"The Gallows" is your typical POV horror film, involving a high school play that goes terribly wrong. It has good pacing and decent acting, and a very solid plot. There's plenty of suspense, and certainly some good jump scares. If you are looking for a lot of gore, this is not the film for you, but it is a good one if you're looking for some creepy scenery, the occasional laugh, and a film that doesn't make you think too much. Clearly aimed at a younger (teen) audience, this film delivers the goods.

The found footage genre was at its peak by 2015/16 and has slowly seemed to be fading away which is sad. I've seen the Gallows on release and absolutely hated it. 6 years later at 21 I think the film wasn't as bad as I remembered. The characters were sometimes annoying and unrealistic but the concept was interesting enough.

For being such a small production team, next to no budget, and no-name actors, I really enjoyed this film. They've done a great job at creating suspense, just wish the ending was a bit different.

Pretty original ideas mixed with some overused ideas but I found this to be an enjoyable movie. I've watched it twice now and enjoyed it both times. No reason for it to be R-rated though.

I bought this thinking it would just be your average "horror" movie but it actually turned out to be a quality movie but should have been a little longer

I am not a horror fan, as I purchased this as a gift. My friend loves horror, and is very hard to please, but he truly enjoyed this!

Really go into this buying it for the Dolby Atmos soundtrack, great for testing home theater

While I liked this movie I know that many people don't like found footage movies...jumpy camera shots and bad angles make these types of movies rough (or maddening) for some people. But there are some creepy scenes and a few jump scares as well as an interesting twist near the end to make the movie fun...but not great.

Did not expect this will be to be this good but it was I would recommend this movie to anyone

Good movie, gave me a couple jump scares. Good horror flick for a Friday night.

Had a few good scares, kept in suspense and on edge of seat, but didn't really make that much sense. But then again, we usually go for the scares, surprises, and jumps. I would have preferred to rent the movie, however. This purchase did come with a DVD disc, Blue-ray disc, and digital copy via UltraViolet.

This movie is a good suspense/ horror movie. The ending will have you shocked.

If you can get past The Blair Witch type camera work then this is really good.

When I saw reviews for The Gallows they were largely mixed but I enjoyed the movie.

Starts off slow but by the end of the movie you are at the edge of your seat.

Good job by all of involved. Good story told by the director and producers
