I don't know whether that is a long time for a microwave or not. This one has some new settings, i.e. Beverage. I don't use a microwave too often, but it fit right it and works as expected, so I'm happy.

BB was great; Product is cheap

The only reason I gave this review a 3. Bought this microwave to replace the exact model I had. Newer version is incredibly flimsy and the keypad has to be pressed really hard to activate. I anticipate it to last about 1-1.5 years.

Buyer Beware (if replacing older microwave)

I bought this to replace my JVM3160DF4WW (note the 4 in the model number). That model is the one pictured, with the curved handle. What GE says is the same model is a complete redesign and when pressed acknowledges that the newer model is JVM31609WW (note the 9 instead of the 4). The one now being sold has a square handle that is not interchangeable, the doors are not interchangeable, and there are many other changes ("improved" to make it much cheaper). If you're replacing an old JVM3160DFWW, don't buy this on thinking it match the rest of your GE kitchen appliances. My ratings are based on the older model!!
