Needed to replace previous dehumidifier for our damp basement. This one really pulls water out of the air! More efficient and quiet than the previous one. However, the previous model also had a cycle option, which I liked -- you could set it to go on for 2 or 4 hours, then off for 2 or 4 hours. This one can be set to run continuously or for a limited number of hours.

Works like a champ, put in my damp basement and it has made a world of difference.

Like the options of setting humidity level as well as timer and fan speed. Filter is easy to remove and clean. Unit is easy to set up and move around where needed.

This dehumidifier works excellent! Highly efficient and easy to set up and use. Convenient to empty. Has made a huge difference in our basement. No more mold problems. Highly recommend!

We just built a new house and the basement has been continually damp. We bought this and it's been working overtime to dry up the place. We empty it twice a day right now, but the basement is completely dry and it was WET! We are extremely pleased with this dehumidifier. It has exceeded our expectations!

Dehumidifier replaced 5 year old LG that worked fine while it was alive, but then stopped dehumidifying (I think maybe coolant had leaked as compressor still seemed to work). Anyway, it was cheaper to replace than repair. So... after reading some reviews, mostly positive, I went for the Frigidaire - 70-Pint Dehumidifier. It rolled easily into place. The drain hose I attached by screwing onto a side port was much easier to install than the LG system that installed from the back by sliding over a difficult to find interior port. Then started it up. After a while, I thought maybe I had gotten a lemon because it was so quiet. I could hear the fan but wasn't sure the condenser was running. So I adjusted the humidity setting above the room humidity and sure enough, there was a little shudder and it got even quieter! Readjust setting down again and again it shuddered ever so slightly as the condenser restarted. Old LG unit made noise like a diesel truck from day one so I thought that all dehumidifiers were like that. But not the Frigidaire. As indicated in the manual, takes 3 or 4 days to initially get room down to set humidity, but that is normal for all dehumidifiers. Change filter light does come on every few weeks and the filter is not very dirty, as others have noted. Maybe cleaning that frequently helps efficiency, or maybe the light just works on a timer that is set too short. You can easily clean filter, or ignore light for a while as you wish. I got the extended warranty, which I almost never do, but dehumidifiers are notorious for dying after a couple of years and repairs, if you can find a place in the same time zone that does it, are more than half the cost of a new unit.

I recently purchased a home with an unfinished walkout basement (~1200 sq.ft) in which the relative humidity was measuring close to 70% (80-90% outdoors). I bought this unit, and per the instructions, let it run on continuous for the first 3 days. And man was this thing dehumidifying. I was manually emptying the bucket 4 times in a 24 hr period (bucket is ~15 pints, so 60 pints a day at first). Now that a lot of the initial moisture has been removed, I'm having the unit maintain at 50% RH, and only having to empty the bucket twice a day. The unit is good about stopping and starting wherever you set the setpoint, and the operation is easy to learn. So far, I'm happy with the purchase.

Purchased to replace old unit, This unit really pulls out the moisture and is much quieter than my old GE unit. Very easy to set up & dirty filter light had a reset button which is very helpful.

This dehumidifier does an excellent job of drying out our basement. That it works at lower temperatures makes it far superior to our old one. Quiet and energy efficient at a good price.

For a unit this size this one is quiet and works efficiently. Shortly after starting it there was a noticeable drop in humidity in our basement.

The unit is reasonably quiet. It really does lower humidity quite quickly. If you have a musty smell in the house it will solve it. Easy to set up and use. 4 stars only because the red level indicator sometimes gets stuck. But it doesn't affect how the unit works

Absolutely does a great job. I have 2 of these to control humidity in my old house with bad aluminum windows. On a humid day they will both remove a bucket full of water from the interior air. The quality and feel of the air is now a 1000 times better than before. It's pleasant and no more mustiness. Had I known about these I would have bought them years ago.

We are very pleased with this dehumidifier. It replaced our 35 old dehumidifier. This one runs so much quieter! It is easy to empty. Noticed significant reduction with lower humidity after it running the first night.

Good unit, fairly quiet. Does a good job removing humidity, and option to attach a drain line is a plus. Not sure the RH setting mode works as effectively as it could. Always seem to be emptying the unit at the same frequency regardless of setting.
