    It splits the 5.1 out from the hdmi. I use this with Roku and plex. Let’s the video pass through. My play base sounds great.

    this is a great product for what it's intended to do and that is convert to DD to 5.1 BUT what it does not do is convert DTS to 5.1. most blu-ray moves are DTS so this will only convert to stereo, two channel or pass through not 5.1. so if you're purchasing this to get 5.1 from your sonos soundbar home theater system this is not the product you want. i wanted weeks for this to be in stock assuming it would suit my needs. i'd hate to have to return this product if it has the capabilities i need. please someone correct me if i'm wrong.
