The lights have two brightnesses and work well. A remote control can be purchased, but for our purposes, we don’t need it.

Only complaint is the extension that travels up to the ceiling was too short. I have 9 feet ceilings in my kitchen. Even though this says it fits ceilings up to 9 feet, it will but your range hood will be super high. Way above the recommended distance from the cooktop. Had to buy an extension. Wish it would come without the extension for a lower price then you buy the size you need separately. 8 feet ceilings, no problem. 9 feet? Expect to buy the extension.

Too bright and too blue, without the easy choice of dimming. A simple addition of a dimming control would move this review up to 4 or five stars!

Posted .We appreciate your thoughts on the lighting! For added flexibility, this model features a Light button that cycles through On, Night, and Off. Press the Light button to turn the lights on, again to set the lights to night setting, and again to turn off. Lauren@GEAppliances

Great product sloppy hardware

The duct cover will not work for a 9' ceiling. The holes in the brackets for the duct covers didn't line up and I needed to drill new ones. The screws to mount the duct covers are small and next to the wall so they are hard to install. For the price paid the installation process is terrible.
