There are several convenience features such as buttons for common microwaveable foods, reheat and time/weight defrost that lead to better results.

Called GE for repair and found out that this model was no longer serviced or sold. One-year product warranty required purchase of another microwave "BEFORE" GE reimburses "original microwave cost." Very strange product warranty!
