Customers frequently mention the excellent image quality and sharpness of the XF 23mm f/1.4 R Wide-Angle Lens, with many praising its ability to produce vibrant and detailed photos. The fast f/1.4 aperture is also a highly praised feature. However, some customers express disappointment over the lack of weather sealing.

Amazing but also needs better build for WR.

Phenomenal!! I love the Bokeh it emits on low light and how well it performs as well. Auto focus is sharp and decent, not quick but enough to adjust before taking a shot. I’ll provide some sample photos here so you can check it out. I do have one Con… why couldn’t this be weather resistant?! For the price it should be. I had this for a good 2 months, if you’re thinking of getting one I would advice to wait. Fuji announced the Mark II and that one will be WR.

I love this lens! Solid; smooth and great attention to detail. I have cannon gear. 5MKII and 7D; equipped with Canon L lenses. IS 24-105/4; IS100/2.8II Macro; 16-35mmII 2.8; 70; 70-200L 2.8 Non IS and 70-200/ 4L II. This lens screams of detail and wonderful color rendition.
This is my low light walk around lens attached to my Fujifilm XPRO-1. What a great combination. You will not be disappionted with the quality of this lens; sharp as a tac with a little weight but nothing what my canon gear weights.
Went to Denver and my Neck was killing me along with my shoulders. If I would of had the Fuji gear it would have taken a larger amount of pics!
You will not go wrong with this lens. My next purchase is 56mm 1.2 Fuji lens.

Pictures are amazing with this lens. Just be aware that its not weather sealed and the focus isn’t as fast as the newer model.

I use my X-Pro1 with this lens and almost never take it off as the 35mm equivalent is just right for almost all scenes. The f1.4 aperture is terrific for those low light scenarios and gives a shallow depth of field for intersting perspective.

This lens is spot on sharp! The bokeh is beautiful when doing portrait photography and the f/1.4 is essential for capturing that extra light. Yes, it's a little bulkier than the pancake, but worth it for the extra f-stops and the manual control. I'm also quite pleased with the landscapes taken during my travels. It's the perfect all-around primary lens. Not too long, not too short. To date it's the only lens I've traveled with, as I like to travel light. I'm quite happy with the purchase and would highly recommend this lens. If you can afford it (or not!), go for it!

Sharp, best build quality, expected image quality. for taking photos, this one is better than 35/2. after all 1.4 has more usage for a fixed lens.

Pairing with X-E4, able to achieve great quality photography. Quality and feel brought a smile. One minor issue is the very easy smooth aperture ring.

The Fujinon XF 23mm is simply a fine piece of photographic glass. I switched to the XT-1 because I couldn't travel with all of my Canon gear and L lenses any more; it was all too heavy and obtrusive. While the Canon L lenses are top notch, I actually have to give the edge to the XF series in general and the XF 23mm in particular. It is sharp, can give you great bokeh and built extremely well but not too bulky. My only two gripes are that it is a pretty pricy lens (not as bad as a comparable L lens, but it's up there) and it's not weather sealed. Other than this, you can't ask for a better street photo lens.

There are lenses more flattering for portraits but I do not think that there is a lens that tells the truth better...when I shoot a portrait with this lens...it is not flattering in the way a 135 will compress features...what this lens does is it captures the real you...the 35 mm length is very close to what the human eye sees...so when I frame my image I know exactly that what I see is what I get...lens is very sharp and fast to focus. I used this lens to shoot some amateur ice hockey...I stood in a corner and behind the net and waited for the action to come to me . This lens worked beautifully
I have this mainly for street photography and it is a great performer...also some think this lens is big...I don,t think so...I think it balances perfectly on the xt1

if You own fuji "body" this lens is best of all of 3 fuji primes i own. i also own 35mm f1.4 and 56mm f1.2 primes for my XT-1 body.
all fuji lenses are on the higher side price wise but worth every penny.
this particular 23mm is tack sharp even wide open and if 35mm on FF cameras is Your thing then this lens will satisfy you for sure.

But I love it! This awesome lens is my general purpose lens and always paired my 23mm with my 56mm when I travel. This lens is much a lot faster in AF than my other Fuji lenses.
