Fire Emblem is a great, in-depth tactics/strategy game with a good story and lots of characters. Extra content is almost overwhelming. So many hours of gameplay.

Fire Emblem has been a great series. This one is not exception. The story, battle system are all pretty similar to previous games. Good to see things in 3D. Recommended.

The story line is developed at a good pace, I liked how it draws you in. The English voice acting is good, but could use a little more variety when making our character. It has very good customization, from finding a favorite weapon, marrying your favorite pairs, different terrains, the cut scenes, finding your favorite character, etc. The 3D really stood out during the cut scenes and when battling on different terrains(ex: snow, sand, rain etc.) but overall it was great. This game would be a good starter for anyone interested in playing the Fire Emblem series and the gamer who likes customization in rpgs.

My daughter is 13 and she loves this game. To her, the graphics are great and the combat is fun. She likes the story. Definitely recommends the game for others.

Fire Emblem has been around the states since marth and roy were introduced in SSB: melee. However it always is a hard venture especially for people like me who don't like my people dieing. Fire emblem awakening adds a casual mode to rectify this along with the classic model which characters don't come back. But don't get me wrong there are plenty of options for difficulty from lunatic ( ungodly hard) to normal. The graphics are on par with RE: revelations and the soundtrack is amazing. I enjoyed the story line very much and the dlc only adds to the value.

Fire Emblem Awakening is a turn based strategy game with a mideval/fantasy setting. You play a strategist giving orders to the characters in your small band of warrior/magic wielder in order to defeat opposing armies with their own sets of warriors. There are many different classes of characters you can recruit, and each character has a distinct personality that provides gamers with emotional connection to the world events. Dependent on the class, the character has the ability to only use specific subsets of weapons and/or magic, and most weapons/magic can only be used a certain number of times before being used up making the player strategize about resource management as well. In addition, characters can advance in level, usually increasing several of 8 different attributes that affect the characters effectiveness on the battlefield, and support one another to further give small attribute boosts on the battlefield. Of all the turn-based strategy RPGs out there, the Fire Emblem series stands above the rest for hard-core gamers largely due to its inclusion of death (a character in the game is permanently lost if the character dies in battle). This adds meaning to the decisions made in battle since characters you become attached to can easily disappear from the story if you are not careful. With the addition of the satisfyingly complicated support system (opposite sexed characters can even marry, have children, and then their children can join your army), the story and additional support conversation provides insight into and attaches the player to all of the characters providing further emotional impact on the death of a character. While this classic option of character death can be turned off for the casual gamer, I think such plays lose on this fantastically simple device; however, this provides an easier interface to the strategy novice that doesn't want to replay levels --- just to make sure that no-one dies --- or who just wants to play the game for the story alone. With the inclusion of 3D graphic depth, a couple animated sequences, awesome class-based skills, and just the immense amount of customizability of your army, Awakening is among the very best of one of the best series of games.

To put it plainly, this game is super fun. Lots of deep strategy that a gamer it any level can enjoy. Be warned though, if you find yourself easily attached to characters don't play on the harder difficulties.

THE ONLY part of this game I was uncertain about was the marriage aspects of the characters but I have quickly got into that, as there are characters that "resonate" with each other so "choosing" who should marry who feels very natural. Other than that, I like the paralogues and the random battles (you choose whether to engage in random/paralogue battles). All in all, a great Fire Emblem game, and nice to be able to take it with me. My only other Fire Emblem experience was with Path of Radiance.

I haven't played Fire Emblem since the GBA. So far this game has been a great gateway for a return to the series. It works well as a portable game with a balance of depth and accessibility.

I have only played one other fire emblem game and I only made it part way through so I was not sure about this one for a while. And I have to say that I love this game. It has made its way to my top 3 favorite 3ds games. There are so many things to or see. Love the story. And you really can get to know the characters. There are also different modes and difficulties to play on which can satisfy both experienced and newcomers like me. Overall an awesome game.

If you love the series and have a 3ds, then you need this game. Pairing system is great. Sucks when your guys die; like a family member's death. Very time consuming game. A+

Fire Emblem Awakening is a fantastic strategy game that is aimed at both casual and hardcore gamers. The storyline will keep you on edge making you wondering what will happen next. The gameplay is challenging but not so hard that you want to rip your hair out. The game looks and also sounds beautiful. Anybody wanting to try out the Fire Emblem series, or strategy RPG's in general should start with Fire Emblem Awakening. 9.5/10.

Read any gaming news site and you'll find they agree, this is reason enough to get a 3DS. I bought two copies and another 3DS because my girlfriend wanted to play as well, and she rarely plays games. Characters, story, visuals, free updates every week as well as some paid dlc; this game far exceeds any expectation. The last time picked up my old FE gba games was probably in grade school. This is nostalgic and at the same time feels new.

I'll keep this short and sweet. Fire Emblem Awakening is easily the best Strategy RPG since Shining Force 3 and may very well be the best one I have ever played period. If you don't own a 3DS and enjoy this genre of game, it is worth buying the handheld for this game and this game alone. If you already have a 3DS, then just buy this already.
