Geek Squad provides a good service but they don't stock everything. I would have thought on a late model (brand new) laptop they would have the RAMM needed to replace some defective memory. They are excellent at follow up and providing status of my work order.

The staff at Geek Squad failed to create an "order number" for the refurbished laptop we had purchased when it was dropped off for simple service work (note: it was dropped off on the day of purchase).
Secondary to this "order number" not being created, the laptop was misplaced by staff members. We were informed, hours later (an extablished p/u time per the employee who had made the sale) that 1) the computer had never been received by GS staff & as a result, no work had been done.
It took a few hours (and us returning to the store) to encourage staff to 1) locate the computer & 2) get the work completed.
Needless to say, this experience did NOT instill a sense of security regarding future service work needed on this laptop or any other device in our household.
Note: we did receive an e-mail apology (after a poor review was e-mailed to the store). That is, if you consider the words, "This has nover happened before. I don't know how this happened," an apology.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I started programming in 1969 and have done my own hardware and software fixes for years. Now I would rather have things fixed fast so I can spend my time working on my real business, not my support equipment or software, especially during my busy season.

they have helped a lot and are very polite when I went to the store in chesterfield I was not pressured in any way. I liked this they let me know what they could do explained the cost and let me choose what I thought what was best to do within my budget

I think that Geek squad that worked on my computer was AWESOME!! They found my problems and was able to make suggestions for fixing two of my computers . Suggestion of better software to what I had and suggestions to keep me up and running for a long time.

I had recently purchased a Samsung laptop and installed webroot on it for virus protection and I guess this is where I must have messed up?!?! I somehow got a virus on my system, no thanks to their recommend webroot anti-virus. When running the anti-virus, it was unable to remove or quarantine. I brought it back to Best Buy, mind you, this laptop is only 6 mths old; and paid $200 for them to "fix" it. As per my request, "Don't remove the OS system, fix the virus." I was told it would be 21 day max and I would have it back. I use my laptop as my only computer. I am a senior at Gonzaga University, so its imperative I have my laptop. After two weeks, I CALLED THEM, for an update. They had no news only the generic, "ya its on the computer", hows that for ironic. By week three, same thing, I CALLED THEM, I hope by now you can see the customer service issue; and got the computer response again. I never was able to speak to a technician with regard to NEW information. By week four I was absolutely ready to ditch the computer, spend another $1000, obviously somewhere else, and move on with my life. Then the day came, "Hey, so we can't remove the virus and have to wipe out the OS system." Awesome, right! The one thing the #@%$ing manual says to do if you get a severe virus. NOT HAPPY!!!! What then, did I spend an additional $200 dollars for, its not the service, I could have done that, they didn't listen to me, never called and worst of all when I picked up the laptop.....THERE WERE NO TECHNICIAN NOTES AS TO WHAT THEY, (PAUSE CAUSE YOUR ANGRY) , ACTUALLY DID! I'm not an idiot with computers, I run a web-based e-commerce business, so you might think I know just a little. PLEASE, DON'T USE THIS SERVICE.

I purchase the tech support with the intension of having a piece of mind for my new computer. But I was hoping to transfer my music(I Tunes) from my old PC to my new MAC and have the geek squad do it. Three different peaple at geek squad said they would do it with no problems. The reasently I when there with both computer, all the sudden the manager said the could NOT do that. Big waist of time and money.

I brought my laptop into the Concord NH syore, and the Geek Squad associates were GREAT!!!!
Also, my laptop has been working great since.
I have bragged about the service there and also reccomended to friends to get this service.
It`s a no brainer!!!!!

Initial pickup customer service gave me my laptop without checking it. I had to return it because I could not log in. I had to return it three times. My second laptop would not connect to Wi-Fi. No one informed me that I needed a Wi-Fi adapter. Manager compensated me for having to return to the store several times for things that should have been taken care of in the beginning. I would recommend BB to a friend with caution.
