The Nüvi 2589lmt 5 worked right out of the box. Easy to use and understand. Large display that changes when light lever changes. Love the blue tooth option to link to my phone. The hands free voice command is great and convenient with this model. Some issues with getting it to understand a town or business but those are few. Love the directions like Turn at the stop sign or make a right at the Shell station. Displays the current speed limit almost to the foot as you are driving. Only issue is changing the route if you want to take a different highway or alternate route. Probably just not knowing how to change it. The way it shows the Interstate Exits like a Picture not just a line drawing is most helpful when you are traveling in a lot of traffic and / or in a new area. That really takes the stress off of being in the correct lane etc. Overall great many other options, like elevation, whats coming up, closest gas station, hotel, restaurant, etc. that really are too numerous to mention in detail.

I was looking for a simple but good functional GPS for my wife's new car. I looked at the features of this model and it seemed to fill the requirement. Only reason I only gave it 4 stars was it should have come with a mounting disk for mounting on surfaces that aren't perfectly smooth. Other than that it performs all the proper functions that it should and is easy to operate.

I bought this very convenient unity just before I went to Florida in April this year. A little pricy but it was worth! I went to parts of Florida unknown to me plus the ones very well known also - all without any hiccups. Just punched the address in the GPS and it took me there and back. It found restaurants, parks and all site seeing locations. This GPS is very easy to use and update maps at anytime for life.

I work in home care and I travel a lot. This GPS has been really easy to use. I like the app. I can send addresses directly from my phone to the GPS. I like the blue tooth phone feature too. It show who is calling while still showing the map.

LOVE IT! I had a Garmin for my tour and Europe and unbeknownst to me the maps are not global so my Garmin became obsolete when I returned to US. I picked this model because it had a slightly bigger screen. The model is very easy to use. The voice command feature is nice but you have to speak very slow and clearly. It takes a few tries to get past the learning curve.

Bought this because we purchased a car without a GPS, and I love having the Map feature, so we headed to Best Buy, where an employee gave us a good rundown of the different GPS's they offered. He was very knowledgeable and practical, so we were satisfied with our purchase. We used this GPS right away on a new 14-hour trip to a new area where we'd be for two weeks. It worked great! The directions were good, and we really liked the zoom-in feature as well as the live traffic feature. I haven't had time to find out how to choose between fastest route-avoid interstates-avoid toll roads, etc. options, because I wasn't able to figure it out at the time. Anyway, we like our purchase and are looking forward to the lifetime maps and traffic updates.

Very easy to use and screen is nice and clear. Bluetooth pairing was easy and works great. The live traffic updates are extremely nice and helpful. I would recommend this and will be getting on for my parents to upgrade from their older Garmin they have now.

This Garmin GPS is great. It is intuitive to use and great for people who are scared of technology. Easy Peasy. This is my 3rd Garmin and they just keep getting better and better. I bought this one for my 85 year old mother and my sister. They love it!

I replaced another Garmin GPS with this unit and found it has many features my other one did not. The audible directions regarding which side of the street my destination is located on along with which lane to be in are superb. The remainder of the functions are similar to my previous Garmin. Garmin support helped me transfer my saved locations and custom points of interest to the new GPS. I'm still getting used to the different location for some of the displayed information, but all in all, this is a great unit at a great price.

I love this GPS. I bought it for my daughter to use in her car & she has found it easy to use, with great mapping for backroad & long-distance routes. The salesperson was very helpful in considering available options. We made the right choice.

Garmin has everything in this GPS I was looking for. It was very easy to personalize for my needs. I am very happy with the lifetime maps , traffic updates and Bluetooth features.

I love this GPS. The touch screen is awesome, and I love the bluetooth feature since I don't have bluetooth in my car. My only issues are that the traffic feature isn't always accurate (ex. it will say there is light traffic on my route with a 5 min delay, when really it's bumper to bumper traffic with a 20 minute delay), and the voice command is sometimes wildly innacurate (ex. I will say Walgreens and it will think I said Ikea or something).

This is my second Garmin Nuvi GPS with Lifetime map updates with live traffic. I like this one especially with the built in traffic receiver, my other receiver is part of the cord. I like the glass screen, so much easier to enter addresses. Setup is easy and many useful features and when paired with your cell phone you can use some app's, like FourSquare. Overall I have nothing bad to say about the GPS. Not disappointed with the purchase or cost. I paid more for my other and this one has several more features than it.

This new garmin allows for hands free navigation by voice recognition. Safer and much easier to get accurate directions with. Definitely helped our driving solutions.

I love this ! So easy to use and I never leave home without it. I get traffic updates immediately and alternate routes. It has features i havent even begun to explore.

I purchased and then returned this all in the same day. My return had nothing to do with the GARMIN. Over the years they have changed the screens. My old one has a matte screen that reduces glare. This is very important for me since I use the GARMIN in a convertible. The sunlight hitting the screen made it unusable. Had my second vehicle not had a navigation system, I would have kept it for that vehicle. It has everything you need in a navigation system and then some. A big screen, efficient routing, and the ability to set numerous parameters. Had this had a matte screen I would have it now.

I was using my IPhone app for GPS navigation. The Garmin is so much better. You do not have to use data on your cell phone, you don't need a wireless signal, it works in tunnels, directions are accurate and easy to follow. You can have a conversation on your phone while being directed to your destination. I am so glad that I bought this Garmin I am not getting lost anymore!!!

The Garmin nüvi 2589LMT is shaping up to be a good unit. The voice command feature is pretty intuitive. I prefer using the VC function because I can say the entire address and the unit searches for it. When you manually enter the address you have to go through several steps. For example, you have to type in the numerics on one screen and the street name on the next, instead of all on one screen. The unit doesn't "learn." Sometimes it does not pick the fastest route and when you take the better route it adjusts but does not remember the better route the next time. The best feature is the route optimization feature.

I really enjoy this product! The friendly directions are a life saver! The only reason it doesn't have 5 stars I'd because it wont tell you when you're battery is low..
