I have an older model Garmin and I felt it was time for an upgrade. After checking all the reviews, this one was perfect for my needs and the price was within my range. Love the split screen and the graphics. Very easy to use.

This replaced my old Garmin that had stopped charging. It is fast.I was surprised to find it remembers my trips to work and home and without asking for it displays the time to each. Cool!

Got this for my hubby who hated using his phone to navigate. He loves this Garmin. Easy use. Accurate. Larger screen than on a smartphone and no phone interruptions.

This Garmin GPS is an upgfrade from our previos 2007 one and it is just night and day. Screen size is awesome and traffic for life gives you the actual best route for you. Also the updated database for points of interest is very good.

Our new Garmin GPS has all the features we were looking for. It is very user friendly and has proven quite accurate so far. It was also a good value for the price.

I like the fact you can speak the address or other commands and the unit understands and reacts to commands. I do not have to type info into GPS.it is truly hands free.

This will be the third Garmin we have purchased over the years, and they get better every time. Easy to use, picks up signal quickly and the Bluetooth features is excellent.

I've had absolutely no problems with my Garmin. Every trip I've taken so far has had the mapping accurate, even the "newer" roads that I wasn't sure could have been updated yet but they were. Directions are given to me verbally with enough time to adjust my lanes or speed but not so early that its confusing....so that's great for me. Love the "voice command" feature! My only suggestion is to let us download more creative voices and personalities. I used to have a Garmin that let me I bought a Star Wars theme with Yoda voice but that wasn't available anymore on this one. I was disappointed in that. Love the amount visual graphics and themes that are available but just wanted a few more voice options.

I like the size of the screen and the detailed lane assist. I had an older nuvi and got a new one because of the lifetime traffic and lifetime updates. So far, everything is great with this nuvi.

After constantly using massive amounts of data on my phone, I opted to purchase this Garmin to help me navigate Los Angeles. What an improvement! Love the fact that the screen shows the lanes when options are presented and that it is easy to update.

Used this system on my recent trip to Costa Rica where there a few if any street signs. Got me where I need to be every time. Although, I did not use the Garmin Maps for Costa Rica. But down loaded a GREAT map system from NavSat a local Garmin Map provider.

Having used it several times now, I have to say the GPS is actually good, and the voice command function is a godsend. I only have two hands, and need to keep my eyes on the road so being able to use my voice to run the GPS is important. The reason I gave this four stars, is because the Free Lifetime Traffic feature is not available in all areas. I live in Syracuse NY, and I just can't get it in the local area. I'm going to try it out in other areas like Washington DC and see if it works there, and if the system will allow me, I will update this review with my findings.

Before I bought this, I did an extensive research on weather I want a 5" or 6" size GPS. I thought 5" was not enough for me, but I took a gamble because this Garmin - nüvi 2589LMT 5 GPS had everything I wanted especially the bluetooth function which was most important because I didn't want to buy an extra device to took into my cigarette lighter - I wanted the whole package into the GPS. The bluetooth function is to allow me to connect to my phone to pick up important calls when driving, only important ones, I would suggest people don't make calls while driving. To my surprise when I got this GPS, it fit perfectly on the driver side windshield. In fact, had I chose to get a 6 inch GPS, it would have been too big and would take up too much space on the driver side windshield. The 5" GPS was surprising easy to read 2.5 to 3 feet away so it was perfect. If you plan to install it on the dashboard, I don't know if 5" is enough for you or you might need a 6" GPS so I would recommend to go to the store and test yourself. With regard to the functionality of the GPS, it worked just the way it is advertised, I didn't use all of the features it had, but for driving in local street and highway, it worked fine and showed me the lane guidance on the freeway and which lane to stay on to turn when I exit freeway. In terms of accuracy, I would say this one is accurate when you follow its direction, BUT there was a few time where I made a mistake on turning to the road it told me to, and then the re-route feature kicked in and one time I found it told me to get back on the freeway...just to get onto a road that I could get to if I took my time staying on the local street for a few minutes more. The point I want to make is this, re-route fast and will try to get you back on the route; however, it will try to take the shortest route possible and that is will make you get on the freeway IF you're next to one, I don't like to get on the freeway unless my destination is 1 mile away, it's so unnecessary to do this. Overall, it's a good GPS, there will be a few time it annoy you, but it's a life saver for me because I don't have unlimited data on phone to use GPS nor would I want to rely on my phone for driving, it's more dangerous.

This has gotten us to some out of way places. Sometimes the scenic route but we made it. We love being able to see it well while driving and hear it It gives you time to react and warns you of future turns well in advance.

Bought this GPS to replace another Garmin GPS that was several years old. This product is easy to setup and use. Love the format for finding various locations and information. I read several reviews that complained about too much information being provided from the traffic updates. I have found the traffic updates to be extremely useful and accurate. If your focus is on listening to your radio or music then it may be distracting but if you're using this GPS for navigation then it's a must. Definitely recommend this product.

Just hooked it up to the car and worked right off the bat. I had to buy while I was on a trip. Got home and followed instructions to register, was easy for a older person even. Thanks

I purchased this for my brother-in-law as his first GPS. It was super easy to setup and comes with lifetime maps which is $99 a year to update on my older model. It also comes with live traffic which is very useful when traveling in new areas.

This is an awesome GPS. We have used it alot. It has a nice size display. The voice is loud. Its easy to read and see. The lifetime maps update is awesome. It doesn't feel cheap like other GPS do. Would highly recommend

Only had it a week but so far It's been great. Live in Dallas area which is like the Jetsons (with all the highways) and that's why I bought it. My old Garmin was never sure what road it was on lol.
