Excellent game that should be in any Fire Emblem fan's collection. I recommend playing Birthright fist and then Conquest and Revelations. By owning either Birthright or Conquest as a cartridge or digital download you can qualify to buy the other two titles digitally for $20 each.

Another Excellent entry in the Fire Emblem Series. I wish they had made one game instead of two, but when you have that option for more money I understand it. Overall you probably only need to buy one in the long run, but the game is great. I like Birthright better because you have options for more casual(easier) or tougher play throughs without it being skull bashing hard as I heard Conquest can be. If you've played Fire Emblem you'll love the new entry as it is more of the same good stuff. If you've never tried the series before but like puzzles, strategy or RPGs give this a shot.

I took a look at a few reviews before deciding which Fire Emblem fates version to purchase (there was no question I was gonna buy one of them!) and decided after looking through the reviews to start with Birthright as Conquest has been said to be much MUCH more difficult (though I haven't played it yet). As I was checking out the helpful associate told me I could purchase Conquest as well at half price as part of a package offer and so I went ahead and did so. I really enjoyed Fire Emblem Awakening and if you did as well then you will definitely enjoy Birthright. I found in Awakening that you could level too quickly and overpower everything about halfway through the game but so far I'm not seeing that quite as much with Birthright. I definitely recommend any FE fans pick up Birthright (or Conquest)!

If you like turn-based strategy games in a fantasy setting, this one sets a new bar for the genre. If you've never played a Fire Emblem game before, start with this one and then download the extra story paths once you finish it.

Alright, first thing is first. This game is pretty hard. Not when compared to a lot of other Fire Emblem games, (like Conquest, the other side of this story) but I wouldn't expect to jump in and handle things without some thought. Thats kind of the appeal of the series. Its a slow moving, tactical, turn based game, with an interesting story. If that sounds good, it's probably going to be interesting. I think this might be a good place to jump into the series with, but just be aware... Tough battles within.

If you've never played FIre Emblem (FE) before or just started with the last game, FE: Awakening, then Birthright is probably the best option for you. A great tactical game that will give a challenge accompanying a good story and well done characterizations and character interactions. The only issue I had with Birthright is the same problem Awakening had, the maps and their objectives can become repetitive. Fortunately, there are plenty of DLC maps that can aid in fixing this problem, and the other game, Conquest is the best solution for it (although it's more difficult). For any concerned that Birthright and Conquest are like the Pokemon series and only have minor differences, then those concerns are dispelled as there are major, significant changes and story points between these two FE games. Hope all enjoy the game!

If you've enjoyed the rest of the Fire Emblem series then there won't be any surprises here. If you've never played one it's a tactics game so turn based grid battle. The story is great and characters are likable.

My son wanted to get this game after playing previous Fire Emblem games, but it was sold out in several locations so we were happy to find it at Best Buy. He and his friends have enjoyed playing it together.

This is a great game that lives up to the Fire Emblem series. I was a huge fan of Fire Emblem Awakening and this one is just as great. Challenging, but in a fun way. Will likely purchase Conquest as well.

Fire Emblem: Birthright delivers the same promise of other titles in the series before it - intriguing story, interesting characters, and fun combat. I definitely recommend starting with Birthright before picking up Conquest, which is the more challenging of the two games. The advantage to Birthright is that you can grind more and spend more time developing support relationships between your party members, as opposed to the finite number of encounters available in Conquest.

Its turn based, almost like chess, so if thats not your thing it might not be for you, but otherwise one of the best 3DS games to date. Very deep, and very long. Will keep you busy for a long time.

I've played a few of the Fire Emblem games along with the two other version of Fates, Conquest and Revelations. As a Fire Emblem game, this one has many refined improvements. All the weapons can be infinitely used except for staffs and consumable items. The "My Castle" incentivizes me to come back and level everyone to max with all their skills. The cards that you get at the end of the game are the most important, since Revelations is my "true" version. In terms of the three versions, this version is definitely the easiest. Even when playing on the highest difficulty on normal, I found it fairly easy. This is mostly due to lots of money and experience being widely available. Scouting made things a lot easier. This game is different from the dual releases of Pokémon. This game is a completely different perspective from Conquest. I would recommend though to play this game first, Conquest second, and Revelations third. This is because it is easier to pay attention to the foundation that Birthright sets, before throwing your 3DS to the ground in frustration with Conquest. Pros: +Amount of in-game content is pretty large. +The new classes and characters are amazing +Phoenix mode is great for newcomers or young players +Great worthwhile DLC (Recommend the DLC Packs 1 & 2) and easy/convenient to obtain in game. +Voice work is pretty good. +Still things to do after endgame. +You can visit other people's castles and obtain characters and items. Cons -Can be way too easy for older or more experienced fans of the series - Visiting all the locations in My Castle after every battle gets tedious. - Marriage scenes aren't as good as Awakening

With FE Fates being my first FE game, I wasn't sure what to expect going into it. While the story isn't anything to write home about, I've been enjoying the turn-based gameplay and the character interaction elements. I'm about halfway through the game as of this review, playing in casual mode.

Fire Emblem Fates is the best Fire Emblem I've played, out of just about all of them released stateside, except for Awakening. I chose Fates over Awakening when I made my purchase because of the 3 different stories that exist within Fates; Birthright, Conquest, and Revelations. Birthright is REALLY easy on casual mode, and is a GREAT starting point in the series in my opinion.

This game has it all. Good voice acting, animation sequences , controls, graphics, and story. Anime sequences is good enough to make a movie on. Battling graphics are top notch and flashy special attacks. This one is more forgiving than Conquest. Birthright is easier to play and a "hero of light" feel. Conquest is more battle-driven and "dark" plot. "Conqueror of lands" feel. Plus resources are scarce. So it makes you think and you have to be careful to survive. I recommend Birthright over Conquest. Birthright a friendlier version. Conquest if you're a skilled rpg veteran.
