BLOWS AWAY ANY ASUS-ROG unit out of the game!

After getting completely 'abused and shafted' by ASUS on an ROG unit [unit sold & shipped with a mfgr's fabrication error (loose fastener which scored the internal boards causing shorts that in turn dammaged fans, CPU, and RAM chipsets) and failing to repair or replace after 1.5 years of good faith efforts on our part] we went looking for a replacement unit. Our daughter is in a high powered 4 year Computer Animation program so this unit needs to be high-end / high performance. This GIGABYTE AERO with the i-7 has been working like a BEAST without so much as a wimper for 2+ months. Really well built (i.e. soild) and has good heat management design and base S/W... nice selection of ports built in as well. The GIGABYTE units are worthy of VERY SERIOUS consideration for a higher end laptop! Given the shoddy workmanship and 0.00% willingness to stand behind their products, we'll NEVER recommend or buy another ASUS product... EVER!

    Great laptop, but...

Best buy either mis-advertised the computer's specs compared to reality, or the warehouse screwed up by sending something different. Instead of getting a non-max-q RTX 2070 and a 144hz screen, I actually received a 240hz screen and a max-q RTX 2070. Nobody in cust. service wants to own up to the mistake for a pretty expensive machine. Pretty disappointing. That being said, the computer itself is pretty nice. Built solid. Arrived with minimal/no bloatware. Form factor is minimal due to tiny bezel width. Keyboard looks and feels nice however takes adjusting of hand position. Mouse is sleek glass and no complaints there. System settings are tricky and not intuitive (eg. difficult when trying to set max battery charge to 80%). Aluminum paint is very easy to scuff or scratch. You basically have to treat the machine with cotton balls to keep it cosmetically pristine. The SD card slot is an afterthought where 60%+ of the card sticks out of the machine. Also, the webcam placement on the bottom is gimmicky to say the least.

Mainly use for photography work and a little gaming. Like it so much that it has a SD card reader with extremely fast speed. I manage to get roughly 8 hours of battery life with screen brightness 75%, which is good. Would definitely recommend this laptop.
