I tried calling the Geek Squad with a question and was placed on a 20 minute hold. My phone timed out in a couple of minutes and broke the connection. Not sure if I ever could actually contact a real person on Geek Squad.
I finally figured out the problem myself.

Took our laptop and desktop to Geek Squad and left it for 10 days. While it was there, they were supposed to check the computer over and add RAM to the laptop and replace the video card in the desktop. When I picked them up, they had upgraded the video card and not told us. They expected us to pay the difference and they had also installed a battery without telling us. Both of these were price-matched and we did not pay for them after complaining. As for the laptop, when they returned it to me, I got it home and the wireless card did not work. After 4hours online with Geek Squad, they told me that the tech had shorted the wireless card and I had to bring it back to Geek Squad. They told me it would be another 10 days! I temporarily fixed the wireless card with an external one, but have to find the 10 days to bring it back to Geek Squad.

The Geek Squad is the best service available anywhere. I highly recommed it to anyone having PC problems. I had tried some of the online services to repair, but was never totally satisfied. But with the Geek Squad I couldn't be happier with the service, time frame, instructions I received, and for the price for one year of service. I don't know what could be better. I will likely extend my service contract as I have added two tablets to my equipment list. Keep up the great work and service Geek Squad.

I actually bought the three year plan. Covers all my machines. Agent Tom at Appleton Kensington worked for hours to remove Cryptoblocker virus (really nasty) and treated me really well. Can't imagine what I would have paid on an hourly basis. Great value if you have even one problem with your software.

Geek Squad Support was the best investment I have made in a long time. I didn't have to go into the store. I was able to call and get connected with an expert over the phone, and then online tech support rep Nancy H. who was very knowledgeable, friendly, and got my computer working again. It was nice she took her time with me. Great customer service, and service. Thank you so much, I will recommend to all my friends. Thank you!

I am very pleased with the service provided by the Geek Squad. When I got my new computer, it was running Windows 8 and I had never used it before and it's VERY DIFFERENT from Windows 7.
I had a problem with getting my e-mail set up and I had tried everything I knew how to do. So I called the support line and talked with an agent who took control of computer and fixed the problem in about 20 minutes. He had to download a certain "windows link" program that I would have never figured out.
Also, by purchasing this support, when I bought a new computer, it covered the charges to swap out a video card, BluRay DVD reader and a power source. All that was included in the contract!
So, in just a few words: GET THIS, IT'S GOOD!

I purchased the tech support with my new laptop, I'm not one to usually by the "extras" with things like that but I decided I would give it a try. What do you have to lose? You can try it all out for 30 days! I called Geek Squad 4 times and took the computer in the store once, within that 30 days. They were great every time I dealt with them. I also like the fact they will help with 3 devices....2 besides the one I purchased, the old computer is the thing I needed the most help with! It cost a good bit but I feel I will get my moneys worth over 2 yrs time and I love the peace of mind.

Seriously - how have I lived all these years without these brilliant young lads is beyond me. I have called numerous times, with a wide array of issues, but try as I might, I cannot stump them! They know everything about everything, and if you can't keep up with them, they do some magic trick that allows them to remotely access your device! It's kind of creepy-cool, I must say - but they have not failed me so far. You really can't put a price on piece of mind - I bought the extended 2-yr service, and I have no doubt they will be worth every penny! Thanks Geek Squad!
You have to pay for house calls ($50), but you can bring your ailing unit to the store for free (during normal business hours - no 24-hr emergency room :(

I had inherited a virus on my Toshiba laptop. I knew the minute I downloaded it that it was a virus, but it was to late. So I fiddled around with it but due to lack of time, my judgement got the better of me and I took it to the local best buy to have the Geed Squad look at it. So I paid for the whole years service, which came with a new subscription to an antivirus of my choice. So I chose to go with different antivirus software and was told that it would be downloaded onto my computer during the repair. I told them that it was a looping virus, meaning that I could take it off myself but it kept replicating itself under another name on my computer, so it kept coming back. I told them that I can see all my files (pictures, music, documents) on my computer, but I can't get access to them because of the virus blocking me from having access. It took less than 10 hours before they called me to come pick it up. They told me that they took 9 viruses off, so I thought great, I will come and pick it up. Got my computer home and realized they hadn't done anything to fix it. They removed the 9 viruses from my computer, had turned off my Norton antivirus and windows defender leaving my computer unprotected. Didn't install the new antivirus software, and I still couldn't access anything on my computer. After an hour of fixing it myself I called them to tell them this and to request a refund. They told me that best buy and the Geek Squad don't offer refunds, even though they didn't do anything to fix the problem. I would not ever recommend this service to anyone. I was smarter than they were.....just didn't have the time initially to fix it myself which will never happen again, and i'm still stuck with a years worth of service I will never use.

Geek Squad saved my computer

My home computer anti-virus was disabled by malware and I ended up with over 1500 viruses. The Geek Squad saved my computer and the one year support plan has been great. I've been able to have tech support remote in to my computer from home to load additional software so I don't have to pack up everything and take it in to the nearest Best Buy store. Really convenient.

So far, the tech support has been great. I bought a new Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, so was able to have $100 off the price. I brought in my old laptop to be restored, and it's working great. I realize now some of the stuff I lost, I should have had backed up, but that's my fault!
Good to know the Geeks are there for me whenever I need them.

It was a great purchase to go with. I love the Geek Squad and everything they have helped me with since I purchased the 1 year membership. I was also glad that they work on computers that I already had before I purchased the membership. There was an issue with my mother's computer, which I was borrowing, and they were able to fix it. I was able to give the laptop back in perfect condition when I saw her again.

Geek Squad is great, our computer was having problems, we took there and they had it fixed fast. Agent Palmer took our computer and explained the problems we were having, he was very nice. Agent Michael was there when I picked it up, he helped put my quickbooks and a few other things back on it, he was very nice also. I am super happy with Geek Squad :)

I'm new to Windows 7.
I've called tech support half a dozen times. The agent has always tried to understand my problem/question and has dug into it to resolve it. Success each time so far and I've learned stuff going through the process.
It's saved me hours and hours and I don't know where I would have found much of the info anyway.
On XP I didn't need this service. On 7 I couldn't get by without it.

We have already taken two of our old computers to be cleaned and checked out. The Geek Squad was able to tell us that both were beyond repair. We paid for one to upgrade the hard drive when they realized the mother board was going out. They removed the new hardware and did not charge any extra for it. Then we bought a refurbished computer from Best Buy and they transferred the information from the old computer to the new one as part of the original work.

I bought a new laptop and added the Geek Squat support just in case I ran into issues. BB took my old laptop and cleaned it up and optimized it so I can hand it down to a family member. They were great, and I had to use two locations due to time constraints and travel. I highly recommend the Geek Support.particularly if you are not real computer saavy.

I only had it for 1 month now. it is for 3 computers. You can call any time or stop by the store. Important is to not forget about it and take full advantage of it. It is for user support as well as technical support and can include changing the battery, the charger, but you have to get it done. It also included the internet security software. I had some questions about Windows 8 and they guided me through.

I liked the idea that I could bring another computer, but I thought that my computer would be covered by the contract that I had paid for when I bought the computer. Was not happy that I had to spend so much money for this contract.

I was referred to Best Buy by my son. I went in the store to buy a new HP Laptop. I started looking at other brands and comparing different things about them, plus with the help of one of your techs, he helped me make up my mind which one I wanted to buy. I ended up buying the Toshiba. I absolutely love it! It does everything I was looking for. I also purchased the 1 year tech support and hardware/software warranty. I hope I never have to use it, but nice to know it's there if you do need it. I am a satisfied customer!
