This movie kicks you right in the feels. It has everything, action, drama, and an accurate frame for the history in which it is set. It is truly sad what humans have done to other humans.

The cast and acting was superb. I am glad to add this to my collection. I was resistant to watch it at first. But, it turned out to be worth the watch.

This should have done a lot better at the box office. A well put together movie and great acting. This is one to keep in your collection to watch years later.

The movie was good but got a little long. I think it would have been better if she of the longer scenes had been a little shorter. Overall it was entertaining.

Very long but well worth watching just make sure you prepare to sit through a long move. There is a lot of action and they do touch on the actual history

Best Buy always has a great selection of movies. I went there for something else, and while I was looking around the store, I happened upon this movie and bought it for myself.

This is a great film with great acting. The extras are very informative from a historical stand point. If you enjoy historic films, be sure to see this one. Very underrated.

I've never been a big fan of Matthew McConnaghey, but I am a big fan of history. History won out as this is a pretty good telling of the story.

Interesting movie that touches on a little known plot line of the civil war. Not an entirely true story but enlightening nonetheless.

Four stars were given because of the conflict over the status of the Child. The best part was the fact that a parcel of land was left.

I really enjoyed this movie. I never heard of this story and glad it was brought to DVD. Watched it over again just to ensure I didn't miss anything the first time.

I watched this movie when it came out in the theatre, so I already knew I liked it. The clerk at best buy was quick and courteous when I purchased this movie.

I think that all Americans coming up should see movies of this sort to understand our past and parts of our history that doesn't need to repeat itself.

Did not know what to expect when I first saw previews but Mathew Dies an awesome job I. All his roles!!!!! Great sleeper for anyone who likes history shows!!!!!

America's slavery past is not pretty, but it is history. Anyone who loves history may want to do some research on what really happened.
