GREAT CHOICE

The new unit is almost identical except the knobs are much more attractive and the main burner is now on the left side instead of the right. Operationally the cook top preforms flawlessly . Easy to turn on heat distribution is excellent on all four burners. The grates are sturdier and the previous unit and cleanup from a spill was super easy. I am very glad that we chose to remain with the same model as the old one.

The issues came with the installation process. We were sold the "premium tier" total tech coverage, which we were told would cover the cost of installation. But when the 3rd party contractor came to do the installation, we were charged an additional S100 surprise fee, which we were not warned about upfront.

I had several problems getting it installed and the electric cooktop hauled away, but thanks to a couple of calls to customer service, the issues were resolved. Moral of the story....don't buy a major appliance online for a long distance installation.

Never had stainless steel before (prior cooktop was glass) and have to get used to not scratching when cleaning the top. As for performance, it easily handled a thanksgiving dinner for over 20 with room for several large pots and pans. Also, need to get used to the different BTUs from each burner, but think that this is ultimately a positive feature.
