Horrific Design GTW725BPNODG
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DON’T BUY!!!!!! ONE STAR OVERRATING! I’ve only had this machine less than 24 hours and hate it, hate it, hate it! The only thing good about this machine is it’s looks and the glass lid, other than that, this machine I would like to take a sledgehammer to! I spend more time standing there at the machine trying to get the WATER level where it needs to be, which is a nightmare! Even if you finally figure out you’ve got to hold that deep fill button for three seconds, it still does not give enough water. The first rinse is just a SPRAY rinse which, leaves yuckie stuff all over your clothes, second rinse helps. Unless, you are a very tall person you’re not getting your clothes out of the bottom of the washer without a stool! (I’m 5’1) The dryer that goes with this machine is not any better, cloths come out damp you have to reset. Ready for the fight, because I’m calling Best Buy I don’t want this machine! Do yourself a favor and don’t buy one.

Washer good, customer service needs some help
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ease of ordering online and being professionally delivered and installed all went superbly. Washer is great & quiet with so many options at your disposal however the customer support team is not. I bought 2 major appliances and was expecting to receive a 100.00 best buy card but they never delivered their promise. Be care full of gift card promotions, don't count on them. Going to cancel my 2nd appliance since it wont be delivered until after the new year and they are not going to honor the best buy gift card.

Did they time this perfect or what
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Exactly 1 year and 1 month from the day I purchased this washer, it has now failed. The lid lock mechanism no longer operates and as such, the washer will not run at all. It even failed during filling of the machine, so it was stuck with a load of dirty clothes and water. I ended up finding the service manual (which is how I was able to read the failure code for the lid lock the machine was putting out) and was able to run the diagnostic test for the drain pump, so at least I managed to get much of the water out. With a 1 year warranty, the failure of the part sure was timed perfectly As for when it was running, it has the same limitations of every washer you can now purchase new: does not use enough water to get the clothes clean - even with "Deep Fill". This is a case of an appliance being regulated out of functionality. Same goes for dishwashers. The government limitations on the amount of water that can be used is so restrictive that it is insufficient to get my clothes clean. I will not buy a new washer again. Or a new dishwasher, either, as they have the same problem. Extending the wash cycle is the manufacturers' only possible remedy to the problem, but it only goes so far. To me it seems a little ridiculous that in order to save a little water, an excessive amount of electricity has to be used. One other thing about the washer that struck me as odd was that when I put it on Drain & Spin, the washer started filling before it drained and spun. I expected it to just start draining and then spin dry. It does have a nice, large, stainless steel tub and is fairly quiet and the "Towels and Sheets" setting with the extended "Deep Fill" (hold down the "Deep Fill" button for 3 seconds to set extended Deep Fill) will fill it up more than any other cycle, but still not enough. At least for draining, it has a "2nd Rinse" option under the rinsing's Deep Fill setting. (The rinsing "Deep Fill" is required if you use fabric softener. I guess there is not enough water during a rinse cycle even to distribute the liquid fabric sotftener adequately.) I wish I had just gotten my previous washer repaired instead. Now I have to fork out some more money to fix a washer I don't think does the job very well.

Washer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a nice washer, a little on the noisy side, but not bad, cleans well, wish it was like the older models where it would hold water longer then 2 hrs, my wife uses it for her massage business. Cleans the oil off the towels very well.

Best washing machine I've ever had
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great technology with no shortcuts! The tub size is more than adequate and the clothes come out dryer than my old machine, and not wrinkled up. The NASA-style controls might seem intimidating but they really aren't. It has so many options but you really won't be changing often. The "precise fill" mode for water level is great. works perfectly. And yes, if you have more items to add, you just hit the pause button, open the lid and add it, close the lid and press pause again and it continues. The form and finish is excellent and makes my old dryer look shabby next to it.

Great versatile washer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use and has sufficient number of controls. With agitator and ability to adjust water level as I need, does a great job of cleaning various types of loads. Much quiter than my previous machine.

Better than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading all the negative reviews and after a month of use I found this machine to be better than expected. The noise is just different but certainly no louder than the 20 year old GE it replaced. The locking mechanism should not be a deterrent as it isn't as bad as the reviews I read. You can open the lid during the wash cycle. You must read the manual to get an understanding of the machine. I basicly operate this machine just as I did my old GE. More options but I have figured out what I need and keep it basic. I find that this strategy works for me. The clothes come out clean. I can adjust the water level to my satisfaction after experiencing how the machine operates under the different fill options. Some reviews spoke about the machine moving but I haven't had that experience. It probably is because my machine is in my basement on a concrete floor. I only hope the computer components of this machine can stand up to time. I took the five year extened warranty just in case. .

Washes clothes well!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer works great so far [only have had it 1 month]. It does use more water than some of the other styles but I like being able to pick which features I want for the load, rather than what the computer program requires. It isn't as "heavy duty" as the last washer I had [which was more energy efficient but I had more trouble with it than any washer I've ever owned]. I also like the fact that with the extended warrenty, if there is a break down, I will be dealing with Best Buy directly.

great washing machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After suffering over 4 years with a HE machine, it finally died. I am loving my new washing machine. I love that I can control the water level and soak laundry. My laundry is much cleaner. I do not find laundry tangled as others said and I do not find the machine to be too loud. The spin cycle is very efficient. I am pleased with my purchase. I did purchase the 5 year warranty. .

Efficient, but noisy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We like this machine. It cleans very well, and has a relatively short wash cycle, depending on settings. The spin cycle seems to remove most water, so dryer times are decreased. It is pretty noisy, though, so I would recommend it only for homes where the laundry room is away from the living areas.

Washes well but shimmies during spin cycle
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This top loading, pedestal in the center GE washing machine is great at getting clothes clean with plenty of choices in doing it. However...the washer shakes during the spin cycle. I have stopped it and re-distributed the weight and it still shakes. My conclusion? This gloriously big tubbed washer is made to be used with a bigger load because when I have it fuller, it doesn’t shake as much. I believe it’s made to wash more clothes at a time, probably for larger families, because of the large capacity and since things are made lighter these days, it shimmies more, as compared to the old washing machines (I had a Kenmore for 20 years that did not shake during spin.) Go to YouTube and you will see a gentleman with a flag on his GE washing machine and he’s showing that it shimmies during spin and he said that GE said this was normal. So if your machine shimmies like this but doesn’t walk all over, stays in place, apparently that’s within the normal range according to GE.

Great washer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so happy to be able to find an HE washer with an agitator still. These are few and far between anymore. Unit works great. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars was because the water does fill quite high enough for the load size.

Great, but had to have serviced
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The washer worked great for three loads; then, stopped spinning. Repair person came out and said the belt slipped off, because of a bold that did not go into attach the motor, and the robot put another one in. The loose bolt caused the belt to come off. If the washer doesn't need further servicing, I would say it does an excellent job in cleaning. My concern is of course that it needed to be serviced after the third load.

Solid Washer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice washer and at a good price. HE rated and has all the options you would expect from a washer. Only aspect I disliked was that during the spin cycle it seemed a little noisier than what I'm used to with my previous Samsung washer. Overall, still pleased about the washer and dryer set.
