Bought July 2019 - had an issue within 40 days after purchase (fan wouldn’t shut off) just past the 30 day return time to Best Buy.
We do not use our microwave that often! Not daily, and maybe just a couple times a week if that, reheating coffee or something.
Not even 1.5 years in but outside of warranty and it won’t shut off!!! No timer running, nothing! Light on and microwave running so I had to unplug. It doesn’t reset and the cost to fix is just as much as I paid for this. I should have listened to the reviews. Don’t buy this microwave.

My old microwave (4 yrs old) wasn't working properly and the technician said it would cost more to fix it than to replace it so I oppted to replace it. I'm not very happy with the new microwave. It sticks out really far from my cabinets for one thing. The buttons need to be pressed much harder than any appliance I've had. It also is not popping my popcorn very well.

The microhood its self is nice (I ordered 1 through homedepot after sending the one I ordered from best buy back). I purchased a open box unit that was rated like new with everything included in the box. When I got it home and pulled everything out, the attachment points on the top side were damaged to the point that one was pulled out of the casework, and the other was loose. It had been installed, and then deinstalled poorly. Best buy did not do their job checking it before relisting it. The parts missing/damaged are required to hang the microhood. Without them in placed and undamaged, you can not install it. I will not be buying any more appliances from best buy in the near future.

We bought this beautiful GE microwave 2 years ago. Unfortunately, the unit stopped working correctly (would not heat food). We are very disappointed and realize things are not made as well as they once were. We really loved this microwave too.

Microwave works well but the vent is insanely loud and yet doesn't pull much air at all from under the stove. Odd. I pulled it down and double checked to make sure the fans were in the correct orientation and they were... Still barely pulls any air at all through the lower vent. Steam just floats up around it.
Hey there, we're glad to know your microwave is working well, but we're sorry its vent fan isn't working well. We can certainly see why this would be so annoying and we're happy to help. The tissue test below can be used to check proper draw of the vent: Turn the vent fan on HIGH and hold a tissue or paper towel under the vent area. The suction should hold the tissue or paper towel in place. The draw is equal on both sides. It is normal to have some air blowing out of the top grill. If the unit does not hold the tissue or paper towel, check for proper installation of the fan ductwork. Refer to the installation instructions for complete instructions. If your microwave is vented internally we recommend replacing the charcoal filter every 6-12 months depending on usage. If the vent is installed properly and is still not drawing, we recommend scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. So my whole kitchen suite is GE. Have been really happy about them.....until now. The microwave completely died at 1.5 years old. GE wants nearly as much as a new microwave to fix. Extremely disappointed in what I thought was a good company that built reliable products. Will be going with a whirlpool now. DO NOT BUY.

Purchased in Nov. 2016. Lasted less than 2 years. Just stopped working one day. The cost to repair was almost same as replacing.
Very disappointing. No discount offered from BB or GE to replace. I guess GE is no longer a quality brand. Will check other stores and brands.

Absolutely Horrible Product and Worse Service!!

As an Elite Plus member, I purchased this microwave from Best Buy Online and it has been a FIASCO from the very beginning!!!. First I was called the night before the scheduled initial delivery date that the machine was on backorder; I had taken time off from work to be at the house for delivery. It finally was delivered two weeks later (1 month after ordering) and the machine died the FIRST TIME it was used, just warming up vegetables!!! Overheated, no fan, never came back on. The store honored the reorder, but we are now again waiting for the machine to be delivered. The first delivery date was set and they called again the afternoon before delivery to tell me it was backordered. The next delivery date was set and the same drill happened!!! Now we have another delivery date set for 3 weeks out; over 2 months after the order was made. Although I was told a supervisor was going to call me to discuss the situation, no one has called. What is the story with their inventory control and manufacturer communications?This is absolutely ridiculous and totally uncalled for! HORRIBLE customer service and bad, inexcusably poor technology!
