Geek Squad Computer Repair

Promised repair and return in 2-3 days. After nearly 10 days the computer wasn't repaired and the solution was a suggestion to buy a newer computer. After getting another computer specialist former employee to call them, who is on the other side of the country, they were able to at least get it running again without having to get Dell disks and rebuild the whole computer which would have taken days and I would have had to get the original disks. Considering that I was travelling and no where near this kind of information, this was unacceptable and per my guy, not needed.
When I complained about paying $200 for service that was way below ANY acceptable reason, I was told by the General Manager that it was not possible to refund my money. I then expressed my intent to take it directly to Best Buy Corp., still to no avail. However the Geek squad supervisor who did finally get involved after over a week, stated that he would refund my payment. This happened. Despite his correct handling of the situation finally, I will NEVER bring my computer back to Best Buy again. In addition, I will make it a personal effort to let everyone I know, that this was handled poorly by Best Buy management and I will do my best to persuade people away from the Geek Squad.

I brought my dell 630i in for repair and paid 250 for what i believed would give me an accurate and complete review of why my computer was giving me the blue screen of death. The warranty recently expired and i did not want to pay for dell to come repair it, although they had in the past and were complete and accurate in their repairs. I did not recieve a call for over a week and i walked into the store and found they had done their evaluation and it had been completed. The geek squad attendand told me i would need a new motherboard and handed me my cpu back in pieces. They did not have information on the motherboard but told me to bring it back to have it installed. I then went home and called dell and after 2.5 hours recieved that info. I then ordered the 160.00 board and returned with with cpu. They told me they would call as soon as it was ready. The next day they called and told me they would need to replace the power supply for an additional 130.00 i then told them to do the repair. I then walkee into the store a day or two later and they told me they now needed to replace the processor. The agent commenced to agruing with me concerning the repairs and the needs for the previous repairs. I then asked for a manager and they bascially stated they did not know what the problems with the cpu were and gave me back my cpu ( in pieces again) and refunded my geek squad expense. Im now out of a cpu, while attending college, and out the expenses of the additional parts purchased. I would have just bought a new cpu from best buy, had that been their original suggestion, yet after this experience i believe i will only continue to use best buy for my sprint cell phone service and nothing further.
