The battery life is great. I charge usually once a week. The watch is very light weight. I love that I can review my sleep, heart rate, the weather, my steps, text messages and emails. It has tons of face options to choose from. The price compared to other watches that do the same thing is fantastic. Highly recommend!

Love this Watch. It is so light. Easy to use. Sometimes the battery life dips. But it’s usually is resolved quickly by the company with an update. Strong glass.

I know I'm writing a review after this watch was released 2+ years ago, but I figure I have some good comparison to my 2+ year old Apple watch. Grabbed this watch on sale because of the price since I moved over to Android. I think for around the same price point as the Apple SE watch, Apple has a step up.
First the good, I'll say this thing has amazing battery life compared to the Apple watch. Its refreshing not to have to charge my watch every 1.5 days. I'm not a huge athlete or anything, but I do like to monitor my health and workouts, and this does a pretty good at that. I haven't gotten deep into customizations and personal setups, I'm still on the default face until I get more comfortable with the watch. I have Youtube music synced with the watch so its real nice to go on runs without my phone. I like the morning notifications, body battery, weather, and sleep review when I wake up.
Things I'm not a big fan of, isn't not very intuitive, at least for a person new to Garmin. The screen sometimes does not turn on when I tap it, or when I turn my wrist to look at the time. Also, during a workout, its not easy to switch music, look at time, and my progress. Seems like I have to jump around to different 'pages' to get that information, which is not fun to do while running. Again, I'm new to this so there might be better faces/apps that help out with this.
I think its a good watch for the price, and offers more privacy than an Apple or Google watch. It wasn't worth more to spend the extra $100 on the Vivoactive 6 from the reviews I read since there didn't seem to be any major upgrades. It was hard picking a Garmin watch since there are so many, but I think the Vivoactive fits me well for the value.

I’ve been a Fitbit user for several years, and most recently had a Charge 5. When Fitbit / Google rolled out the new app design last fall, I was frustrated by the experience and decided to look elsewhere. I bought the Vivoactive 5 on sale and wow, I’m glad I did! With the Garmin, I can customize the screen how I want. The user interface is much, much better with two buttons vs the zero buttons on the Fitbit. I find the tracking (steps, heart rate, sleep) to be more accurate. Battery life is better. Syncing with my phone is flawless and nearly instant (the Fitbit was super glitchy). It’s more comfortable to wear. Also, I enjoy not constantly being badgered to buy a premium subscription.

Great having a easy to read, very cool watch face! It took a bit of practice to figure out all the bells and whistles, but at the end of the day, awesome. Extremely comfortable band. No sweating!! So happy to step away from Fitbit! Only needs to be charged 1X/week. The price was also very reasonable.

Honestly, it took a little while to set up to my liking, you probably will download 2 different apps, but in the end it turned out to be an awesome watch. Battery life is incredible... Used it for a week, still had 19 % left. Highly recommended.

I was with Fitbit from its early beginnings & would never have left but for Googles decision to make access to data through Google only. I say that to give measure to my new found joy with Garmin. I will bring specificity and say the additional information about the quality of my sleep is very helpful

…and it’s been the best thing i’ve ever did the battery life lasts more than a week without charging. my apple watch i’d have to charge every day which it was very annoying… also i’ve heard the accuracy of running mileage of garmin is superior than apple so i’ll be sticking with garmin for now. I’ll update this review in a couple months how things going:)

I bought this for my wife to replace her Apple Watch. She’s very happy with it. Way more accurate than her Apple Watch and the battery life is incredible. And it’s cheaper.

This device is amazing, the battery has a long duration even better than other smart watch devices. It's really accurate measurement distances and other health metrics
