I liked my vivoactive 4 better. They got rid of the stair climbing metric on this watch. I feel the step counting is off unless you tell it you’re on a walk. It frequently loses connection to my phone while it’s in my pocket. It’s overall a good watch, but I wish I kept my vivoactive 4.

I've had Fitbit, Garmin, and Samsung (Tizen and WearOS). This was the worst of them all. Likes: nice screen, long battery life. Dislikes: sleep tracker never worked (even on the replacement unit). Several times it stopped recording my 2+ mile walks, got home to "0.2 mile walk with 85 steps recorded." Buttons are awkward to press. User interface is not consistent and is not intuitive. Proprietary charging cable! Screen protectors are hard to find and were poor quality. I returned it. And kudos to Best Buy, their patient geek squad, and their knowledgeable sales staff for making this experience relatively painless!

I bought the Vivoactive 5 about a month ago. I love everything about it. The one thing it's missing from the Venu is the Floors Climbed metric, which has never been accurate with any of my previous watches Samsung Watch4, Instinct Solar, etc). The only thing I don't like about this watch is that the band it comes with feels super cheap. But I did not mark it down a star because I bought a pack of silicone bands on Amazon for $12. Now my watch is a rockstar, feels great, looks great and functions perfectly.

I enjoy this watch! The GPS tracking during runs and walks is amazing. I also enjoy the open swim as well. They accurately track the distance and route. I think it's convenient as a lifestyle watch as well. I can get text and notifications and play music from it. The only thing I wish was better was the pool swim tracking and treadmill running. I live in Florida and sometime prefer a treadmill because it can get hot and my watch is sometime .10- .20 miles off whenever I'm on the treadmill. And if you are not moving you arms and doing drills when swimming the watch will not take that into account and not count that lap. So that's why I have to give it 4/5.
