I was informed at the store, that EVERYTHING would be set up for me. The tech, i found to be rude, until he found out that we had a military connection. He only set up my computer, he didn't fix my other computer, told me i'd have to call another order in...totally disappointed

Awful experience with GeekSquad - Laptop Junkout

After asking geeksquad to junkout my laptop when the motherboard died for the 3rd time, it was fixed and sent back to me a week later...and broke again the next day. I came in again, they sent it out again, and it took more than a week for them to approve the Junkout. I explained that not having my computer meant that I was losing business, and after 2 weeks without my laptop I wanted to go to MicroCenter. As though they didn't hear me, they re-explained their policy, that I would get store credit for my purchase...meaning I would have to KEEP dealing with them. I spoke to several managers, until one finally said that they would try to get me a better laptop, and offered me a difference of approximately $300 to buy a new laptop. This sounded great, until they told me that they $300 warrenty I had purchased the laptop for expired when they junked out my computer, AND, when i saw their store credit amount, it was for the current value of the computer, about $200 less than what I had originally paid. Additionally, when the computer first broke, GeekSquad asked me if I wanted to do a data backup, not realizing it was an SSD. Do people at GeekSquad seriously not know that they can't do an SSD backup in Store?

My laptop performs worse after service han before. I called in to cancel the Tech Support, but was told I would have to come inin person -- a 25-mile roundtrip from my home -- at today's high gas prices! So, I filed a dispute with my Credit Card Company. Report pending.
On the next question below, I would recommend the product, YES, but the service, NO.

When the system restore was done the agent apparently went off the job and I was left sitting not knowing what to do next. This was frustrating and I felt I was not taken care of.
