I like the look and feel of the watch. It has some great functions and the GPS is very accurate. I do have two main complaints about the watch though. First, the solar recharge is vastly overstated by the Garmin marketing department. I live in New England and so far during the winter months my watch is able to maintain about 5 days of battery life. Garmin claims the watch has "unlimited battery life in smartwatch mode" assuming you get "3 hours per day outside in 50,000 lux." These conditions are fairly difficult for the average user to attain as 50,000 lux is an extremely sunny day with basically head on contact with the watch surface. It also assumes you turn off many of the functions the watch has that makes it useful. Unless you live in the desert or sun bath 3 hours daily with your wrist pointing to the sky, I wouldn't spend the extra money for the solar option.
Second complaint, the buttons on the watch can easily be accidentally pressed by your sleeves or gloves. In my case I've lost all or parts of exercises I'm trying to record because I failed to notice the pause exercise button was accidentally pressed. The engineering team at Garmin could place a locking switch on the watch to prevent buttons from being pressed during exercise or they could simply make pausing an exercise a double button press to decrease the likelihood of losing miles of running.
Thank you for your review and experience with the Instinct 2. We would like to discuss this further over email. If you would please email us at [email protected]. Thanks Jenny

So this was a purchase to link my dog collar while out hunting. The app dog tracking works great. Combination between Garmin alpha tt125 and this solar watch I can track my dog anywhere. Solar 2 face watch I like I can put tools / apps I need and use a lot. Everything else I shut off. Overall perfect for what I need it for. I also changed out the band to metal it’s just my preference. Now everyone is gonna be different. Do your research before spending. Ask your self what’s the purpose of the watch.

My husband has been using this watch for a year and a half and loves it. He works out 6 days a week and loves that it tracks his workout and gives suggestions as well as tracking runs , sleep, and heart activity.

Superb watch build and functionality. I do not have use for all the activities functions it has, but the amazing battery life of almost 2 weeks, the build quality, low weight and use as a smartwatch (notifications mostly) make it an excellent buy. No frills and lost and lots of functions still uncovered.

Way better than Apple Watch. I get 24-29 days out of one charge. I’ve gone 2 months with out having to charge it. It’s a basic, bust super high quality watch. Definitely worth the money.

Excellent watch. Does eveything I need it to do and more. The solar charging is enough to extend the battery life, but not indefinitely under normal use. That being said, I purchased this over. A month ago and have mot had to charge it yet.

This watch does it all. Especially not having to charge it everyday like my old Apple Watch is a major plus. Thought it would be too big for a girl but nope fits great. Even if your not “outdoorsy” and are just trying to get some steps in ur workout this watch doesn’t disappoint .

Ive had this watch about a month now and i absolutely love the battery life. With my galaxy watch id often forget to charge it so id end up with a dead watch part way through the day. Now this watch face is pretty basic but i like that.

Great watch, I’ve been wearing it for about 3 months and not a scratch on it. That says a lot given I am a HVACR technician, I always have my hands in equipment. Functionality is great just wish it was a little more phone app compatible as far as music playback. Workout routines are great with lots of options for different types of activities
