brought my laptop in to be repaired--was freezing while online
was told my hard drive was failing
was left a message to bring in recovery disc
tried to contact bestbuy for 4 days with no reply
finally went to the store was told because i did not make an appointment would have to wait 2 hours to talk to a tech
needed my serial number on my laptop so i could order recovery disc
and was told i had to wait or make an appointment
regardless i picked up my laptop 2 days later
had my laptop checked with another business and was told i had a virus
they fixed it and my laptop works perfect
what a joke--dont purchase plan

If I had known that the Geek Squad wouldn't be able to do any more other than recommend a new computer, I wouldn't have spent the money. If I do buy a new computer, it will not be from the same retailer, but online.

Could not transfer hard drive in store - could send it off to "recovery center" - "might be able to do it" at a cost of $250 to $750. Opted out. Local computer business transferred all info from old hard drive for $90. I have one year support from the "Geek Squad" which I paid for, but be assured I will not use it. Geek squad representatives are polite, but their expertise is questionable.

I would not buy this service again because I had a bad experience with the people at geek squad, it wasn't until I complained to the store manager and geek squad manager that I received phone calls from the manager about the work and progress of the work I was getting done.

I would NEVER ever again let the Princeton NJ Geek Squad near anything again. I decided instead of doing it myself, I would let them tune up my 4 year computer. Never did I expect them to ruin it and make ti unusable. I must have been a fool to trust these so called "experts." I couldn't make up what they did and then how they never even had the courtesy to call me. I had to call them multiple times to find out the status of my repair. I guess when they ruin things they are not anxious to call you back. Stay away and never let them near any of your equipment. I eventually got my subscription reversed.

Brought my 3 year old Dell XPS Studio in with a video problem. Diagnosed as a bad video card, then a bad hard drive, then a bad power supply. Throughout the process the only info I got was by calling the 800 number. Calls to the local Geek squad were mostly unreturned. The process dragged on for 3 weeks. I finally gave up and purchased an IMac. After canceling my Geek squad protection, I repurchased it for the Mac only because the salesperson assured me that they sent IMac repairs out of house.

I bought this because I needed data recovery done on one computer and a new fan put into another. It would have cost me less, I believe, to pass up on this and pay full price since they won't work on my fan. They will send it out. There are not discounts on sent out items.

Since this was my first experience with Windows 8, I decided to purchase a Geek Squad agreement. Before I left the store I stopped at the Geek Squad counter and asked the manager some questions regarding migrating from Vista to Windows 8. He couldn't answer the questions.
I had some issues at startup and called for assistance. I spent over an hour on the phone with the tech who finally admitted that he was unfamiliar with Windows 8. He then transferred me to someone else and I got cut off.

I was very confused when I left and I have had to figure out the computer on my own. it was a total waste of my time. She played around on the computer while I watched, when I asked questions she even said, "have you never owned a computer!" I am very sorry I invested in the Geek Squad package, unless something changes I will never do it again. It was the reason I purchased my Mac Pro from Best Buy, i though I would get good costumer service. I will probably go to Apple next time. :-(

The tech was supposed to Download new security software on my computer and delete the old security software. Although the tech documented he completed these tasks, he did not. As for the next two weeks after picking up my computer I was experiencing the same problems. Finally the geek squad from the 1800 line completed the work remotely. It's confusing to me as how you document you downloaded the new system and yet you did not. This caused a lot of issues for.me with regards to work.

I recently had in some work done on a computer that was working & had programs on it. I wanted data transfered to a drive so it could be saved, some of this data may have been in the partition. When I got the tower back it had no data nor did it have any programs on it. I was supposed to hav atleast 7.5 Gig of data one the external drive only to find 760 mb of data that wont transfer to my other computer. I have not yet gone back to the store & may not as I don't trust their work anymore.
