I... I wanted to like this so much more than I did. I mean, I *loved* FE: Awakening. I did. I still do. This has just failed to grab me.
Honestly, the thing that really brings this down for me is having to pay another $40, just so I can have both sides of the story, and then the real story. Why can I not get the real story all in one game?
On the upside, I did enjoy the enhanced streetpass functions of the castle building, and amiibo support is nice.
Maybe someday when I can find the special edition version that has all three stories on the cartridge (game card? whatever.), I'll think about giving it another try. Until then, I think I'll live.
Do I recommend it? Yes. Wholeheartedly. An average Fire Emblem game is still better than some other exceptional ones.

Awesome game overall. If you love the classic fire emblem games then this is a must buy. The story is fantastic. The only downside is that you are forced to choose one pathway unless you buy the Revelations DLC for $20 USD. That is a nuisance. Other than that, it's great.

Such a great game. The best feature is of you want to buy the other game (conquest) you can pay $20 in-game for a half off purchase. Highly recommended

I hope most people would know what to expect out of this game before purchasing it. While I've never played a Fire Emblem game before this one, I was familiar with the series and understood what it was.
Birthright is the easier of the two physical games (there's a 3rd one that's digital only) and has a more Japanese/Bushido theme than Conquest, which is more European.

If you're looking for more Fire Emblem fun, this is a good entry in my opinion.
But there is one word of warning I'd like to give. It's difficult, very much so in fact. I played through Birthright with little trouble overall, only failing missions a couple of times. I had trouble with the third mission of this path after the split. It took a lot more effort to actually finish.
So if you want something more challenging, this is the way to go. That said, if you're new to the series and/or want a more relaxed experience, start with Birthright or Awakening.

I really should have followed the game's advice when it said I should start with Birthright instead of Conquest. However, the characters and the storyline on Conquest appealed more to my tastes so I went for it. It's definitely harder than the other two installments in the Fates trilogy. Runs smoothly on my 3DS and graphics are amazing.

Very addicting game like all the previous in the series. Plenty of DLC and the two extra stories have great replay value.

While Conquest may be challenging, it is a great game that improved a lot of features compared to Fire Emblem Awakening.

If you're a fan of the classic, unforgivingly difficult Fire Emblem games, definitely pick up Conquest over Birthright.

I bought conquest for me and then downloaded the other DLC path for my 6 year old. She loves it!
There are 6 different difficulties so it can be fun for any skill level. My 6 year old plays on the easiest (Phoenix Casual) and I play on one of the harder difficulties.
Fun story and great strategy game!
