside. It’s surprisingly lightweight, and a great height. Please make sure to follow all Instructions for safety! I do appreciate the fact that there is a turn off feature if the unit falls or is tipped over for any reason which is reassuring. I had some difficulty getting my phone connected, but once I did you have a lot of color customization options, and the sound quality for the music was better than expected. I noticed the unit heats up very quickly and could be felt about 6 ft away. I cannot wait for cold fall/winter nights to get the best usage out of this. I was able to fill most of my patio checklist with just this one item. It’s a must have for function, setting a cool mood, and staying warm.

As someone who loves football, loves grilling, and loves being out in my backyard space, this tower is an incredible addition. The temperatures haven't dropped so far as to be able to REALLY tell how effective it is, but it does seem to put off quite a bit of heat. The LEDs are very cool and provide a nice touch, especially matching it to my team's colors. The bluetooth speaker portion has some good volume to it and a nice sound. Don't expect it to be as high quality from a sound perspective as a high end bluetooth speaker though, but it will do well without having to worry about another device. Make sure you have an outlet nearby wherever you want to put this tower. It is quite heavy with the base attached which is great for being resistant to falling over. It also has several nice safety features to prevent fire or injury if you accidentally bumped into it. I am very excited for some late season tailgates to run this from a generator and see how it performs outside the stadium!

Does not warm like you might expect

The TL;DR of this review is that in my opinion, it just doesn’t offer the warmth or heat you’d expect. Not even close really. The overall design of the heather is very nice, something neat and cooler to look at and use than traditional propane or infrared heaters. The unit is basically a two piece base that is mounted to the main center column using allen screws. I will say, the two piece base is a confusing design choice. The base plates are nice and heavy and sturdy, but why they decided to machine them into two parts and have you assemble them to the main heating unit is weird. It basically requires you to have two people around to assemble the base to the heater, not ideal. Once assembled though the heater is nice and sturdy and at no risk of falling over unless it’s pushed over, or out in very high winds. The heating element runs up the center, and it’s surrounded by a felt like material, which they say is to help with the cool touch feel when using. It definitely works. During and after use, the main column never gets burn inducing hot, in part due to infrared vs gas heating, but also due to this material. At the top you have a nice LED light fixture and a 4” speaker. To use the light and speaker features you need to download the accompanying mobile app. The app is very bare bones, nothing too polished or anything. Connecting your phone for the first time can be confusing because there is no clear indicator how to do it or any UI prompts that indicate what is happening. I had to read the instructions for the app to find out where to go to pair my phone to the heater. Once connected though, you get some neat controls over the LED light, and you have a bunch of different color and ambience settings to choose from. You also get an onboard EQ for music, and the music quality is decent, even at higher volumes, especially if you roll back the Bass a little bit. In terms of the coolness factor, that is where this heater shines. Where you’d like the heater to shine however, is where for me it sort of fails. It is infrared heat, not gas or electric fan heat so you are not heating the air around the heater, the infrared heats up surfaces like people and objects instead of the air. Just using it on our back deck in about 50 degree temps, the maximum distance we could feel the warmth being emitted from the heater was about 2 feet, and really only feeling nice warmth and heat when about 1 foot away. And this was on the 1500W setting after letting it warm up for about 5 mins. It’s just not practical at all, to expect to only feel the warmth within a distance of 2 feet. The only way I could imagine these working better, is if you had multiples of them in some sort of semi-enclosed space. Just using one unit in a modest open air environment is not going to do anything remotely close to warming you or your friends and family.

A Good Start To A Promising Product (3.5 stars)

I initially had some reservations about this product. But after speaking with their support, a fast resolutions came about, and I was optimistic about their promises for future upgrades to the software for this model and upgrades to future models. Let begin with packing. I don’t know why we’re still using the foam packing that breaks into little tiny pieces, scatters everywhere and sticks to anything with a static charge. I brought this up to support as simply an annoyance. They heard my concern and advised they were looking into alternate packaging. Putting the product together was relatively easy. It’s only three hex screws and a supplied hex wrench to attach the base. I would recommend putting Lock-Tite on the threads to keep them from backing out, as this is a concern with any outdoor furniture with screws. The base is solid and heavy, able to withstand a considerable amount of wind/force before the heater would tip over. However, if it does tip over, a shut off sensor will turn the device off. The product appears to be made solidly. It feels sturdy. The footprint is much smaller than I expected and its aesthetics are modern without stand out too much. MAKE SURE to remove the foam inserts protecting the heating element or you’re going to have a smelly, nasty mess. As stated before, there are three features that this product has: - Infrared space heater - Bluetooth Speaker - RGB Lighting System Infrared Space Heater Of all the capabilities, this is probably the easiest to use and best quality. The heater has a rotating knob with three settings, Off, Lo, and High. That’s it! It doesn’t need to be more complex. However, with it having the capabilities to run the Lighting System and Music System off your mobile device, I was a little surprised that the heating system was not accessible. The heat it produces is ok. Keep in mind this is an electric system with no blower, so the surrounding area will get adequately warm, but it will not travel far past the heater. I do like the “cool touch” case surrounding the element. It provided a little peace of mind when little ones were around. Bluetooth Speaker Don’t expect high end quality from these speakers, but for what they are, it’s adequate. The app is a little clunky when try to adjust the system, but again, this is something I brought up to support who advised updates were coming. On a side note, the instructions say you can link multiple speakers together. I only have one so I am unable to test this capability, but it’s intriguing. RGB Lighting System Pretty cool “scenes” that you can set including “candle” and the ability to have the lighting change with the music. It’s a little dimmer than I expected, but overall it’s a good mood setting. I think the app for the lighting is could use a little finishing touch, but it is usable. Overall this product is a really neat multi-use device that looks nice and works adequately. I like the idea and I hope the company can make modifications to the design of the app in the future. Their customer support and belief behind their product was top notch! If you’re looking for a cool device for your outdoor entertainment area, I would recommend this.

I liked these a lot more than I thought I would. The look makes it seem like a microphone, a fun look. The Bluetooth speaker and the light adds a lot to the traditional deck heater, making these more of a year-round device. Unpacking these, the heavy baseplate comes in two pieces, but it's still far easier to have someone's help to attach them. The app for the towers installed fine and allows you to adjust the lights to many different colors, flashes / patterns or music match color changes. Also some equalizer features to adjust the sound, which is welcome, because the speakers by default do sound a bit underwhelming tone wise, adjusting the settings helps a lot. I have two of the towers and synching the speakers and lights is automatic. Just pair one of them to your phone, turn on the speaker/light switch on the other one, open the app, and it will synch right up. Now onto the heater. Two settings, 750w and 1500w. There is a thermal safety cutoff that will turn off the heater if it gets too hot, and a tip over safety feature that will turn off the heater if it falls over. Its an infrared heater, so it heats objects and not the air, so perfect for open areas with wind movement. The low setting works well sitting near the heater, and on the high setting, you can feel the heat quite well sitting back from the heater 3 or 4 feet. It's omni directional, so best used by sitting around the heater, i.e. heater in the middle of the group. I recommend this unit wholeheartedly and look forward to using my covered but open deck longer into the winter months this year.

I received the Farenheit - 68" infrared Tower Heater with Speaker in September. unfortunately where I am located it is still 90-100 degrees. I did test it out to make sure that everything worked straight out of the box and these are my initial reactions. so far it has been well worth the investment, I have found it to be fairly light and easy to move to where I need it. its a bit tall, but definitely manageable on my own. the heat that this thing emits is really great, I couldn't stand by it too long, but definitely heated me up quickly! it is really easy to hook my phone up to the Bluetooth speaker, I first tried it without the app, then with. I love that you can change the color to whatever mood you are in, or even have it cycle to multiple different colors, definitly great for an outdoor gathering. I couln't keep it on too long because the mosquitos were definitly attracted to the light. So I would need to only use it once it has cooled down enough to not have bugs. I would highly recommend this to anyone that loves to entertain outside!

Fun addition for our front porch

Living in the Midwest, our season is changing and temperatures fluctuate from hot to cold in a matter of hours at times. I have always wanted a heater for our deck and front porch, but I never wanted to risk using anything with actual fuel. Farenheit created a very nice looking tower heater with music functionality, making for a useful and fun device. The installation was very simple and straight forward, requiring that only be base unit be installed to the bottom. The base is solid and fairly heavy creating a solid platform for a tall unit. Be sure to remove the foam insulation pads before turning it on for the first time, or they will burn once the heater is turned on. The device operates as a light and speaker separate from the actual heating element. Once the mobile application is downloaded and the unit is paired with the application, it can be easily controlled from a mobile device. While the remote on the phone shows a power button, the heater cannot be started without the power switches turned on from the physical unit. It simply acts as a restart button. The remote allows for connectivity and a volume control, while also providing for several lighting scenarios. The lighting can change the color of the light, change it to flashing, allow for fading in and out of several colors with manual and scenario based lighting. The heater itself is strong enough to be felt from several feet away, and has a low and high setting. The sound is descent for outdoors with a fairly good range for volume. The application also provides for an equalizer with eight predefined settings and controllable bass and treble settings. I have enjoyed more time out on our porch since adding this tower heater and have truly enjoyed the features offered.

Just want to get started by saying customer service is awesome, our first tower heater unit arrived broken and within 2 days of contacting the customer service company they promptly sent a replacement of this Farenheit - Infrared Tower Heater, I can say I am immediately impressed that this tower heater has the ability to play music as well as heat up outside. The tower heater itself is not so powerful (heat wise) but it works for well for me, and where I have it on my outdoor deck. Setting up the heater (building it) was a little difficult you definitely need two people to help with this the Bottom base part is fairly heavy and you need A second person to hold the actual tower, but we got it done! You can download the app to control lights / sounds which is so cool that you can switch that right from your phone. I would recommend to not leave this outside long term and just bring it out when you are using it. I’m not sure how it would hold up with the rain/snow + fall weather. I would recommend this!

There is so much to like about this Tower Heater. There is so much potential here. Unfortunately, it's still 95 degrees in Texas, so it's not exactly easy to give it a fair test, but I tried my best. Got the heater out of the box and all you have to do is screw the base plates onto the bottom of the heater. Not that hard, but you have to stand the bottom of the heater up so you keep a good grip while tightening the screws. On upright and plugged in, make sure you take all the plastic protectors off to avoid the heater burning the plastic. I almost turned it on before I caught myself. The heater has a low and high setting. Heat kicks out pretty well on both settings and can heat up a room quite well (AC on blast). The tower also has a automatic turn-on function if the heater gets knocked over, or overheats (More on this later). To get the speaker working, you have to download the app and then connect the Bluetooth from your device. You can adjust the light settings based on your mood, or even on the beat of the music. There is also an equalizer setting that you can adjust based on the type of music, or manually. So, what's my issue? When on the high setting, the heater turns off about 30 minutes after being turned on due to overheating. It occurred twice while testing it. When I tried the heater on low, it never overheated. Now, I tested this heater indoors with the AC on. It's nowhere near cold yet here in Texas, so maybe it won't overheat outdoors during the winter. I called customer service during the day. I received a voicemail stating I would receive a callback. It's been 5 days and I'm still waiting for the callback. Hopefully, it'll be ok outdoors when it's cold. Once, I like the potential, but I can't recommend it if I don't know for sure it run longer than 30 minutes on high.

Effective heat for close outdoor settings

Aesthetically the heater just looks pretty cool. The RGB light at the top can be changed to virtually any color desired. The Infrared heating element can not change colors and will always be red when the heat is on (in case anyone was curious) The heater has two settings, 750W and 1500W. I tested the intensity of both setting after 20 minutes of use. At the 750W setting it was able to increase the temperature of surrounding objects by about 5 degrees F at the 1500W setting it was able to increase the temperature or surrounding objects by about 10 degrees F The effective radius of the heater seems to be approximately 8 feet. Infrared heat is dispersed through the contact of it's light against other surfaces. It does not heat the air, only the objects around it. Infrared heat is easier absorbed into water, and since our bodies are around 80% water, our exposed skin should react quicker to the incoming heat than our clothes or the chair we may be sitting in.  Because different materials are effected differently to infrared heat, the material used around the frame of the heater don't heat up that much. It's not exactly cool to the touch, but after prolonged use of the heater, you can easily touch the frame without any uncomfortable heat to it. I have noticed that the only portion of the tower that does get somewhat warm is the metal portion at the base of the light, above the heating element. The heater does have a tendency to shut off from over heating at the 1500W level, if it's in an area of use that is somewhat enclosed or already  fairly warm. It's a safety feature so don't worry you can turn it back on in another 10 to 15minutes after it resets. The great thing about using this type of heat outside is that no matter how cold the air is, you will still feel the warmth from it's direct light. Of course the heat absorbed from the light can still be countered by some of the colder objects around us as well. The speaker adds some additional use to the heater. If you download the Fahrenheit Tower Heater app you can stream any audio from your phone to the Tower Heater. The app even has an adjustable EQ with custom and preset options. The speaker does get pretty loud at max volume. Even though the app has a bass boost feature, the bass honestly is not that noticeable. The audio itself is pretty clear and still sounds ok. The RGB bulb at the top of the tower has a lot of cool features through the phone app, to set manual lighting effects and colors, or preset options which include candlelight effects, music control, heartbeat, sunset, and other more. There are 12 preset lighting scenarios to chose from. Overall I think the tower is pretty neat, and works fairly well, but you might need a few of these to effectively cover a large area, or have some other additional heating source, i.e. a fire pit or something. Plus I would like to see an upgrade in the speaker system to handle more bass.

I really wanted to like the Fahrenheit tower heater. The concept is good... a tower heater with a Bluetooth speaker and RGB lighting. Initially, the app wouldn't find the tower heater. Then I realized I was rejecting access to location services, which kept the app from working. So for me that's one star gone. There's absolutely no reason why this product should require location services. Once I allowed location services, the app found the heater and everything worked as advertised. The speaker is actually pretty good, and the lighting is nice. The volume and lighting are both controlled through the Fahrenheit app. There's plenty of volume and the sound is just fine for your patio or deck. So, why only 2 stars? While the speaker and lights are nice, the main purpose of this product is to provide heat. Even with the tower heater on high and on an evening that was in the low 70s, unless you were standing within a foot of it, you couldn't feel any heat coming from it. Maybe on a night that is cold there would be more contrast and you would be able to actually feel the heat, but I have my doubts. When the weather gets colder, if I can feel the warmth coming from this heater, I'll update my review. But in the meantime, I cannot recommend this product.

Warmth, light, & sound: it’s good enough at all 3

This product from Farenheit is a pretty interesting concept, combining an infrared tower heater with a Bluetooth speaker and an LED lamp that is controlled via an app. While the heater function does provide warmth, you need to be fairly close to the unit to feel it (within around 6-8 feet). Also, the speaker gets plenty loud for a medium sized outdoor space, but the sound quality isn’t that great, with some audible distortion on the highs and lows. There’s an app that lets you control the colors and patterns of the light, but the various flashing/pulsing options are a bit harsh and frenetic, and there’s no way to adjust the brightness. For controls, there’s one knob near the bottom that activates the heater – either high, low, or off. There’s another switch near the top that activates the speaker and light – both turn on together (even if you set the light to be off during a prior session). It's nice that you can use the heater independently of the light and speaker, and vice versa. The device itself is a bit heavy, and while assembly is really just attaching two base pieces to the bottom, it is awkward enough that you’ll probably need two people involved. Also, be sure to take out the foam spacers – it may not be obvious that they need to come out before use. Overall, this will probably make our patio a bit more comfortable, and the speaker and lights are a bit of added fun. I’d recommend this product for someone who wants some warmth, some sound, and some light for their outdoor space, and is okay with something that's good enough at those three features, but not exactly the best at any of them.

The box that showed up to my house is very large, and the bottom had some sharp things sticking out of it; turns out thats the base that needs to be installed, so once removed from the box, it was necessary to flip this thing over to assemble the base, kind of dangerous. There are lots of plastic spacers keeping the front grill rigid, so dont forget to remove those, like I almost did! Anyways, once setup, this thing looks impressive, the light on top is kinda different, and being able to pair it with a bluetooth source is an interesting addition for an outdoor heater.. Of course there is an app, just like every other device now a days, and you really need to download it, to enjoy all the features this heater offers. I saw a previous customer said this thing shuts off after 30 minutes on high, which seemed kind of unusual, but I tried that right away, running it in my AC cooled family room, since its still too hot in phoenix to test a heater outside, and I found a similar bug; after about 35 minutes, my unit also shut off, and I had to wait awhile for it to "cool down" so I could use it again. Also, it doesn't really "blow" the heat out very far, so not sure if it will do much versus what my propane heater does for my patio once it cools down enough to use it outside. I like the lights, the speaker, and the look of the heater, but I dont think its worth the retail price, especially if you need to warm a larger area. I will revisit this review once "winter" actually comes to phoenix, but this wont be my first choice for heating my patio area at this point, especially at this price point.

I got this infrared tower with speaker about two weeks ago and am very excited to prolong outdoor time and entertaining on my deck during football season this fall. It is pretty large but was packaged securely and very easy to assemble by attaching the bottom plates which are surprisingly very sturdy considering the height and center of gravity. It does not feel unsteady at all. The heater has two settings, Low and High, and gets very warm. I placed mine upwind so when the breeze comes through the houses, I get a nice feeling of warmth instead of chill. So relaxing as the fall breeze kicks in. Connecting the speaker to bluetooth is easy and there is an accompanying app with equalizer, connect settings, and lighting settings too. It has a rainbow of colors to choose from and different lighting modes "scenarios" if you want to scroll through colors, flash, and my favorite for a relaxing ambiance candlelight mode which has a soft yellow orange color with a gentle flicker. Pretty cool! The sound quality is good and can be tinkered to your liking with the equalizer in the app which I recommend doing for the best sound outpt. Overall I am very excited to get more use out of this new infrared tower and be able to enjoy the outdoors a little longer this fall.

So Close to an Amazing Product

Let me start by saying that I was so excited about this space heater, as I think this is such a great product idea, however, I feel the execution was lacking in almost every area. A speaker in an outdoor product used for entertaining that can be synced up with others made this what I thought would be the ultimate product for outdoor venues, but it misses the mark. First, this is a product used for groups, not for individuals, so I feel the Bluetooth speaker, versus having a WIFI speaker, misses the mark. If the person streaming the music or other content form their phone leaves the area, everything will cut out, and also, you will be plagued with notification sounds from their phone. A WIFI speaker would solve all of this. Additionally, I can't get the speaker recognized by Google home, making it even more limited. Next, the sound quality is severely lacking. If a device is intended to be synced with other siumi9lar devices to increase the number of speakers, they need to be speakers that sound good. This speaker sounds terrible, especially in heavy bass. If another version of this were made with better speakers and Wifi connectivity, I might buy 20 for my outdoor event venue. As it stands, you are better off buying a $90 infrared heater and a nice Bluetooth or Wifi speaker separately, as you will save a ton, and get better quality. My final point, but the most important point, is that there are no child safety elements. The knob to turn on and change the heat is at the bottom of the unit, such that any child of any age can turn the unit on. This is the worst element to this product. I'd say it is a great infrared heater, but this element makes it feel unsafe, and I had to completely remove the knob to turn it on so I can leave it on my back porch and not worry that my 1 1/2 year old won't turn it on and burn herself or just leave it on and waste a ton of electricity.

Bought this thinking it would be great for our backyard patio and we are not disappointed. We tried it out last night and it provided enough heat for those of us sitting next to it. We love that is has a speaker and lights that we can control with an app. Our friends that were over want to get one for their place and we are thinking about getting another one to put at on the other side of our area to get heat from both sides. Very cool design.

UPS driver was just as excited as me to see this package. He made me promise to let him know what I thought of it.. I have to say that I'm not thrilled at all. The styrofoam barely made the journey. The base plates are pretty solid and did most of the damage, they placed a small thin piece of plywood on one side but the other side blew out of the box. Assembly was a tad difficult and I'm very mechanically incline. My best advise if alone or doing this solo is to prep the bases on a nearby table, get the hardware and supplied allen key ready, stand the heater upside down and hug it with one arm and grab the base with one screw hole with the other. Place it on the bottom of the heater and with the other hand carefully line up the one hole and thread the screw down snug but not tight. Do the same now with the other piece of the base and put it together like shown, take time to line up one of the other screws and snug it up, then after the final screw is in tighten it all up tightly. The next difficult part is the app connection. I tried so many times that I lost count, At one point I tried backing out of the app and it connected. The app is very simple to use but pretty basic. The colors are pretty neat but the music sync is horrible and doesnt match any beat what so ever, the flashing is strange and doesn't feel right. The speaker has no depth and sounds worse than my Samsung phone. Does it light up, yes. Does it play music, yes. But neither are anything to write home about and feel very gimmicky to me. The infrared heater on the other hand is fantastic, although it is summer time here in AZ so it's already hot. But I feel like it will put out plenty of heat, downside is that it only has two settings for temperature. I like the light the heater emits as well. Overall it's a cool looking heater, I don't think I would use the speaker ever and the light, maybe on a solid color or something.

    Quality Control Issues

I was looking forward to the Farenheit 68" Infrared Tower Heater With Speaker, but quality control issues doomed this from the start. The first unit I received would not heat. The upper light and BT speaker functioned just fine, but the heating element was non-functional. I tried to play around with it to see if I could somehow get it to work, but it was to no avail. The company contact was very professional and responsive. They immediately sent me another unit. At this point, I'm back on the positive side of things, thinking I happened to get the one dud they had and that the new unit would fix the problem. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The new unit came with interior screws that were missing. This meant the top part of the unit (with the light and BT speaker) could not be securely affixed to the main body. Due to the location of the screw holes, I could not correct this issue, either. So, out of two units, I could not use either of them. I will say again, the company rep was excellent to deal with and very responsive. That's a huge positive. But it simply cannot overcome the quality control issues I experienced with these heaters. I hope my experience is the outlier, but I cannot recommend this product.

This product barely works. There is "some" heat when you sit right next to it, but if you are even 3 feet away, the heat is imperceptible. And whatever heat you do feel is not nearly enough to sit outside in even 65 degree weather and feel cozy. The app as well is absolutely horrible , there is no feedback at all if its attempting a Bluetooth connection, or if it failed or succeeded. This the 1st app for a product I haven't been able to do anything with. I wouldn't trust the app on my mobile, because it doesn't seem to be doing what its supposed to, so not sure what it actually is doing. I am not sure what else we can say here since it doesn't perform its main function - heat, and does not perform its secondary function - app controlled speaker and light. The packaging was fine, and the build quality seems to be good as well. The base is solid, doesn't looks like it will tip over easily (important if you have young kids). The wire seems to be of a decent standard as well for the amount of power this is going to draw. But I can't recommend this especially with the experience I have had.

Picked up this today! Its perfect for our balcony and just in time for fall and winter! The speaker on it is really nice and has really good bass. I like the color changing affects!
