The techs seemed not to want to deal with a dial-up service. I still have one problem that I will need to call for service to correct.

I am glad I purchased the Geek Squad Tech support.

Tech support is expensive for something that we should never have to use. So far we haven't but we bought the support for peace of mind.

So. I had to have it done all over to and pay more money to an expert that made computer right again. I will be in to speak to the manager about this. I won't throw a fit, but he will not like what I tell him re what happened and if I am not compensated in some way, lots of people will hear about it.... soon. horrible experience. They were not impolite however. The geeksquad programs off my computer and added what they wanted to. I did not have a virus by the way, and only asked for a diagnostic test.... huge mistake. I had to have everything fixed by a real expert that cost me money and he put things I wanted back on. I will be in very soon to speak to the manager about this. Oh, they never installed Kapersky... however they were polite. Terrible experience.

Purchased new HP laptop, and was told Geek Squad could install data from old laptop for ~$100~. Brought old one in. It still worked, but was sluggish. Next day they called and said hard drive crashed and all data was lost. They said they were not equipped to try and save data, but that it could be sent out to be fixed, and could possibly cost $1500-2000 to retrieve data from hard drive. They really did not seem overly concerned that they botched things up, and lost all my important data. I picked the machine up, and called a local computer expert who was able to retrieve all my data for under $300. Now, am happy with new laptop, but I would not use Geek Squad again.
