Five burners, of 4 different sizes works for small single servings in a small pan up to Thanksgiving meals on the big burner. Left two burners are same size, great for a griddle. Grates are heavy. And easy to remove for cleaning. Knobs are plastic.

We cook on this nightly. This is our second one of the same model since 2018 when we built the house. Sadly in the middle of last year the large front burner stopped working, the knob wouldn’t turn. Then a few months ago a second burner went out of commission with the same issue. As I said at the beginning this gets a workout from us. We were happy enough with the overall performance to replace it with the same model. This time we paid extra for insurance. So far great cooktop!

We bought this for our kitchen and hooked it up to propane instead of gas. It is easy to clean, easy to use and it cooks great. We wish we had switched earlier! It was easy to install, and we were able to do it ourselves. We love it and again the only regret was we didn't do this sooner.

There isn't anything spectacular about this cooktop but it mostly does the job. Sometimes the big burner in the middle takes too long to ignite. It looks nice in my space though.

Product is good. Few issues
1. Gets scartches very easily. I fact the back was having lot of scratches when opened
2. Knobs are made of plastic and melted in two days. Ordered a replacement stainless steel knobs from Amazon
We'd like to assist with the scratches on your cooktop by providing some tips. Cleaners that contain Oxalic Acid, such as Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser, can often help reduce the appearance of the scratches. For visible scratches, there is not an approved repair method to cover the scratches. or additional care and cleaning information, you can refer here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16574
We are sorry to hear that the knobs melted. We recommend visiting our GE Appliances Parts website for future orders on any parts needed.

center burner is great to have for big pots. As always, things get between the grates, but easy clean up when you lift grates off.

seems to be a good product.... so far.
this is our 3rd cooktop in 32 years, so 10 years seems to be the limit on any new appliance these days. I self installed it and it was easy, just had to change out the orifices to propane, and a couple of new fittings but that was all easy as well. i might have a different opinion in 5 years if this one starts breaking down and parts become unavailable as in the past. that's the way of the world now, no parts? just go buy new one please, what's $1300 when a $25 valve could have fixed the old one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

My 1 star rating is less about the product and more about the installation and service through Best Buy. You can buy this range top (and all appliances) anywhere for about the same price, so the only distinguishing feature in these sales is service. Bottom line: Based on my service experience, I regret going to Best Buy for this purchase and strongly advise other shoppers to go elsewhere.
And now, the longer story. My microwave had flamed out and my oven was on its last breath. I was actively searching to replace those two items, and get the matching stove top. After being mostly ignored by my first Best Buy sales person (even after they sent someone to my house for the measurements), I went to Lowes for the same product suite (at the same price).
The Best Buy sales person who had done the measurements at my house caught me just before I signed with Lowes to assure me they wanted my business. He told me there was a great President's day sale going on and if I bought with them that weekend, I was assured a great price on this product suite. He also said we could get these products installed in the next week. This was important to me since my microwave was broken and the oven barely functional.
I appreciated what appeared to be the proactivity of this other sales person and made the purchase with Best Buy. The first thing that went wrong was that they were not able to honor the originally discussed delivery dates. They could install the oven on time, but not the microwave or stovetop. Since my broken microwave was driving the sense of urgency in making this purchase, this was bad news. I was also told I would have to buy an additional trim kit for the stove top based on the measurements they took.
Ok, I decided there was nothing to be done but wait, and take the products as they came in. The oven installation went well, as scheduled.
Two weeks later, it was time for the microwave and stove top installation. The second set of installers came earlier than scheduled, with a 10 minute "heads up" call, and a horrible attitude ("we never make people happy, so I have stopped trying").
The timing was problematic because it was the exact time when my11 month old wakes from her nap and has lunch. We adjusted her schedule by having her sitter take her for a stroller ride so they could do the installation.
In addition to his rude manner, the installer tells me he has to cut out sides of the cabinet where the microwave would be installed, and was going to charge me an additional $100 for this 5 minute added work.
Then, they tell me that I would not need the additional trim kit for the stove top that the sales person told me to order. Fortunately, the trim kit was delivered on the same day as this installation, so I was able to refuse the shipment and get a partial refund.
I asked the installers to please hurry since we were pushing past my baby's lunch time and we needed the stove top to heat up her meal. They finished an hour later. When I turned on the stove top, both the sitter and I smelled a strong gas smell that caused us both concern. We quickly heated the meal, and then I called the gas company. They came soon after, affirmed there was a gas leak, and shut off our main gas feed.
It was late afternoon by this point, so of course, we were unable to get a plumber to address the issue until morning. Our house went without gas (thus, no heat or hot water in early March) that night and next day.
Next day, plumbers checked for leaks around the stove and throughout the house, seeking to be extra thorough. The gas company has said that leak might be sloppy installation, but could also have been a piping issue inside the wall, so the plumbers had to conduct extended testing to rule that out. After testing most of the day, it was determined that the leak was due to poor installation. We finally got the gas company out that next evening. Tightening the connection of the new gas line had cleared up the problem.
The plumbers send me an invoice for $615. I had them complete some smaller home maintenance items while they waited for their tests to determine where the leak was coming from, but $460 was directly attributable to testing and service related to cleaning up the mess made by Best Buy's installers.
My sales person said he would escalate the issue to their corporate representative, which he did. I spoke with her on a few occasions, and she assured me she was doing all she could to get this plumbing bill paid by the company. It is now April 11, five weeks later, and ... nothing. Not a peep. No response to my emails.
They did reimburse me for the part of the stove top trim kit return that the manufacturer did not credit me (restocking fee). But otherwise, my installation cost me an additional $460 due to poor quality installation.
Since you can get the same products at just about any "big box" store, go to one who honors their due dates, hires top quality installers, and makes financial amends when their service is below expectations. Based on my experience - this is not Best Buy.

The worst cook too ever by GE! I have never seen anything this! I should have done my research and it’s out there everywhere that customers are not happy with this product. You get only CONS for your money. 1. Poor quality stainless steel that scratches easy. 2. Poor qulity knobs that’s literally melts! 3. Stains and just does not clean well 4. Takes longer time to cook THE WORST BUY for my money

Reasonable price for a a good looking 5 burner stove. Works really well.
Installation was a hassle as the installers said they would have to cut more of the granite and were charging me hundreds of dollars extra. Had a handyman do it for a fraction of the cost. Hence the one star penalty.

This unit works well and is a big upgrade over our former one. I recommend checking it out in person if you can before ordering. One thing we didn't realize when we bought it was how tall the grates are, it was a big more than we expected.

My home will only accommodate a 30" Cooktop and because the way our cabinets are integrated in our Granite Top there's no room for our desired size of 36 inches so we always had to settle for a 4 Burner in the 30 inch size. My wife and I saw this 5 Burner size made by GE and decided to give it a try. My wife Loves it! Happy Wife Happy Life! Thanks G.E.

I love this cooktop. It looks great on my counter. The only bad thing is the bottom knobs are too close to the grill. I accidentally burned one when I was using a large pan
