I always have my doubts about adding extras to my purchases but after talking to the rep about being able to use it to fix up to 2 additional computers I went ahead and got the tech support and I'm glad I did. They were able to answer any questions I had about the laptop and they got my desktop working again (it would of cost about $300 having a seperate technician look at and repair..I know I looked into it most charge $69-150 to just look at it not including cost to repair or worse to backup and reinstall) I will most likely buy this with every electronic I buy. The agents are knowledgeable, professional and friendly.

Thank you SO much for saving my computer. I know for a laptop its getting up there in age (5 years). The "Geek Squad" member gave the virus I caught a 9.5 out of 10 and they were able to remove all 4 strands of the virus and none of my files were touched. Pictures of my wedding and some of the last pictures I got with my Father, ALL my itunes, paperwork and other important files! They were ALL intact! Thank you so so so much for answering questions and fixing my computer. The price was well worth it. Thank you again SOOOOOOOO much!

For our most recent technology purchase we have not yet needed to use the Geek Squad Tech Support. In the past I have had mixed results using the Geek Squad: one experience was online and very good, and one was at a store and was very bad and costly (I was told I need a new battery, so I bought one. Then told I needed a new charger, so I bought one. Then told the dongle receiver on the computer was broken and that it was cheaper to buy a new computer. This was all within 48 hours and no refunds were given for the unnecessarily purchased products).

Geek Squad messed up my email functionality

I purchased a Geek Squad Tech Support membership for $99.99 in early July 2015. I wanted them to add gmail to my MS Outlook software, and ensure that two emails could function there without problems. At first things seemed OK. I moved later that month and had Geek Squad come to my home to set up my computer and ensure that I had connectivity. I mainly purchased the membership to get the reduced rate of $49.99 on a home visit, and decided to stay with them for the $10 a month fee in case I had any problems the next few months. .
Wow. Did I have problems. My system started crashing, I was losing emails and having trouble sending and receiving emails. So I call Geek Squad and quickly learn that the wait times are ridiculous. I recently called at 9:00pm and was told the wait time was 3 hours. That was pretty standard. I called at 10:00am on a Sunday morning, let them remote into my computer, and between wait times and having to change agents they were still working on my computer at 9:00pm. THEY LOST ALL MY CONTACTS. Emails started deleting and disappearing...........that's right; I can't find them anywhere. My computer is a MESS thanks to the Geek Squad. I canceled my membership yesterday. I don't think any of them know how to fix the mess they created, and I have to hire another service to clean it up.
I have used Geek Squad in the past for things like in-home new computer set-up with no problem. But I have been extremely disappointed with them these last two months and am quite angry over the problems they created. Some important emails were permanently deleted, to say nothing of my lost contacts. I now have to spend more time and money fixing the mess created by Geek Squad.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I purchased the extended warranty and protection plan for my new Mac. The serviced I received from the Geek Squad Techs were decent. I needed to have Windows 8 installed on my Mac for work, and they offered to do this and get info off of my damaged Macbook Air. It took 3 days to get my computer back because they were having issues with Bootcamp. I would have liked a phone call letting me know what the issues were because I needed my computer for work. I ended up purchasing Parallels and everything now works very smooth. Overall I had a decent experience with my Tech.

Bought the tech support. Because it supports 3 computers had them fix my old desktop that had a virus. My boyfriend's computer had a problem and they helped him fix it. Working great and his virus is gone. Kept the support for the third one for my new laptop when needed.
Boyfriend took his computer to office depot, said they could not fix it. Sold him a new one, Paid someone else to fix it. Still not working. Called the Geek Squad and it is fixed. Best investment ever.

I have had them install some software that I couldn't get transferred to my new computer and they did it and in good time. It took longer to stand in line than it did for them to install my software. I didn't realize that there was an extra charge ($75 maybe) to transfer all my stuff; but I believe Apple does that too by requiring you to have one-to-one to transfer

As someone that is lacking in my computing technical abilities, I needed a support team that recognized not only what needed to be addressed, but any associated area that could, would, or should be affected. I have had numerous dilemmas w/ adding devices, software, applications, & preforming tasks that I was not technically capable of. There has not been a single occassion or problem that the Geek Squad has been unable to resolve w/ the uttermost professionality. They have had the patience to teach me how to do what I needed to, to accomplish the task @ hand. Their knowledge & expertise is second to none, unless you have access to a computer sceince engineer at the ready, to resolve any & all issues 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Give them the opportunity to resolve any & all your quandry's, & let them impress you the way they have impressed me. You will not be disappointed.

I bought a new a new laptop and had the old laptop cleaned to give to my mother. The techs did a good job fixing the old laptop and transfering the data over, but they took about a week to do the entire process. On top of buying a new computer and the tech support membership, I was still charged an additional $85 plus tax for the to transfer all the data over (which wasnt much, just music). But the cleaning of the old laptop was free with the membership. All in all, it does cover 3 computers and seems to be worth the value.

I have not used them yet, except for preparing my computer to go home. That in itself was wonderful. It saved me a lot of time. They did all of the PC setup and restore with Kaspersky; installed MS Office under GSTS, and had it ready on time to go home! Handed me a list of my product keys. How wonderful. I have done this job myself in the past and it took me days to complete. Need I say more? They saved me days in time. I could immediately start work.

I contacted them for a general question about removing bloatware and ended up getting a full tune up and more information about what the service covers. The agent was professional,responsive, and informative. Since I don't really understand computers, it's great to have a team of "Geeks" in my corner. I'd give them a perfect score for thoroughness, but since I don't know about computers - how would I really know how thorough they are. I'm giving them near perfect because my experience was terrific.

Geek Squad moved data from old pc to new, but had to find several files. Went to upgrade to Windows 8, had in for several hours and lost some software, and 8 not working right. Asked to be returned to Windows 7, took days and re-installing several programs. Did not work, took back, re-did drive to 8 and then re-installed most programs and data. Finally trying Windows 8 and learning, appears things are working right.

I bought a new computer and had the data transferred from my old one. Apparently there was not a total transfer of data. The old one crashed the next day (may have been caused by the transfer?) so I had only a partial transfer on my new computer and an old one that didn't work. I had to replace the hard drive on old computer so there was no way to get missing stuff transferred. I don't know if there was anything that could have been done, but nobody told me there was a problem during the initial transfer.

I've had nothing but great experiences so far with the Geek Squad -- both in-store and on the phone. I'm not a techie but am an competent user. I don't have time to learn how to troubleshoot my PC. I'd rather call an 800 number and get an expert to sort it out for me right away so I can move on. That's exactly what the Geek Squad has been for me so far -- fast, effecient and friendly expert solutions and advice -- my personal Help Desk without the corporate BS!

I have used Geek Squad services and have been (almost) always satisfied. The folks are always friendly and are typically very knowledgeable. As of late I have found that help can take a rather long time as the technicians try to juggle more than one call at a time. This on occasion has had me on-line for hours while the tech bounced between my problem and the other guys. Unless you are someone who knows a lot about operating systems and trouble shooting this is a very handy service.

Everyone of them has gone above and beyond the call of duty to assist me and help me whenever I have had a problem. Online support had to install what store didn't

Had hard drive installed and store geek squad did not use the 4 recovery disks to restore the computer to how it was when I bought it. Had to contact the online tech support to get computer software and drivers installed that should have been on the 4 recovery disks I had paid to have made by Best Buy when I first purchased the computer. Online support was great and they were able to access my computer from home over the internet to do a tune up and install the drivers needed.

So very pleased with this added support. I knew going from windows to apple I would have lots of questions and the tech support is at my fingertips! Love it! It covers 3 computers and that is a blessing in my case... My windows computer broke as soon as I hooked up my Mac... I had great timing.... Brought that computer to geek squad at NO CHARGE! The tech support is a MUST HAVE!

Have had problems connecting so agent can view my screen. They are unable to help if they cannot do this. I actually solved my own problem while waiting on hold by using Google. When the agent came back they told me I'd have to take it into a store when really it was just a Windows setting. When they have had to do work on it it while I'm not watching it is very difficult to know what they have done. There is no response to follow-up emails requesting details.
