Was looking for a smart/ fitness watch for years. Went with the Garmin for its gps capabilities and battery life. Sometimes I don’t charge it for up to a week. If you’re looking for a more smart phone oriented watch I’d go with something else. The music capability is frustrating at best and you receive notifications but at a very basic level. If you are active, work out, ride, run, etc. . . This is the watch to have.

So at any level of fitness you should be tracking some stats. Garmins are very intuitive and offer more than polar and fitbit. This watch is a bit over kill at my level so I could have gone with the Vivoactive 4 but I wanted the more rugged device and didn't want a touch screen device. That being said, the battery life is great and the customization is unbeatable. The data is accurate and very useable and easy to understand. Couple that with their Garmin Connect app and website and you can't miss.

I am an apple Everything consumer I was advised based upon my wants and needs to try out Garmin no joke I shut off all the notifications from my previous Apple devices because they never shut up LOL and everything that I wanted with this Garman device works perfectly and save some money I do not miss the touchscreen of an Apple Watch at all and this suits every feature that I personally want to read the specs if it suits you you’ll appreciate the quality

This watch is exceptional for those people that are fitness oriented but don't want to compromise the convenience of utilizing a smart device. Great battery life, above average GPS tracking abilities, built-in pulse oximeter, accurate HR monitoring and many other useful features. The only compromise I found with this watch is in the strength training settings. The automatic exercise detector is somewhat inaccurate and requires constant user correction when editing the exercise summary of what strength training activities were completed during your session.

Had been eyeing this watch for a while and waited for it to go on sale. Used Best Buy rewards as well, so got a great deal. It really does everything. Wanted a watch that monitored HR and stored music. Also mainly run, but do triathlons as well, so this is great for that as well. Looks great too. It is big, but I was wearing Forerunner 920XT, so that didn’t bother me. Have had it for over a month and have no regrets with this purchase.

I love this watch. At first I was worried that it was to big but I got used to it. So many features on this watch, I use mine mostly for bicycling and walking. The bicycling info gives heart rate, incline and decline info, speed, distance, intensity, shows the map of your ride, etc.. Of course you need a sensor for your bike for some of that info. Can't go wrong with this watch.

I had the watch for a couple of weeks and I am impressed by its functionality and aesthetics. I love the map function and I had the reason to leave my handheld gps at home. Aside from this the barometric function helped in forecasting a change in weather conditions and and even notifies me if the weather gets into a nasty turn. I do a lot of hiking and so far I found my best buddy. Aside from this, the battery is amazing as it held on till charging

I own a lot of smartwatches and I must say that this is the best smartwatch if you love doing outdoor activities and long battery life. I just hate having to recharge my smartwatch every 2 days or so. This smartwatch battery life is INSANE! It last me up to 1-2 weeks depending on the usage. I love wearing this with me while I bike on trails. I Definitely get a screen protector for the glass!

Bought this for my husband for Christmas, and wasn’t sure how he’d like it since he’s not a tech kind of guy. Well, he loved it!! Enjoyed learning the features and wears it everyday. The watch has a great battery life and only needs to be charged maybe once a week. Great watch!

I use this watch for Mountain Biking. I have yet to learn all of the features for using the maps and connection to Strava, but so far it gives me data I want to see. VO2 is one thing I am interested in, but I do not have a power meter for my bike yet, so I may have to do some running activities to see what my VO2 is. I am having fun with all the information and tracking my progress. For me it is motivating because I want to improve my fitness level and the watch lets me see when I should be resting and when I should be going harder. It's a fun toy and for a data geek like me, it perfect. It does not make me workout, but knowing its on my wrist while I'm riding or whatever makes me want to push harder to increase those numbers. It is a motivator for me. I really wanted the 5x Plus for the PulseOx. After using it, I am a little underwhelmed, but I was hoping for too much. Really it works fine, I understand its purpose. I read many things an people are less than impressed with the accuracy. I know my O2 levels are usually 99% or 100% as checked with a high quality PulseOx meter and the watch reports low. The watch generally reads a little low but most times shows a number I would agree with. Running the PulseOx all the time I have to assume the dips are due to loose fit and location of the test being done. Now, its supposed to be for sleep tracking and acclimation of elevation. The acclimation I think it would be sufficient because you can see variation from normal reading (even if low) to you current reading. I do breath holds for freediving, I understand that a PulseOx meter of any kind will not give you real-time O2 levels as oxygen in the blood and in the tissue do not function like a gas tank...

The Garmin Fenix 5X Plus is a pretty awesome GPS watch. I use it mainly for running, but it is extremely versatile. I am looking forward to using it for golf. Unfortunately, mine had a minor issue after a week of use, but Garmin's customer service was fantastic. The vibration function started having an audible buzzing sound. Garmin quickly sent me a label to return the device and they sent out a brand new one. The only downside is I was without the watch for a few days.
