I have not gone back over the original series so I do not know if there is no new original material at all in this OVA but there certainly isn't much if any, this is mostly the Anzio battle from the original series which is a great series and worth watching for itself.

I recently picked this the last time I was in my local Best Buy, and as a fan of the series I was happy to find this available...and amazingly for the price of only $14.99 in store, it actually had an English dub track, plus was both on dvd and blu-ray. Anyway, on to the review: This OVA is all about Oorai vs Anzio which was only talked about briefly (the preparation to face them and then the final outcome) which is a shame because after watching this it was the most enjoyable Sensha-do (Tankery) fight in the series I've seen to date. (I have not yet seen Girls und Panzer der film as the blu-ray release isn't until May here in the states) I always enjoy seeing OVA's that expand on original series in some way and this is one that does just that, plus I think some of the animation team are HUGE Lupin the 3rd fans cause I saw a lot of references to their chase scenes in the tank chases. Like my summary says, if you are a big Girls und Panzer fan, this is almost essential to pick up as it fills in a gap on a battle that they skipped over just to move the story along faster.
