>> Overview
The Farenheit Flame Fire Pit 17.5” has delivered wonderful surprises, and perhaps I am a little biased now that have used it for a few evenings straight in the patio while drinking some hot beverages or enjoying some wine, and ended up liking it a lot. Wood burns to ashes, with very little residue left. There is almost no smoke (well depending on what type of wood used), this was one attribute advertised to which I was skeptical, but not anymore. You can sit close to the fire pit to enjoy its warmth or stand up to get the most “heat” out of it. There have been no burn marks on the floor so far, which has been another surprise. We are definitely planning on taking it on our trips to the beach and campsites, as it is easy to store and to transport.
- Pros: easy to transport and store, intensive and complete burn, easy to clean, basically no smoke.
- Cons: none so far.
>> Setup and first use
The box comes with the bottom base stand/container and the top main burner/container along the carrying bag and the metal handle/rod for lifting and moving the device around. Once taken out of the box, just place the bigger top part on top of the smaller bottom one and you are set to go.
For our first fire, we went with some semi-wet and dry wood. I placed the wood in a pyramid shape at the center of the fire pit and used some newspaper pages to start the fire. In a few minutes we got a nice fire going on. After the fire and once it cooled down, it was easy to clean as there was not much debris left. The metal showed some discoloration, which is expected according to the manual. We were highly pleased with the fire pit on our first use.
>> Burn
We’ve tried different kinds of wood, and also, semi-wet and dry wood (yeah I know, why dare using wet wood?). Wet wood was mostly used to determine how well it did at minimizing smoke, and incredibly, smoke was highly reduced when compared to experiments we did in the past with wet wood. Dry wood just burns with no smoke, it is impressive. It looks like the design of the little vents all around at the bottom and top of the device makes the difference by providing enough oxygen to the fire. There was a even a point in time during the burning that it got as if the flames were coming from the vents around the top inner part of the device, I assume it had to be the extra oxygen coming from those vents into the ongoing fire, just unbelievable.
The wood burns completely, with very little residue left. These evenings have been somewhat cool/humid here in the Pacific Northwest and after using the device there have been few very little pieces of charcoal left with a small quantity of ashes in the main burner/container, and just a tiny layer of ash dust in the container/stand below (I was expecting way more ashes in the lower container, almost nothing there). I was very impressed by this, I wonder if it is the air flow from the vents that cause the tiny pieces of ash to dissipate in the air and as a result minimal residue is left.
One would think that the device leaves burning marks where it is placed, but no, so far we haven’t had any burning marks on the patio floor. I am sure it gets hot under the fire pit, but not too hot to cause burns underneath it.
>> Size/capacity
This device comes in two sizes, and we picked the bigger 17.5” one, which is perfect for creating a good size fire; although, we are still trying to figure out what is the max load the fire pit can take and how big a fire can get. Given that it has air flow holes on the inner lining towards the top, any wood close to it starts burning faster, so it looks like wood below the line of vents or perhaps in a pyramid on the center are the preferable configurations.
That being said, if space is limited in your car, then perhaps the smaller version might suit you better if your intent is to use it away from home.
>> Storage
It comes with a bag that is in handy for the purpose of storing the device somewhere where exposure to moisture is limited. Since we are using the device a few times a week (before we get into the constant rainy days), we keep the bag near the kitchen area for easier access, almost no one notices it.
>> Cleaning
There is very little debris left after burning, so there is not much left to clean. We’ve just used a brush and duster to get rid of the ashes and that’s it.
>> Rust/Care
We live in the Pacific Northwest and my main concern is the potential rust on this device. The manual states it is stainless steel, and it is not considered rust proof. We have decided that after every use, and after the fire pit cools down, to clean the fire pit (get rid of whatever ashes are left), place it in its carrying bag, and store it somewhere with less moisture. We are not leaving it outdoors overnight to fall prey to the high humidity in these areas.

Fire Pit Fun for everyone

>>>>> Bottom Line Up front: <<<<<
==============================
The Farenheit Flame 17.5 Fire Pit is a fun and easy way to add fireside fun to almost any outdoor or family activity. Thanks to its simple and relatively light weight/compact nesting design, you can easily move it around and take it out with you “on-the-go” - so long as you have a normal/standard sized car trunk to bring it with you. Smart ventilation holes built into the fire pit’s stainless steel exterior pieces really help cut back on excess smoke once “settled in”, but still expect normal levels of smoke when firing it up from a cold start.
==========================
> Overall Design/Aesthetics: <
==========================
The Farenheit Flame 17 fire pit has a simple “nested” 2-piece design that just works. The “smaller” bottom section just simply sits inside the “larger” top section and the Flame also comes with a removable “fire pit handle” and a storage/carrying bag to boot. Both the upper and lower pieces feel study during handling/setup, and the carry bag seems more than durable enough (with decent stitching) to last for a good while under normal usage conditions.
From an aesthetic standpoint, the Flame fire pit is comprised just a simple silver colored stainless-steel pit that has a sort of a “eggshell” gloss finish to it in my opinion. I ‘m not sure how many folks really put an emphasis on how “sleek” or shiny a fire pit should look, but this one certainly looks the part if that high on your list. That being said, that same semi-glossy exterior finish was super prone to finger prints. You can see in my photos, just simply handling it to set it up left thumb and fingerprints all over that nice exterior. Additionally, the unit I had seemed to have a minor manufacturing defect along the bottom rim of the top section just below the “Farenheit” logo. The slight bend/dent to the exterior in no way effected the performance from what I could tell, but just kind of detracted from the overall clean lines and appearance, especially being right under the logo (see the pictures for yourself). At the end of the day, this guy is supposed to be used to set things on fire, so all of this may have little relevance as the weeks and months wear on.
====================================
> Personal thoughts /Usage observations: <
====================================
With the cooler fall days now finally upon us, my family and I were super excited to take the Farenheit Flame 17 out and put it to the smore roasting test. For the record, our family goes tent camping – a lot – so we are used to getting our firepit “experiences” at a primitive campsite or at the occasional hotel that happens to have one for guest use. In my time with the Flame 17, we have only used piñon wood logs so far (mainly for the anti-mosquito properties) and the Flame 17 firepit has performed flawlessly. Sure there is what I wood consider “normal” amounts of smoke for the first 10 mins or so while the logs are starting up, but after that the ventilation design does a good job of reducing excessive smoke compared to many of the outdoor open style fire pits we have used in the past. I imagine if you’re using more “green” or “fresh” wood tinder/logs you results would vary – but overall, we were more then satisfied with the minimal smoke output once it got going.
Back to smore roasting test … we fired it up in our front porch and invited some friends and family over to roast some marshmallows and hang out by the fire pit. Thanks to the Flame’s wide 17 inch diameter, pretty much everyone had enough space to get their marshmallow going, and comfortably fit about 5-6 people within the warmth “radius” of the fire pit. You results may vary, but the 17 inch size was great for our party. From what I could tell, the high wall design of the upper bowl limited some of the radiant heat produced by the fire from spreading out to the sides a little more (compared some of the open ring style fire pits we are used to), but was more then adequate to keep our party warm in low 50-degree weather. Two things did come to our attention though … 1. The exterior gets HOT – not super-heated/molten lava hot, but enough that you should obviously watch the little ones around it as it can burn them if you/they are not careful while getting their roast on … and 2.the upper bowl holds a surprising amount of ash in it based off our time with it, and if you’re not careful when adding more logs/fuel to the fire pit, you can kick it up pretty easily if you’re not careful.
I personally didn’t find the retractable fire pit “handle” very useful, as I can simply just lift the bowl when the time comes to clean it out, but I guess its nice to have, or if you need some extra help managing the moderately sized base on your own. Storing the fire pit in the bag is a pretty straight forward affair, only keep in mind you may need a bit of coordination to slide in the nested pieces into the bag on your own. All the ash cleans out easily enough with a simple dump out and wipe down with a moist cloth or towel, but I can help but wonder how long the exterior edges will hold back from rusting if you’re leaving this outdoor for long periods of time.
==========================
>>>>> Closing thoughts: <<<<<
==========================
All in all, we really loved the Farenheit Flame 17 fire pit. It has let us experience some of our favorite outdoor camping activities at home, and then some. For use, the real gem is that the Flame 17 is pretty portable by our standards (at about 20lbs in weight), and we can take it with us to our friend’s house, our favorite park, and some of our favorite campsites that don’t have dedicated fire pit of their own. I happen to not be a fan of the fingerprint prone exterior (it’s the OCD techie in me) – and the dent in the front managed to slip by Quality Control at the factory (the shipping seemed have no damage) is somewhat of a bummer. As I previously mentioned, I do worry some about long-term ability to fight off rust the more that we use it. Given the Farenheit Flame’s sturdy overall construction, we believe that as long as we store it indoors while not in use and hold back from being overly rough with it; it should last for many enjoyable years to come.

Works great. Burns hot, make sure to use dry wood like with any fire pit.People complaining wood doesn't fit are doing it wrong. Comes with a bag to keep it dry that works good. People complaining that its not smokeless, there is no such thing as a smokeless fire. People complaining about how hard to get in bag are also doing it wrong. You turn it upside down and put bag over top of it. You're welcome.

Pros
Stainless Steel
Base store in pit for smaller size
Carrying bag
Vent holes on bottom help burn wood better
Doesn’t require tending to fire
Has less smoke
Stand doubles as ash tray
Works with pellets
Base isolates heat from ground improving safety
Cons
2 obnoxiously large logos on small fire pit
Low smoke free design only works for part of burn
Ashes only partially drop to ash tray
Fire pit is tricky to get in bag
No tool included to tend to fire if needed
Says not to use logs over 10” which is smaller than standard
Double wall noticeably reduces heat output from sides
Still requires storing in dry place to prevent rust
Design
The fire pit is a two-piece design. The base fits inside the pit to reduce size during transport. The base has ventilation slots to improve airflow from the bottom and serves as an ash tray and. The burn pit portion is a double wall construction with holes on the outside bottom and at the inside top to increase ventilation and presumably burn the fuel more completely with less smoke. Both the top and bottom portion have two comically large Fahrenheit logos cut out, so everyone nearby knows how made it. Included is spring loaded tool for carrying the pit when not in the bag. While the spring-loaded function seems unnecessary, it gets the job done. The carry bag is made of canvas with a slightly rigid bottom.
Setup and Performance
Setup of the Fahrenheit Flame from the bag is easy enough. Just grab the spring-loaded handle and lift the unit out. Remove the handle and pull out the base. Once you have the base in place you can reinstall the spring-loaded handle to lower pit onto the base. You must make sure the locating ring on the top matches with the base to ensure stability, but that isn’t very difficult. Once done you remove the handle and get started.
You can load it up with pellets or logs, but the logs should be no more than 10” long. This is a bit odd because standard logs for fireplaces or even logs at campsites are normally cut much longer than this. This means starting with logs will require cutting down standard sized logs after purchase or awkwardly placing the logs standing up in the pit higher than recommended. This reduces performance of the low smoke design as smoke will increase if the logs are above the rim.
Lighting in calm conditions is easy as the ventilation holes allow good airflow to stoke the fire. It gets a litter trickier with even a moderate breeze as the flow through design tends to try to put out the flame initially. If you have worked with fire pits before the process is still easier and quicker than normal. Once things get going it doesn’t really require much, if any, tending as the airflow ensures a complete burn.
The design and double wall construction is both good and bad. The good is it reduces the amount of smoke greatly, particularly with green wood. It also makes tending unnecessary. The downside is the low smoke function only works when the fire is at it’s hottest. At the start and end when heat is lower it smokes like a standard pit. It also means that the sides insulate from heat causing most of the heat to be directed up. You can certainly get more heat the sides by added more fuel in the form of wood or pellets, but this just causes it to burn through logs extremely fast.
Once you are done, you just leave the pit to burn through the remainder of the fuel and collect the ashes. The base is supposed to act as an ash tray. While it does do this a small amount, most of the ashes stay in the burn pit portion. Not a big deal as it is easy to lift, but not quite the easy empty solution you might think.
Putting it back in the bag is a little trickier and more easily done with two people. First, you put the base back in the pit and replace the spring-loaded handle. Putting it in the bag is where things get more awkward. While the bag is slightly stiffer on bottom, the sides are soft. A single person can put it in the bag, but you might be chasing around portions of the bag that keep falling as you put the pit back in. Hopefully if you are using it, you have friends with you anyway and they can help hold the bag open.
Final thoughts
The Fahrenheit Flame is a well-built product that is easy to use and hopefully should last. The main question to determine if it is the right one for you is how you would like to use it. If you want a fire pit for larger groups of people, need it to heat the area, and don’t care if it is portable then this isn’t the one for you. If you are looking for a portable fire pit that is compact, easy to carry, easy to maintain, produces less smoke, and ambience is more important that absolute heat then the Fahrenheit Flame could fit the bill.

Over the summer, we worked really hard to get our patio setup just the way we wanted it. There is comfortable seating, a covered pergola, and easy access to our garage where the fridge is fully stocked. The only thing we really didn’t have was a good fire pit. We used to have one, but it degraded quickly and we finally got rid of it a couple of months ago. We were hesitant to get another one right away because we didn’t want a fire pit that was large and hard to move. That’s why this fire pit was so appealing to us.
It weighs less than 20lbs and it comes with a carrying bag and handle for easy transport. Assembly was very easy. The fire pit comes in two sections - upper and lower. The fire-making supplies go in the upper section and the lower section acts as the base. The design of the fire pit is meant to reduce smoke output from the fire. It uses wood pellets or small logs as its fuel for the fire. There is no gas or starter to worry about. You just make a traditional wood-burning fire and start it with a lighter. The instructions do mention not use lighter fluid or any other accelerants.
When I tested out the fire pit, I loaded it with some old, but dry wood chips and used some paper and cardboard as a starter. The fire caught quickly and burned for a while before fizzling out on its own. The instructions also direct the user to let the fire burn out on its own. So that’s what I did. The fire pit did seem to have less smoke that usual although there was still some - especially when I first started it. The fire burned hot, but the outside of it wasn’t too hot to the touch. I only tried touching the outside of the top section once and did it after the fire had only been burning for about 5 minutes. It's not recommended. I also recommend that you allow plenty of time for the entire unit to cool down before attempting to move or store it. All in all, the fire pit was very good at creating a hot fire and containing it.

About a year ago, I purchased a fire pit, it’s square shaped and made from steel (painted black). It includes a metal cover to make it a flat table and a mesh cover. I’ve only used it about 3x, it sat outside with a cover on it, but parts of it are already rusting. I also seemed that no matter which side I moved to, smoke was always in my face. Obviously depending on the wind.
I jumped at the opportunity to review the Farenheit Flare fire pit, I don’t think my current one will last too long. The Farenheit fire pit comes in 2 pieces, very easy to figure out. Stack big circle over small circle and that’s it. Also included is a spring loaded rod to lift up and position the grill when it’s not hot of course. It comes with a nice bag to store the fire pit and transport it. Although it’s made out of stainless steel, according to the manual, it can still rust.
I started a fire using some paper and burned some wood I purchased at Lowe’s. It seemed easier to get the fire going on this fire pit. The fire burned well and there was noticeably less smoke. The fire pit has holes around the top as well as the bottom for the ash to drop through. I assume this helps with the airflow and helps the fire burn so well. On the night I used the fire pit, the forecast called for rain the next morning. I was expecting a mess of ash and unburnt wood. I was pleasantly surprised, there wasn’t any ash in the fire pit or in the catch bin, probably due to the winds that evening. There was some ash stuck to the side of the fire pit. I spray of the hose and it was all gone. Good as new, there was some change in color due to the heat.
Overall, I like this fire pit a lot, having smoke blow in your face while you’re trying to enjoy your beverage isn’t fun. I can’t wait until it gets cooler and will have to try this with some wood pellets. I wish the logos weren’t as big and obvious. A logo where the metal is stamped instead of cut out might be better. One observation, if you’re transporting the fire pit somewhere, you would put the ring inside the filthy fire pit, it could get messy.

Fire pit is an awesome addition to your backyard or camping activities. This one is super lightweight, portable (base fits into the top portion for transport, handle and carrying bag are included) and safe way to have fire going anywhere you like. One caveat - it can't go directly on combustable surface (like wood or composite deck), you'll need stone, concrete or dirt underneath it as embers do fly down sometimes. Lighting is extremely easy - just add your wood and put a couple of "tumbleweed" natural fire starters underneath. Firepit is designed in a way that it always draws fresh air from underneath resulting in a smooth clean burn (very little smoke comes out). It's a great and safe way to enjoy those long evenings in the fall! Outside walls do get hot but they won't burn you instantly, so it's pretty safe even if you have pets or little ones.

I tried it out for the first time last night with some neighbors and it was a big hit. It was very easy to get a fire going probably for two reasons: 1) the air holes in the stove allow for excellent ventilation, and 2) I used fatwood fire starters which lights it right up. The stove produces a beautiful fire once it gets going with a lot less smoke than the fire pit we used to have.
While the Fahrenheit brand name that’s etched into the steel on the sides of the stove is nice looking and glows when the stove gets hot, you kinda gotta be careful when you are moving the stove or picking it up. There are some sharp corners in the lettering and I’ve gotten poked a few times. But its really nice looking, so just be a little cautious around the lettering.
Cleanup was quick and simple, just shake the stove a bit using the removable handle and most of the ashes fall into the bottom section of the stove. The handle is a great addition making it easy to move or transport. And the included cover is great for storing and keeping it clean.
Overall it’s a great stove and I look forward to many fires with family and friends!

----- Summary -----
Verdict:
The Farenheit fire pit makes it easy to start and enjoy a full fire in just a few minutes. What makes it even better is the minimal smoke output. This fire pit makes sitting by the fire a joy without the drawbacks. Although it does not have the most appealing design, in my opinion, it is certainly functional. If you are looking for a small, portable fire pit, this one should be at the top of your list.
Pros:
- Sturdy stainless steel construction (also provides rust resistance)
- Portable (less than 20 lbs and has carrying methods)
- Easy to set up, use, clean, and store
- Produces a full fire in just a few minutes
- Effectively reduces smoke output
Cons:
- Not the most appealing design
----- Details -----
Design:
Since the Farenheit fire pit is constructed of stainless steel, it has a sturdy and portable design. I think Farenheit struck the right balance between durability and portability because the stainless steel is not overly thick (allowing the fire pit to weigh under 20 lbs) but just thick enough to provide the strength needed for long-term use. An additional benefit of the stainless steel construction is that it is rust-resistant, at least in my experience so far. When not in use, I have been storing this fire pit in my garage, so it being away from moisture might help. My only wish is that the design was more appealing. It is very basic, there are some welding imperfections, and the Farenheit logos are too large, in my opinion. I applaud the functionality of the design though.
Setup:
In the box, you will find the fire pit top, base, handle, carrying/storage bag, and instruction manual. Setup is just a matter of placing the fire pit top onto its base. For carrying, the base fits inside the top, and the handle can be inserted into the top's holes. Alternatively, you can put the fire pit in the carrying/storage bag (which has straps) and carry it that way. The advised method for lighting the fire is filling the fire pit with 5mm of wood pellets or 2-4 small logs, then light the pellets/wood (without using any flammable liquids like lighter fluid or gasoline). Within a few minutes, there will be a full fire.
Performance:
I am very pleased that the Farenheit fire pit effectively reduces smoke output. Having smoke blow in your face can detract from the enjoyment of sitting by a fire, but that is not an issue with this fire pit. The purposeful design with base slot openings and bottom vent holes allows air to enter and rise up through the inner walls of the fire pit, warming the air as it rises. Warm air then exits through the vent holes at the top, which fuels the fire and helps minimize smoke. With a full fire, you can see this in action. The ease of starting a fire and minimal smoke output is quite impressive, and it makes for a more enjoyable experience.

This thing looks really killer in the pictures and I was even more wowed once I took it out of the box. It really reminds me of a 1950's racing car or something for some reason, it just has that look and design of metal and coolness. I know you don't really have to have a "cool" looking fire pit but you know what? It sure doesn't hurt either. Now this thing is also very, very big inside, even bigger than you would think. Taking it out of the box is easy using the handhel metal bar piece that you use to carry it around (for example when you're done for the night and want to move it to the garage).
Setting it up was about as easy as it came, with you just taking the carry bar off (no screwdriver needed, it just pushes inward to release) and then removing the smaller base from the interior of the large base and setting the large piece into the smaller base. Voila! That's it. Nothing else to do and ready to get going.
Once you do light it up be prepared to be wowed even more as the Fahrenheit on the side comes to life. It does a great job of whisking away the smoke, I am still not sure how it does it to be honest but apparently the design of all the holes and their placement allows for air flow to go...well somewhere other than you, heh.
We have only used this thing one time just to test it but my wife and I already plan to use this quite a bit this fall when it gets colder. Heck, I've already invited several of my friends and co-workers to come over and check it out and honestly I cannot wait until they see it in action. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED, YOU NEED THIS!!

This firepit is well made, looks nice, and works well. It's stainless steel and the wielding looked good. It has two pieces. A top part where the fire is and a stand that can collect ash and let air flow to the top from underneath. It is recommended for small logs, or wood pellets. The larger section sits on top of the lower one, easy to put in place. The lower section fits inside the top for carrying.
I tried it with wood pellets. I put them in, they recommend 5cm depth to start, and started on one side, and then slowly added to it. I used some fire-starters and the fire started and spread quickly. The pellets burned fine and thoroughly. Directly above is hot, but the warmth spreads to all sides and out. The flames can come out the top. Once burned, cleanup is easy. Just flip and shake out any ash, and wipe down. Place the bottom in the top and slide it into the carrying case. It's easy to move. It also comes with a carrying handle that locks into the top unit, so even out of the carry bag it's easy to move and keeps the bottom in place while moving.
It burns well, creates heat and looks nice. With more use it'll blacken up some. Overall, a solid built unit that works as intended.

Good Fire Pit!

The Fahrenheit- Flare 17.5 inch Fire Pit- Silver is a well constructed and well-designed fire pit. It is all lightweight stainless steel but plenty sturdy. It has a retractable handle that is designed so that when you put the bottom of the pit into the top section it retracts with a spring-loaded bar with a lever that enables you to insert the base into the top section and that lets the ends insert into holes that hold the two sections together while making the crossover retractable piece a carrying handle. This configuration makes the unit compact and easily fit into the included carry bag with plenty of extra space for wood pellets, charcoal or small split oak. This is where my praise of the Farenheight -Flare 17.5 ends. My first question is why would you build such a fire pit and not offer at the very least a grill to cook on. The fire pit is clearly designed with a raised edge to hold the properly sized grill in place to cook on. I measured it and found that a 17 inch diameter grill will fit perfectly inside the top of the fire pit. It has about a 1/2inch raised edge around the top with about a half-inch shoulder for a grill to sit on. Why would anyone have a firepit that they could not cook on? Furthermore, why would a company design a firepit that is obviously designed to accompany a grill and not sell it as an accessory? I am not sure that I can come up with a dome cover for a smoker vent but I am going to open cook some meat on this baby for sure!

This is a great portable fire pit.
Made with very sturdy stainless steel. I’m sure will last me for years to come. It’s not smoke free but it is definitely less than just an open campfire on the ground. The key to less smoke is a hotter fire. They Achieve this by elevating the base of the fire allowing air to flow through the bottom and the sides. We have also noticed we only have ashes left after the fires. No half burnt logs. So clean up is very easy. This fire pit has been a big hit with our friends and family.
Breaks down in two separate pieces for storage and comes with storage bag for Storage/traveling.

This is not a smokless design however is compact and light enough to be considered a portable one. We have chairs approximately 4 feet from the fire pit and heat / warmth is comfortable. Although not necessarily designed for it I have placed a standard sized grill grate over the top to cook on as / if needed. Otherwise this pit is a good quality material and good design! Low cost and great value product! I would recommend others to consider this fire pit.

The Farenheit Fire Pit is a great addition to my back yard. It was very easy to setup and get my first fire going. I removed retractable handle, pulled out the base, and set the fire pit on top of the base. I placed an old egg carton in the center then stacked some wood around the carton. Even though the wood had been rained on the day before, the air flow design of the fire pit made it easy to get the fire started.
After an evening of enjoying the fire, it was easy to dump out the ash and derbis the next morning, reinsert the base into the pit, attach the handle, and place it all into the carrying bag. I'm looking forward to taking this to the beach and on my camping trips.
Features
- Durable carrying bag
- Removable handle
- Double-walled construction reduces weight and adds durability
- The air flow design greatly reduces smoke and improves fire starting
- Easy to set up and to pack up
- Includes clear instructions
I highly recommend the Farenheit Flame 17.5 inch Fire Pit for anyone wanting to add a fire pit to their yard, take to the beach, or use for camping.

I have been wanting one of these smokeless fire pits for several months. I don't do fires very often in my traditional fire pit because of the out of control smoke and wind tossing embers into the air. Yeah I know that's kind of the way it goes, but the gain wasn't worth the pain of setting up and then cleaning up. When I saw the smokeless tech available from solo stove I liked it but was way too cost prohibitive. Couldn't justify it and it seemed to be gimmicky at the time. Then came along the Farenheight on deal of the day. I took a chance and I'm glad I did. When this thing gets rolling it puts a LOT of heat out. I started just using pellets which was nice, but it was hard to keep it running efficiently as the pellets burned up pretty quickly and adding more would tend to smolder creating a ton of smoke. So I bought some dry piñon wood at Lowes and I start with pellets and toss the wood in. Much easier to keep it in high gear. The flame being fed by the oxygen holes at the top is mesmerizing to watch. This appears to be a Bestbuy exclusive, so no reviews out on the tube, and no accessories like you can buy for solo stove. That said, solo stove appears to be more oriented to the hard core camper who can use it for more than just warmth. If anyone is on the fence, even at the full price, I think this is a great value.
