When the series was still going I believe it was season 3 or 4 when I started watching and wondered why it was I had not been watching this from the start. I had seen the movie and thought it was good, but never intrigued to watch the series. Recently I had just bought the first season and this is by far one of the best series i've watched in a long time. Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton really sell their chemistry on screen and depict a more true to real life setting on how couples really are. Highly recommend!

Friday Night Lights is simply fantastic. Overall the series is awesome and quite addictive, Glad to have it as part of my boxset collection :)

Though critically acclaimed by much of the television press, Friday Night Lights has remained largely under the radar. It's a shame, because this show is FANTASTIC! It's a drama that focuses squarely on real, developed characters in a small Texas town: people you can relate to instead of glamorous doctors or gritty, melodramatic detectives. At the heart of the show is the relationship between Coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler--most recently known as the "bomb squad guy" from, yes, that glamorous doctor show on Thursday nights) and his wife Tammy (played by Connie Britton). The dialogue and attitudes between the two are so real and so engrossing that it feels like you're peeping in their living room window. Yes, there IS football in this show, but it's more like a backdrop to the peoples' lives, the soundtrack to their everyday existence. The first few episodes may take some time to get into until one becomes familiar with the characters, but soon enough the show becomes addictive as the Panthers claw their way through Coach Taylor's first season. The only drawback to this very affordable DVD set is the lack of special features; save for a few deleted scenes and one very brief documentary, there are no extras on this set. The show speaks for itself though, and it's one not to be missed!

"This tv show is just great! There is so much to it other than football. I watch the tv show and I end up yellin at the tv call people stupid and why did you do that you just get so into it. I have friends watching it now and they are hooked and every time the tv show is over we always call eachother and talk about that episode and how we can't wait for the one next week. You get so into the show that you feel like its a part of you and you wonder what is going to happen next week. I would recomend this show to anyone it is great."

This is a story of small town America, of football in Texas, of young hearts, a desire to win, and the impact of good judgement and leadership on children's lives. You don't have to be into football to get this show, because it's all about the inhabitants of Dillan, TX, the most realistic little town that doesn't actually exist. Try this show out, and you'll find yourself half-believing that it does.

This is the best old fashioned, straight ahead type drama on TV. It's an overused concept but done with a level of acting and directing rarely seen in hour long dramas. You really feel like you are there. I liked it, though it has the boring patch here or there. And by the way you don't have to care or know about football to enjoy this.

Friday Night Lights took me by storm when it debuted last year. It has a great story, and real, down to life characters. The story lines are believable, and the characters come across as loving, caring, and truly genuine. I was totally sucked into the experience each and every episode. The way the coach interacts with his players and his family was uplifting. Many comedic moments come during small talk between the coach and his wife, and its great to see. This show is NOT just about football. Actually, I would say football is not even the main thing this series focuses on. It's more about the lives of these characters, and how they all interact in this small football town. It made for great tv, and this DVD is a must buy for me! Would definitely recommend!

Its not just about football. The few non-football people I got to watch the show loved it. The show has no flaws. The writers leave a lot of things left unsaid, so it is important for the watcher to use their brains. This may be the best network television show of all times. It certainly is the best show no one has heard about.

This whole series, all 5 seasons, were the best series ever on TV. I loved all the actors, they all did excellent in thier roles. I purchased all five seasons on DVD and have watched them each at least four times and have started watching again. Am enjoying them as much as the first time i saw them on TV

This show is by far the best on television today. It is well-scripted, has wonderful actors, and has a lot of real life lessons that are portrayed realistically and has lessons to teach its' viewers. I really do love this show, and you'll have to watch it to see what I mean.

I always wanted to start watching this show when it was on air, but of course, whenever it was on, I was always out doing something else & forgot to record it. I'm glad the first season is now out on DVD. I've watched it all & have to say it is one of the best dramas on TV.

This show is amazing. If you are not a football fan, you do not have too be in order too like it. This show deals with football, but the show is about life, passion, and is just a superb show. Give it a shot on dvd and watch the new season. You will not be let down.

Although high school football ties characters together, this series is really about the characters. People that you will care about. This is one of the best series that has been on TV in recent years and is well worth your viewing. You won't regret it.

This series is so interesting and creatively shot. It draws you right in with a collection of intense plotlines, not-so-intense plotlines that are shot in a challenging way and the always reliable high school drama. Easily the best drama on TV.

This is a great tv show! It's not all about football but definitely depicts the life of town all about football in the south. Great acting and to get it all for such a cheap price, can't complain.

This is an awesome show! I think a lot of people think its a football show, but its really a chick type of show. Soap opera with some cheerleading and football thrown in for flavor. Check it out!

Something charming about this show that takes you in and makes you want to continue. Really heartfelt. Much more than a football show.

excellent show, well written and acted. the chemistry between characters is excellent. good humor mixed in. my teenagers enjoy it as well.

This show is awesome. I would definately recommend it. If you are not watching it you should be! Check it out you will be hooked.

One of the best shows on TV. Love the football and that there is more to the show then football. Can't wait for season 4!
