After sitting with this game for awhile. It's very anime. I like the fights but it kinda sarcfices good story from 3 houses for this. It's fun but as I said. The game is very anime on what it wants to tell with the main campaign. Not bad but kinda cheesy in some part

Silly, trashy, anime fun. The story is meh, but the characters are cute and the gameplay is good.

While the gameplay and weapon system/options are fantastic, the game is really lacking in story compared to 3 houses. Still a lot of fun though

I have a bit of a jumbled opinion on this title. Gameplay, which you could make the argument is the most important factor, is perfect. Playing this game was a blast. Now with that out of the way, this being the next main series title after Three Houses all of the characters and the story felt to paint by numbers and one dimensional. Most, if not all, of the characters are forgettable compared to every other main line Fire Emblem game. Music was good, but felt a little lacking as well. Overall worth a playthrough for the gameplay itself.

Really fun, great gameplay that adapts the best of past titles and evolves further as well. The cinematic animations are so good!! Also, delivery was super quick despite getting free shipping!

This is the second Fire Emblem game I picked up (First being Awakening), and I have been really enjoying it! There are plenty of characters so that you can make a full team of just ones that you like, and normal mode is just the right amount of challenging for someone new to Tactical Gameplay. I love being able to swap characters around class wise - though I'm not a fan of the uniform outfits across characters (if you make Jean a Sage like I did you'll understand). Plenty of engaging interactions between a variety of characters, and a lot of different minigames to keep anyone interested in what's going on at home base.

While the story is weaker than the last few games, at least the plot isn't insultingly bad like Radiant Dawn or Fates. Where the game really shines is the gameplay, visual style, and characters, they're all top notch. It feels like with the basic plot and putting the past lords in the game, they were trying to make a Fire Emblem anniversary celebration game harkening back to Shadow Dragon, and it succeeds at it MUCH more than Awakening did.

It’s OK might have the best gameplay in the series, it also looks really good. The story and characters are lacking compared to other games unfortunately, but it’s still worth it for the gameplay.

Fire Emblem Engage is a pretty game. It even plays great. It shines when you are in combat. However, after 4 hours I found myself despising the “in between” periods where you talk with your allies and manage your gear. I loved Three Houses because of the relationships you can form with your crew. With Engage, the personal relations are an after thought. You can still talk to members of your group, but the dialog feels empty. This isnt a bad game, its just not my cup of tea. If you are a Fire Emblem Veteran, you will most likely appreciate the return of “big picture” relations(forming alliances with neighboring countries”. Unfortuntely, the personal relationship mean more to me. One thing I will say is that I would recommend this game to anyone to at least try.

Definitely a great addition to the series, It brings back the weapon teiangle from the original games and made the game harder to make the Engage mechanic absolutely necessary for success. The artstyle of the characters is a little much in my opinion but still somehow fits into the game overall. Definitely pick the game up if you’re a RTS fan or looking to get into the series.

Fire Emblem Engage is definitely made for more long time fans of the series with its gameplay style, maps, and somewhat basic good vs evil plot.
Characters can be very 1 dimensional at times, story at some points is comedically cliche, and the lack of paired endings is definitely a big loss for me. Regardless of that, the gameplay loop, classes, maps, anf the engage mechanic do definitely make this game as fun as it is.

Honestly a great entry to the series. Three Houses turned me off of the series, but this game gets back to what makes Fire Emblem good, fun, frequent, and engaging battles. A must-buy for fans, and highly suggested for those looking to get into the series.
The story may be a bit lacking, but who cares when the core gameplay is so fun.
