Door opener doesn’t always open the door

Horrible

Within the first two weeks, the plastic is bubbling and it looks horrible. I tried to return it and was told that I couldn’t return because it was the 16th day. I tried to explain it’s defective and it didn’t matter. Now I’m stuck with this cheap looking microwave that was not cheap. On top on that, every time I heat up my latte it explodes inside getting everywhere and doesn’t actually make it hot.

Broken at 3 weeks past 1 year warranty

Google search suggests that an interlock safety switch has failed and this behavior indicates the failure. Of course it happens one week after warranty. I will not likely buy a GE microwave to replace.

Already Broken

It made a strange noise then turned off. After that, it no longer heats anything up. It turns on, and the plate spins but no longer heats. I attempted to contact an assistant with GE - I made an appointment for help as I was still in the warranty but they canceled my appointment, so I made another one and they canceled again. Been living with this for almost two weeks now and it is just incredibly disappointing and frustrating.

Beware

Now the turn table motor/bearings are making all sorts of noises. Grinding, popping, skipping. If I put something underneath the microwave to put pressure on the unit it seems to go away. I now have to do the warranty process.

Awful Awful Awful

If you needed to microwave anything for 3+ minutes it would just turn off right before sounding like it was going to blow up. The last time it just turned off, it stopped heating entirely. I have not even had it 3 months and it is a brick. I contacted GE for a service, they canceled my appointment and left a voicemail saying they have determined this product isn't worth service appointments.

Also to clarify, this model is a counter top unit and is not designed to be built-in or enclosed in cabinetry. JUNK - AVOID!

Today, November 1, 2024 - 15 months from purchase! - it started turning on by itself when the door is closed. Discovered that this is a VERY COMMON issue with this microwave. $200 wasted. Never buying from Best Buy OR GE again.

PF CODE RIGHT OUT THE BOX!!

After unboxing (one of the stickers was also covering a hole in the plastic on the left side of the display) and plugging it in immediately showed a code now at first I didn't know what that meant so I googled it like anything else and come to find out less than 2 minutes on my counter I got to get upset cause this microwave just replaced the other microwave that broke and it itself is broken nonetheless the fact that FedEx delivered it. Buyers beware and stay away from this product. (PICS WONT LOAD)

Malfunctioned within a week.

However, within a week the fan started making a loud, grating noise. When not making that noise, steam quickly built up inside the microwave, indicating the fan isn't working. It reset itself after shutting down, but does not work properly. GE warranty service has been unimpressive so far.
