    Okay For the Price

The central wash arm rising through both racks seriously hampers loading options. Although the manufacturer boasts about a service for 12 capacity, I never have that many place settings at once. Because of the wash arm, loading large mixing bowls or pans wastes valuable space. The wash system also cannot handle dried on foods like oatmeal or raw egg. It's a waste of time and water/energy to prewash dishes. The mechanical control option indicators are difficult to read. I don't use heated drying and have a difficult time telling if this option is off/on so I try to be close by to pull the electric supply at the end of the wash cycle. The noise level is acceptable. Overall, you get what you pay for.

    Best Birthday Gift ever!

Very reliable, always does a great job cleaning dishes (pots too). I love the dual function... extra counter space and just role it over to the sink to clean the dishes. There is a plastic ring in the hose end that attaches to the faucet. Every once in a while when i go to put them together, i have trouble because this little disk gets knocked out of place. Only happens occasionally though and i have always been able to just push it back in to fix it. Would definitely recommend this dishwasher!

    More Counter/Work Space

Don't hold off like we did, for we have a cramp and small kitchen with no space for a built in dishwasher. We thought this portable was too big and bulky, but we were wrong. This unit has completely eliminated unwashed dishes in the sink, and added additional counter/work space, which is terrific. Plus, the unit is very quiet compared to most built ins that we've had at other homes. At the sale price, this is a bargain and a work saver with an additional bonus of an additional counter top. Our only regret was that we didn't purchase this unit sooner, for until we get it loaded with dishes, it acts as a vault for a day or two, and hides all the unsightly dishes until the load is big enough to wash. This way we save money on electricity and water too by doing one big load all at once. This unit stores a lot of dishes and doesn't take up valuable counter space or shelf space, for it stands in the middle of the small kitchen like an island. Yes, we bought our unit from Best Buy and the service we received from GE has been outstanding, for they have replaced the timer and faucet fitting promptly. No worries.

works great, very easy, quiet, attractive

I just bought this a few days ago. The delivery was great, they brought it in and removed all the packaging. The only set up needed was to change out the faucet heads, and the needed one came with. The attatchement/hose mechanism just snaps right on faucet head quickly and the hose and power cord store neatly inside the back of the unit. The only drawback is that I miss my swivel aerator, but it's definitely worth the sacrifice. The manual strongly recommends to detach the sprayer mechanism on your sink. I know many people who haven't done this, so I thought it would be fine to ignore the suggestion. The pressure backup burst the hose on the sprayer so I had to get rid of it anyway. That aside, it's a great washer. Much quieter than I anticipated. It has a nice top rack, good heated or cool dry, several settings and jet dry holder. It got all my dishes and pots very clean even without prewashing. I am very satisfied with the purchase and I'm grateful for my dishwasher everytime I go in my kitchen!

It may seem like a lot of money, but this dishwasher is one of the cheapest full-size ones out there. I think it works great as far as thorough cleaning goes. The only drawback is that the heat drying doesn't seem to work very well. I'd recommend running it at night and letting it sit for a full 12 hours before putting dishes away, otherwise you're going to have to hand dry everything. Overall though, I think it's good quality for the money spent.

    Louder & Louder

I bought this and have really liked it. I have had it for two months and used almost daily. I noticed it seemed to be getting louder and louder. I checked dishes looked for something dropped down. Couldnt find anything. Abought that time the connector at the faucet, the part that passes through hot water, if u push it, the button sticks and continues to run hot water into the sink and wont turn off. Eventually after you leave it off a day or two it will stop but REMEMBER DONT HIT THE BUTTON! It will start the dribble ordeal all over again. I sure am glad I installed mine cause when I called for service they told me if it was still on the wheels would be considered a carry in for repair. At 135 lbs, that seems crazy. I Hope it lasts and they can correct this loudness because other then that and the faucet connector leaking constant hot water into the sink, I love it. So I am torn... I am giving the techs the benfit of the doubt and hoping they can fix the roaring grind noise. If they can not two of them stars don't count!

    Great Value

I didn't expect it to be a quiet as it is, and there is plenty of room for a full load of dishes. I have a very small kitchen so the extra counter space is another plus with this dishwasher. The worst this is not a product problem. I have to move it to the sink, and that is very easy to do.

This dishwasher was great for the first 5 uses but after i tried to close the soap dispenser door the 6th time the unit apparently broke or came loose internally. the handle attached to the dispenser door is made of all plastic and something came loose or broke in the main door to where the handle simply fell out. i didnt even turn it that hard, just normally and not all the way closed before it broke. This unit is great to use if something doesnt go wrong but watch out if it breaks. Just tried to call for warranty repair and it appears out of warranty, and its not even 2 weeks old! Definitely dont recommend this product!

    GE Portable Dishwaser

The portable dishwasher I purchased within the month is doing great. I have no real complaints about it. Being it was a discontinued floor model, and had parts missing I am not mad. I went to a hardware store, and was able to find what was needed at a minimal cost, went home and had it running in no time. PLUS I now have extra counter space! The sales associates that worked with me were great also. They did not try to add anything to the deal. They just let me purchase what I wanted to purchase.

    Wonderful dishwasher

This dishwasher is wonderful. It rolls easily across my floor and hooks up in less than 10 seconds! Does a great job washing my dishes and dries them perfectly also. When I'm finished I just roll it back to its resting spot and I'm done. Takes a little over an hour for a load of dishes to be completed though, so make sure you have time and you're not in a rush to get them cleaned. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone wanting to purchase a dishwasher. Save yourself the cost of installation and get this portable one instead.

It's attractive and provides additional counter space to the kitchen. It is one of the least-expensive portable dishwashers, and it's definitely better than a portable I used 20 years ago (but that one was a real piece of junk). I have had no problems with it leaking and it does an adequate job. I always soak and rinse dishes before putting in the dishwasher, as in my experience only the best of dishwashers lets me get away with not doing this, and then I can skip the first cycle and save electricity besides. This one is average in washing ability. The design of the racks is good, allowing for flexibility in how you load it. It rolls easily and I haven't noticed it causing any scratches to my cheap, easily-scratched vinyl floor. Complaint: No status light. (This is a timer dial model.) I didn't think this would be such a big deal until I tried to use it. It has a knob that you turn to put it on the desired cycle. This doesn't seem hard until you try it. The problem is hinted at in the "Installation Instructions" that come with it: "Turn dial just enough to start dishwasher. Dial should point to 'Hot Start'. Do not turn the dial too far. If you turn it too far you will 'by pass' [sic] the fill... Check to be sure that water enters this dishwasher. This could take up to 4 minutes on dial models. [Do they mean 4 minutes before water starts flowing, or 4 minutes until it's full?] If water does not enter the dishwasher... On dial models, make sure you did not turn the dial past the first fill. If the happened, unlatch the door and rotate the dial to 'Off'. Re-latch door and turn the dial one click at a time until the dishwasher starts." Anyway, I've never had a problem turning a dishwasher dial to just where I wanted it - until I got this dishwasher. After I move this summer, I'll either buy an electronic model or an entirely different one, just because of the dial's lack of feedback for the user. Buyer Heads-Up: It's heavy. Do yourself a favor and get a dolly so that you won't have to take the protective cardboard and crate off until once it's safely in the house. Save the crate and cardboard in case you have to take it back. Pray you won't have to.

I LOVE it overall, I bought the 3 year warranty, so if anything goes wrong they'll fix it. It was a returned floor model, so I got $100 off and with the warranty it was basically the same as a new one but had the $100 warranty free. It does a great job cleaning dishes, pots and pans can be tricky due to size, but overall a GREAT value. Id buy another. LOVE IT.

    Decent Unit...

The countertop feature is very nice to have around. The wheels roll easily and it's not that heavy to move around. It's a pretty basic dishwasher so there isn't a whole lot to be said about its features. The price, I think, is in-line with the feature/capability so no complaints there. The only downer that I found was that it's a bit loud...

Ended up in a house w/o a dishwasher so for a temporary stay and need the portable dishwasher is awesome and works well! Keeps the dishes clean and would not exist very well w/o it! Would suggest it for anyone w/o a dishwasher to fix the problem! Very pleased!

This was easy to hook up. It took five minutes to change the fitting on my tap and I was up and running. Ran a load of dirty dishes before I went to sleep and in the morning they were good and clean. It does a great job and I expect it will do so for years to come. The counterop is attractive and the machine fits my kitchen in every way.

I thought it might be the way we were loading the dishes or maybe not enough Jet Dry, but nothing we do imporves the washing. There is always food residue left on the dishes on the top rack (no, we are not blocking the sprayer). This has been frustrating for us. We're hoping to get our money back and buy something that will clean our dishes.

Frankly, after reading the reviews of this GE dishwasher, I thought this would be my best buy. Boy, was I wrong! This machine does not clean the dishes. The finished dish looks as if, it was just rinsed off in the sink. The quality is very poor. I am in the process of taking the GE back an purchasing a Maytag!
