Was expecting better graffics of old games but seems as bad if not worse as the original games, if I could get a refund I would return immediately.

Other than sonic the hedgehog, it was hard to find other genesis classics enjoyable. Thought there were better games available but there wasn’t

This is the third Genesis compilation in as many console generations, so it's a real shame to see extras and controller guides that were included in previous versions removed and replaced with an unnecessary interactive menu screen. Old men like me remember when Phantasy Star II was packaged with a comprehensive hint book, so omitting any kind of game or controller guide seems simply lazy. Good luck divining the technique system in PSIII without online help!
Thankfully, button functions are made clear in the options menu for most games, and the better games in this collection don't require consulting a manual. The deletion of unlockables, like original arcade games, is just plain baffling. The previous edition contained an unlockables
Space Harrier arcade game, which is far, far superior to the Genesis Space Harrier II.
Given that Sega supposedly now owns the rights to the Technosoft developed games, the exclusion of Herzog Zwei and any of the Thunderforce titles is another disappointment.
But, all faults aside, you definitely get $30 worth of Sega classics on this collection, so it's definitely a must-buy for Switch owners.
Just let future anthology developers know that Noone wants to ever see the Genesis versions of Galaxy Force II or Super Thunder Blade again.

Unless you're buying this for the RPGs, skip it.

Before you scroll past this ignoring it because the title sounded absurd to you since there are many, very good games on here like Sonic, Gunstar Heroes and so on, let me start out by saying as of version 1.0.2 there's a sizeable controller lag, joycons attached or not, pro controller, it doesn't matter. There's a good half second delay from press to action. It felt less noticeable in Shinobi 3 but it was very harsh in Sonic 2.
Just to drive this in, I'm not nitpicking this isn't the controller delay you might see someone complain about from using a wireless controller, the lag is genuinely a 1/2 second from press to action.
Making the RPGs the only viable games to play here. Because it's not gonna help in the platformers or the Columns. I have the PC version as well and I don't recall anything like this. So much for getting these games on the go right? :\ Arg
It's annoying to have to write this review because, this should be such an easy thing. There's been so many ports of these games over the years from the PS2, PSP, Wii, PS3/XB360 etc but the Switch version at the very least? The lag ruins it. The collection has been out a while too and I'm not sure this is getting fixed.
Other negatives are, the emulation isn't 100% if you're a snob for that kinda thing. Some sounds are just off sounding. Hitting a sign post in Sonic 1/2 is weird sounding, as is the 1up in Shinobi 3.
It's missing Sonic 3 & Knuckles as well, a very, very notable omission given how it's in many other ports.
As for the games, I mean there's a lot of great games here. Sonic 1 & 2 are great, as are the Streets of Rage titles (even lets you play the japanese version of 3!), Phantasy Star 4, Shining Force 2 and so on.
Just agh, the controller lag seriously ruins this port. As I said it's been out a while so I don't think they're gonna patch this out.

Got it as a Christmas gift for my little brother who's into video games. Wanted to give him a taste of the games I used to play. Obviously I played it with him till my fingers went numb. Took me back, had a fun time and he enjoys it a lot as well.

No Wonder Boy, Sega owes fans an answer.

Where did the 2 Monster Boy (Wonder Boy) games go Sega? Those are 2 of my absolute favorite games. They were removed without a whisper. As if people just wouldn't notice. I had this game pre-ordered until I found out. So Sega removes games available in other version of this game, for what reason? I'd like to know. They ruined this collection.
