Really mixed feelings about the Geek Squad. I'd been in an even bigger jam if I hadn't had them, but it was a nightmare. They just wipe everything off and give it back to you with nothing on it. Enjoy your thousand dollar paperweight.

The person who was in charge to install the necessary operating system and windows program left my laptop mc book air undone with a promise that he can do it and finish the job since I have a flight to catch. It ended as me doing the unfinished job. I returned and asked for a refund since I don't want to avail anymore of the geek squad services and was told by the saleslady that I will get a refund in my credit card but it did not happen.. Asking me to do this review just proved to say that I was billed and yes it showed in my credit card bill. So pls give me my refund

I had specific instructions they were not followed

When I brought my computer in for a tune up I made certian instructions about keeping my antiviris, firewall. antimalware and antispyware. I also did not want any other program installed. These instructions were ignored. Apparently the programs are still in my computer but I cannot access them. Also other programs such as the Garmen express is not available to me so I cannot update my gps. Now I will have to be inconvienced by taking my computer into the store again and have these things fixed. This will probably take several days and I will not have the use of my computer during that time. If your people would follow instructions I would have programs that I am used to and have worked well for me.

I took my computer in to replace the main drive. Service was poor and it took a total of five trips back to the store before I finally got my computer back. And the trips had to be made during Christmas traffic and each round trip was 10 miles. When I began to use my fixed computer I found they had installed Windows Business Vista which was quite different from the system I had been using. Also I could not hook up my printer and had several people look at it and they couldn't do it either so I had to buy a new printer. All in all, a very disappointing experience.

My laptop got infected with the Cryptolock virus. Geek squad tech in Pleasant Hill store told me they could fix it without having to restore my system and that I could save my files. Turns out that didn't happen but it sure didn't change the price. Not only that, they didn't tell me that when I picked it up so I didn't realize it until later when I saw that all my word processing files were corrupted.

Best Buy customer for over 20 years and RZ Silver customer, so long time BB fan. Took my laptop in for the Geek Squad to upgrade it to Win 8 under the GS support plan....BIG MISTAKE! When my laptop was returned, nearly 2 weeks later, after about an hour of use, my touchpad stopped working and other functions began to fail. Took it back, and several days later it was returned. The next day, it failed. Took it back ,and several more days later it was returned with assurances that all was working fine........worked about 1 hour after I got it home, then crashed again! Now, have written to management and awaiting reply. In this case, Geek Squad support has been a totally worthless experience!

Took computer into Best Buy Geek Squad to repair a PC that did not boot. Purchased 255 for tech support for a 1 year to include Kaspersky. Had to return the computer a second time to resolve the problem. When finally returned discovered that Kaspersky was not installed. Took several hours to obtain the license we paid for. Then we received an email from Kaspersky indicating our subscription expire 2/15. This is less than 30 days after paying for a 1 year subscription. Poor service, did not deliver all products purchased, very dissatisfied.

Useful help for people with little experience, but only needed for computer novices. Staff told me it can be cancelled within 60 days. Glad I checked, that is true only for premier customers (paid). So I cancelled within the 2 week period.

Brought my computer in because it was showing message "detecting arrays". Told me the problem. Took two weeks. Removed every program on computer. Problem reappeared one week later. Had filled out survey inviting Geek Squad to contact me to discuss, (twice). Never contacted me. Will never use Geek Squad again!

I was very disappointed the first and only time I used the service. My problem was not resolved after 1 1/2 hours on the phone. I had to go to the store to a resolution to my issue.

While the agents were friendly enough, using this tech support at this Best Buy in Elkridge, MD is a waste of my time and money. they nickle and dime you for everything; e.g., about $90 to re-image my old laptop (that I bought at the same store) onto my new laptop is ridiculous. Further, to NOT have all the operating systems of products they sell is completely ridiculous. I returned an ACER laptop within a few weeks of purchase after the OS crashed and Geek Squad told me they could not fix it because they did not have the OS and it was my responsiblity to get it. I do NOT recommend this tech support package at this particular store. Waste of time and $$.

Poor set up in the store for Geek Squad

I waited and hour and a half and still did not even register my laptop for fixing. Some people in the lane behind me got their issue resolved while I was still waiting. After that long wait I got a refund and left the store and got my laptop fixed by another provider and at about two thirds of the cost! I will try not to do any business with the Port Charlotte store in the future. The Sarasota store was much better and better organized. I would not recommend to anyone the Geek Squad service especially the Port Charlotte store!

Overall the product is just fine, however the buying experience at the store was horrible, too many employees standing around doing nothing while customers needed help, not thrilled with getting pawned off from one employee to the next, what should have taken but a few minutes turned out to be a few hours. More in likely will not pay patronage to this merchant ever again.

I live in the country and don't get into town, Birmingham, that often. It will cost $50 if they come to my house. I just wanted to know how to set up my email contacts, and I guess that was the wrong question. Couldn't help me.

Brought in a crashed 8 year old computer for evaluation. Told I had to buy the Tech Service agreement for three computers even though I only have one. Took 4 days to get a call back. Had to call them 3 times whereupon I was told it was almost ready but still no call. Eventually went in to claim it but told it would be ready the next day and they'd set up an appointment--I didn't want an appointment, I wanted a working computer which I finally got after 8 days. Service personnel were not courteous over the phone or in person at the store. Extremely disappointed to the point that I will not return to Geek Squad for any problem.

Sometime ago, and after much trial and error, the Geek Squad installed our simple Windows office network. So, when we had an issue with a workstation I took it to them. After paying for a service contract, I was told that as we had updated the PC with an SSD and the needed IDE/SATA card and as Best Buy does not "handle" (sell) either and as he thought that was the problem, there was nothing he could do. I took the PC to a local shop and in 10 minutes the problem was diagnosed and was fixed, for a fraction of the cost of the "service contract". Really sorry to see the problems Best Buy is having, but I think I can guess why...

The day I bought my computer, the Agents were said they were "too busy" to be able to do anything with my new purchase. They suggested to the salesperson that I just "bring the computer in" on another day. 4 weeks later, have I taken it in yet? No. Maybe I should have gone to one of the other 2 Best Buys within 15 miles of me to buy the computer; rather than to the one I went to (which in the past, had given me pretty good service). I am just not a "happy camper" in regards to this purchase.
