One of the Only Remotes You'll Need

Having bad internet defeats the purpose of a wireless device. It's so convenient when it works with your internet though because some things you just don't want to have to consistently and manually turn on and off, like an air conditioner, or a fan, or a heater. And...it's great to not habe to hoard all the remotes nearby when you can just use your phone as the remote ;)

But for the price it was a good value.

You can switch each individual outlet on/off and name each outlet using the geeni phone app. So u can ask Alexa to turn on just one specific outlet. Extremely convenient and it was super easy to connect with wifi.

Not for putting throughout the house

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unless you are planning on putting these in the same room with, or within one rooms' distance from your wifi, they frequently lose connection which makes the scheduling and mobile use of these obsolete. I put them 2 rooms away and lost connection on them frequently and on one, permanently, until I moved my wifi closer. Kind of ridiculous that you can't really use them throughout your house or that you need to purchase and install wifi boosters/extenders to do so. Unless you don't care about using them for their full potential, if you don't, then they are just an expensive surge protector. Also, they ONLY work on 2.4 wifi, if you don't have that, they will NOT work, no options. I would not buy them again.

Only put about 1000 watts through it. 3 of the 4 caught fire and are melted and brown. the other one just turned browned and smells burned and stopped working. I tried to get in contact with Geeni about replacements, but got no satisfaction and would not put any of these products in my house again anyway.

All Geeni devices are designed to work for 2.4 GHz for a wider range unlike the 5 GHz that cannot penetrate walls and floors. Since most routers nowadays are dual band, you can ask your Service Provider to separate the two networks (2.4 and 5GHz WIFI connections) so they can provide different WIFI names so you can connect your device using 2.4 GHz WIFI connections. Was Good While It Worked
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this plug back in 2021 so I did get a little over two years out of it. However a few days ago the power went out at my house (fortunately not a common occurrence) and now this plug is a decidedly not smart plug. I can still plug things in using it but none of the connectivity works, the reset button does nothing, none of the trouble shooting online works. Nothing else in my house has stopped working so it wasn't like it was a bad power surge. So while this did work for me for awhile I will be replacing it with another brand that can hopefully survive a power outage
