I have a car accident after I bought this dash camera it worked very good, I used the video and pictures in the court as a probe of the accident

The dashcam over all is great except that the battery only lasts a little over an hour. This means that to have a record of your trips and especially if you're using the camera for that rare incident where it will prove the other drive was in the wrong, it has to be connected to a power source all the time. This is an inconvenience. A USB cable will have to be run from the power source and dedicated to the camera. This then means that one of your USB power ports is no longer available for your phone or tablet or whatever. Not to mention having a cable dangling or figuring out how to run a cable around the dashboard and window to the camera. This is why the camera only get' three stars.

It's great... records when I turn on my vehicle. Continues until I turn it off.. Has a very wide lens. The audio is also very good. It worked so well I went out and bought a second camera and aimed it to the back. Now I record what coming front or rear in case I get hit from behind... Thanks Garmin.

Product works exactly as described--plug it in, and it starts recording. Video quality is fine. I have not experienced any of the problems described by others with super-sensitivity. The product came with the sensitivity set to "medium", and (despite some very poor road surfaces) I have only had one occasion where a pothole triggered the automatic save feature. The suction mount only gave me trouble on one day, falling off several times. I finally noticed some dust on it, cleaned it off, and it's been fine since. The videos are stored in 4 minute (approximately) AVI clips. You can manually save any clip that you want to and can download them to your computer and splice and edit them. If you're going to do this, I recommend replacing the provided 4 GB memory card with a larger one.

Very easy to use, perfect size so it isn't in your way, clear picture.

This Dash cam was very easy to install and start up just like other reviews commented on. The picture quality is good. The only suggestion I would make is (1) need more SD storage and (2) You do have to keep plugged in while driving any distance. It is very easy to take off when you don't want to leave on your window and quick to reinstall putting back on.

Great device with good video quality. I had to download a program from the internet in order to convert the recorded videos to view on Win8 on my PC. This I would change so this isn't required. Garmin should integrate the dash cam capability into their GPS devices if they haven't already.

Great picture day or night. Can easy read the license plate number of other vehicles.

This was purchased due to the fact that I was hit by a person who ran a red light. She said hers was green and I said mine was green. NO ONE STOPPED that was in the flow of traffic with me except after about 5 minutes went by a man from the opposite direction witnessed the crash. He fought through the traffic to be a witness and proved my case that she was at fault. If that man did not come to my defense it would have been her word against mine. The Garmin Dash Cam is amazing. You do not have to worry about anything. Just leave it plugged in and it automatically turns on with the ignition and starts recording. THIS IS A MUST. For the price, $215.00, it could save you thousands of dollars without a witness

I bought different dash cams.. The difference is that garmin is easy to move around the quality is very good

I installed this camera to take the place of my outdated navigation system in my vehicle. Let me start by saying this is the best money can buy... but it is a lot of money! I ended up returning it because i could not justify the cost and I purchased a 4K action cam that I use for the same purpose minus the GPS. If I was a frequent traveller or had to commute long distances for work i would definitely have kept the camera... stunning video and VERY accurate GPS.

The camera is nice and the play back and sound are very good. It is hard to get it to stick on the window.

I haven't used the Garmin dashcam personally because it was a gift for someone else, but they really like the size & quality of the dashcam. Great buy!

The Garmin Dash Cam pretty much does what it says! It is a small camera that attaches to the windshield and, when plugged into the power port in the car, turns on and off automatically with the car and recording starts and stops without pushing any buttons. A 4 gb micro SD card is included and the recording will continue and record over itself unless protected (either by preset or manual). I have viewed the video on the computer and it is clear and the audio (if activated) from inside the vehicle is also crystal clear. The latitude and longitude, date and time as well as speed are indicated at the bottom of the video, although you may not see it if you watch it live view on the device itself. It gives a full view out of the windshield, including some of the periphery on the sides, but it is not a 180 degree view. Bottom line: it does just what it says, gives clear video and audio and is absolutely ready to use right out of the box.

I wanted to have a dash camera for a just a little peace of mind. It included a 4GB card and that is enough for the amount I drive each day. It would have been 5 stars if the suction cup worked better. It will fall off from time to time,

I am sure that as these good cameras gain popularity, the price will go down. But, I'm very happy with this. It gives me the option to turn off the backlight, which is a great idea, since I had another brand, which was expensive, that melted inside. My husband and I are long haul truck drivers, and I drive at night, so night vision is very important to me. This one has excellent night vision. The only time this dash cam is shut off is when we're on home time, once a month. So, it needs to be made to withstand 24/7 use. So far, I'm very impressed with the quality.

Stands up to the heat of your car unlike some other brands. Great video quality and with a 32 gig sd card you can record 8hrs before it begins to overwrite. The farming computer software is good too
