Geek Squad Virus Protection

I had virus protection through Geek Squad. I auto renewed 2 weeks before it expired. It expired on 7/30 at 12:01. The renewal did not begin until 7/31 at 12:01 - 24 hours without protection and I got a virus. When I called I was pretty much told (after 4 hours on the phone and chat support) it would start at midnight and there was nothing that could be done. When I asked why my service had to be interrupted, no one could give me an answer. I basically figured out through things i was told (by the 9 different customer service reps I spoke with), that it was a software error. But no one could fix it. Twice I asked to speak with a manager and TWICE I was put on hold for 15 minutes to be told a manager was not available to speak with me. I canceled my virus software on all 8 of my computers and went with a different company. I will never use Geek Squad for ANYTHING ever again.

Tech support took forever to repair my laptop

The geek squad at the Frederick MD store is understaffed so they'de start and stop and start and stop the repair on my laptop. They promised repair in one week but the repair took nearly three weeks. It got to the point where I had to come in daily for the better part of a week to cajole them into finishing the repair on my laptop. I complained to the manager but he blew me off. I will not use Best Buy geek squad again, I am switching to Staples tech support.

Needless to say that Best Buy has lost a customer for life. Purchased this service to figure out a problem that I could not solve. Even after giving detailed explanation of what had already been done all they did was to repeat what had already been tried (only less so) only to discover nothing. Refused to give refund for non-fulfillment of contract.

The worst service I have ever had!

I took my Dell laptop computer (my life!) into the Williston Best buy to install some volume and sound, the computer had no sound whatsoever.
I took it in monday and it was taking a long time, so I asked my dad to call see how it was going. On wed, they haven't even touched it and couldn't get in because of the password. You would think these people would try to press space when this _ is in the written password. They didn't even call to confirm or to get the password approved. They said they could get in and reset the password. They said it would be done in two-three days. Okay, I went in yesterday, Saturday, at 5 and guess what? They still hadn't touched it! I am so mad right now and I need that laptop! Finals are coming and I need to work on my final projects. I will never use their services again, its not worth it! This just gives me more stress than I need in my life!

Worst place ever. Nothing but HORRIBLE customer service from 3 stores. Caused me to loose all pictures of my kids and not even an apology. Now I find out they didn't give me a Sprint phone, it's for another provider!!!! Never going here AGAIN!!!!

I took my computer in for a specific set of problems. When I picked it up, all the tech told me is that it will connect to the internet now. That was never my problem, and all the issues I was having when I spent the 199 bucks are still there. It is far enough away to get to Best Buy that it has not been convenient to drive up there, then wait a week to go back after it. I am very dissatisfied!!!! I don't know that I will even take my other two computers in, even tho this plan covers them too.

We went in to use the Geek Squad Tech Support. The check in process for our computer seemed easy. However, when we came back to pick it up the employees at our location were standing around talking amongst themselves instead of helping us and the long line of customers behind us. When the manager came to get the employees working, they didn't know the technological answers and had to rely upon the expertise of one employee. It took well over an hour and a half to get the help we needed which should have taken 5-10 minutes.

Scheduled and confirmed my appointment. No call, and agent never showed up. Called customer service and they only offered to give me another four hour window to wait in. Not impressed. I will try staples or compUSA support next time to see if they are any better.

I only got suckered once into buying their service. You pay for a service and they sell you at first that they will fix any problem in the extended warranty you buy. Come to find out they fix the absolute minimum and they don't get your computer back to you for two weeks or longer and it's still not fixed. I will NEVER buy their service again. I think I would even turn their service down if it was free.

they said they would clean out the virus in my lap top and I could go home and put my back up system back in. they cleaned it out and I could not put my back up system in. called microsoft they fixed it the right way over the internet while I waited at home. cost myself more money,but they fixed it right.

Geek squad had indicated what they were going to do. When I picked up the machine 3-4 days later, brought it home, I barely recognized my desk top. When I attempted to do some of the things I was concerned about when I bought the service, nothing had changed! It wasn't repaired. When I consulted with the local service they told me to bring it back in. I am 30 miles away and expected things to be corrected the first time!!!!

They diagnosed my computer said it was the motherboard, ok thats fair, how much to fix it well for $80 more dollars we will ship it someplace and they will tell you how much it will cost you. So in otherwords these guys can't fix anything and don't know how much it will cost. What good is the tech support then.
Now since then I figured out it will be to expensive to fix, but glad I didn't pay the extra $80 to ship it. And best buy lost a customer, I will shop else where, since this I have bought a new desktop and my fiancee a laptop elsewhere. Was also looking for a new tv and entertainment system will love for that elsewhere too.

In trying to get the Windows 8 "File History" to work I called several time and got "disconnected" 4 times. Never did get Windows 8 File History to work.
