Less than 2 weeks: the oven quit... The electronic panel did not function right from the beginning. Now, we have to wait hours on the phone to talk to a call center somewhere in Asia -- and days before a replacement...
Also, the website is not too informative. Is it GE??? Shame. Suggest that Best Buy simply quit selling it.

the microwave itself works (it heats) but it only lasted 15 months after purchasing before the LED display started to glitch. Stop making products that don't last. It's wasteful. It will get to a point where you can't read the time or you won't be able to know how much time is left on the timer... or won't be able to read what numbers you just punched in.

Lasted only 2 years... TOTAL PIECE OF JUNK. Limited options on a 1.6 Cu In and they're all TERRIBLE. Replaced this one with a Frigidaire and at least that lasted 5 years but of course it failed with a short A COUPLE MONTHS AFTER THE 5 YR PROTECTION PLAN EXPIRED! WHAT TIMING! BUILT IN PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE TO FAIL AFTER PROTECTION PLANS. GARBAGE!!!

I tried to order this microwave and it said it would take two weeks. It didn’t come. Two weeks after the expected pick up date I contacted customer service and they said it would come in two more weeks. When it was still didn’t come i finally cancelled the order. Six weeks of waiting and still no microwave. Terrible experience. Zero stars!

Piece of junk. Lasted a year. 2nd GE to replace

Lasted just over a year and started throwing the breaker just as others have stated in their review. Now it's popping the 20 amp fuse inside the microwave which is not easy at all to replace since you have to unmount the whole microwave to remove the cover. This is the second GE I've had to replace in the last 5 years.
It also scratches very easy. After the initial installation I scratched the glass with a microfiber cloth just simply removing my fingerprints. It's been in a little over a year (outside of warranty of course) and the plastic over the touch controls is all scratched up.
I only bought this unit because it was the newer version of the unit I was replacing and I thought it would mount up to the same holes.....NOPE. more holes drilled in my cabinets and backsplash.
I wish I would've returned it when I saw how easily it scratched the first night I had it in. If
I hadn't just finished installing it , it would've been returned. Now a year later it's useless. So I'm off to buy another brand, and drill more holes in my cabinets and backsplash. Hopefully the next choice will last at least two years.

Only lasted three years

Purchased this over-the-range microwave three years ago. When the door is shut the light and the fan turn on (but not the actual microwave function) and will stay on until the door is opened. Can't heat anything and the timer doesn't work when the appliance does this. Have to open and close the door multiple times to finally get the appliance to function as intended. Started doing this infrequently about nine months ago, however, does this consistently now. will need to replace as its so very irritating.

I just bought a newer version of this microwave because it was recommended by Consumer Report. I had an older version from 2006 of this model which I was satisfied with. This microwave's vents are in the back of the unit and the sucton is very poor and will not draw steam or smoke if you are sauteeing. Had to call GE, they sent technicIan and that is what I was told. Poor design. Very dissatisfied.

Hello Pamela - this is Nancy at GE. We're sorry to hear that your new GE over-the-range microwave is not venting well. The microwave vent system should remove most heat, steam, and smoke from the cooktop. However, if you are boiling or simmering for long periods of time on the front burners, the vent will not always be capable of capturing all of the excess steam, so it may be necessary to use the back burners in this case. To check the vent, place a tissue flat in your hand. Turn the microwave vent on "high". Place the tissue flat against the vent on the bottom of the microwave and remove your hand. If the vent holds the tissue, then the microwave is venting properly. If it is not holding the tissue, you may want to verify that the unit was vented properly when it was installed. Microwave worked well for about 2 years. Opened the door while it was running because something was overcooking and the breaker flipped. Microwave would turn back on but then flip the breaker everytime with use. Replaced the door switches and it started working again for about 2 months before having the same problem. Replaced again and this time only worked for a couple weeks. Have had the microwave just sitting above the range for the past 2 years for the vent, which is not great. Would not recommend this product even at the low price point.

Short lived appliance

This microwave lasted less than 4 years and I would not recommend it. It was a replacement for a unit (other mfgr.) that also did not last long but did last over 4 years. I bought the GE model for its once great reputation, but I am not sure that any brand is any good in terms of reliability if made in China as most microwaves are now. May as well buy a cheaper model and expect it to break shortly after the warranty is up, if not before. In the not so distant past, I bought microwaves that lasted 10 years or more under heavy use.
At least make them repairable - access to the klystron tube is not easy for the homeowner, but it should be a replaceable item.

It stopped working several times I've had to replug it in I'm actually taking it down and bringing it back. The second microwave I've had to bring back to Best buy. I just want my money back because I've had to pay somebody twice to put it up and now it will be a third time I don't want to go to Best buy ever and I don't think I ever want a GE or in a bandana again because those are the two I bought and the two that were broken

Don't bother with the Geek Squad Protection Plan

Bought this unit along with a 5 year warranty. It blew something internally after being activated and would not function again. Checked house breaker and tried it on a different 20A circuit - still dead. Have called best but 3 times now and been transferred about 10 times. One department says they will outright replace it, the other says it will be "fixed". Can't get s aright answer ... each subdepartment blames the other with neither taking any responsibility. Have had my call dropped and even sent to the general Bset Buy number. Been on hold for over 2.5 hours total. Still no resolution ... don't buy this model or get the Geek Squad Protection Plan.

Warning! Do not purchase this microwave. The numbers and letters on key pad are so light its impossible to see key pad. It is not back lit. I had to have it swapped out which was a waste of time. Why and how its produced this way is idiotic!

Nightmare from the improper install!!

Microwave is fine BUT the install was and still is a nightmare!!! The oven below has had problem since they installed the microwave and they never came back to fix things. When I called the said oh… the install was fine and the case is closed now.
I called and spent 1/2 hr online to get a person who was curt and told me I would get a call back, this never happened.
