    They were very friendly from recommending what to buy and differences in products to completion of setting up the product for use. That was the new one. My old laptop and computer they saved from a disastrous update from another Internet security product and got me going on those two again in less than a week, all 3 were done. Very good for what I needed.

    Need more help to understand what Squad does!

    I would recommend Geek Squad. I think the squad needs to be proactive in contacting me personally for me to talk one on one about issues. To work with me on PC from their computer to explain what to do!

    Correcting a sound problem with my iPad

    The Geek Squad was very helpful in correcting a problem I had with my iPad. They had already initialized my new laptop and I mentioned a problem I was having with the iPad (which I just happened to have in the car). I retrieved it quickly when they said they would take a look at it. In just a matter of minutes the problem was discovered and corrected.

    The Geeks that I have worked with have been extremely helpful. Their explanations and directions were easy to understand and follow. They did not make me feel dumb or inadequate as they answered my basic, beginner-type questions. I felt empowered and a bit more confident after speaking to them. They are wealth of information and much appreciated.

    I was told an 8 am appointment, and now it is 10 am. I am still waiting and just received a phone call finally after 3 phone calls to the geek squad, telling me I will have to wait at least 30 minutes more for service. There are other places that do this for a lot less, and no aggravation. Don't use this service.

    I can call them for anything! I have experienced some difficulties during school, business, and fun and recreation with my laptops, ipad, and desktops..through it all Geek squad was there. Wonderful!

    After the frustration of dealing with tech support that was inferior and likely contributed to even more computer problems, I switch to the Geek Squad and got my computers up and running. I think I have dealt with every one of the members at the Cerritos store in tech support and we all worked well together, considering I had a lot of problems.

    Used the Geek Squad to help setup my new computer. Also used them to remove viruses off an old computer at no charge under the membership! They are very helpful and polite. Purchased the membership for discounted price when purchased new computer and it was well worth it.

    I have used my Geek Sqd membership sveral times to get my new computer running and to fix the old computer. Without this support i would never have been ale to accomplish getting the new system running or fixing the old one.

    I find the Geek Squad is very helpful as well as patient in all my questions since I am not a techie. They took time to answer all my questions. They were friendly and helpful when I had an old computer having trouble and when I needed a new computer I had bought set up.

    After setting up online, I contacted them to clean up my computer. It took about 3 hrs to remove the malware & viruses, & to update everything. It is really grea t to have it running like new

    This is a great deal. Having several computers in our household, it is nice to know that we are covered for any issues. It seems like there is always something wrong with 1 of the computers.

    Over all my experience was good. I took it to one place and the people were not very helpful and my computer wasn't fix. I took it to another place and they were great and fixed everything

    Worst Service, Worst Call Waits, Worst Program

    I bought a monthly protection plan back in 2012 for an iPhone 4S for my college-student daughter, and the phone has had to be replaced now 3 times for defects within the phone. Each time, the phone has to go to a store (in the suburbs, by the way, far from her urban school) to be seen by the Geek Squad. The store has to take the phone, and they have to order a replacement - which is always a refurbished phone. Then, 3-5 days later, you the customer, or in this case my daughter without a car, are burdened with making a 2nd trip to the store. No phones mailed to customers. The onus is on YOU, the customer, to return to the store (which my daughter has now had to do 3 times, to take the phone and then go back to get the replacement). Keep in mind that the guys who make the 4S and standard carrier warranty programs replace defective phones on the spot in their stores, even (and especially) when the phone is covered by an extended warranty. This plan, no such luck. Oh, an when calling Geek Squad for service info, you get sent to the stores, and the Geek Squad tells you the store has to determine "availability," which is a joke, because there never, ever is availability for a replacement. It always takes 3-5 days, like clockwork. However, if you want to BUY a phone, then the stores have stock that they can produce, as if by magic. Again, compare this to the competition, where the carrier stores or phone-maker retailers will gladly produce an actual phone, while you're standing there. This morning, the store told my daughter they would even "white glove" the refurbished phone. What did they mean by "white glove"? They'd actually TEST it to make sure it worked. Otherwise, they just hand it to you and declaim any responsibility for it, until you return and they get to trot out the 3-5 day mantra and force you to make ANOTHER trip to the store. Look up what other retailers mean by "white glove." It's way different than what Best Buy means. As for calling the Geek Squad number: Yesterday I spent an hour waiting for and talking to a representative, trying to get them to either physically send a phone to my daughter or to guarantee with a store that they will have one on-hand, as this is the third defective phone, all of them refurbished. Well, the rep refused to check with a store; I escalated to a supervisor, who did call a store and let me speak to the store directly. The store said they would "take care of it" and "junk out" the defective phone. Well, once at the store, the manager said, again, the phone would be replaced in 3-5 days and had to be sent (wait for it ...) to a store, not directly to the customer. Again, the customer owns the burden of going back to the store. This morning, my first call was to cancel the warranty. I wanted a refund and asked to speak to a supervisor, 8:35 into the call. I was told the supervisor would take the call "directly" and that there would be "no wait." I listened to the transferred call ring for 9 minutes before hanging up. I finally canceled the account, long, long after I should have. Simply put, the stores are unhelpful and actually make the customer do the work to bring the defective phone and then come back (3-5 days later, every time, all the time) to pick up its replacement. Geek Squad phone service is awful, with constant long wait times and a scripted directive that all phone issues have to be dealt with at the store, where all you'll do is wait and then have to come back, of course, later to pick anything up. Save your money here. Don't do it.

    Extremely disappointed in Tech Support so far

    I purchased the Tech Support with my new laptop, mainly for the fact that I was told I could bring my old computer in for a diagnostic clean-up and I figured that was worth the price right there. But since I purchased the support, I've tried using it for some questions and help. Although all the agents have been extrememly polite and pleasant, I don't feel like any of them really know what they are talking about and I have had 2 instances where the answers I was given were clearly incorrect. One agent told me because I had an older flash drive, that it was bulkier than the ones currently sold and I would need to use a USB extension lead/cable to move files from one computer to the other. The real problem was that my USB port was just a little tight and the flash drive fit just fine - I had just been afraid to push too hard for fear of breaking something. Today I "chatted" with an agent who told me that the the way my function keys worked could not be changed - that was just the way it was with the computer model I had purchased. After disconnecting with him I "chatted" with an HP Support agent who gave me simple instructions to fix the problem - something the Geek Squad Agent told me could not be fixed (after first suggesting I take it back to the store to be looked at). He also wasn't much help with a few other questions I had and I don't have much confidence in the answers he gave me. Overall I am extremely disappointed with the Geek Squad team - in fact the agent who helped me the most was actually a contractor and didn't even work for Best Buy. I would definitely not opt for Tech Support if I were to buy another computer - I don't feel that it provides any benefit for the money paid.

    The agents offered great advice on what to coverage to get in the event something bad happens. I had to buy 2 separate plans (software and hardware). It would be nice if they combined them instead of choosing what to get. With my luck, I get something that I don't really need and what I didn't get is what I regret not getting...

    One year membership covers three devices. That makes for cheap insurance. We had a fairly long wait time to be seen, but our units were repaired and returned to us sooner than expected.
