I highly recommend this battery Google Nest camera. The battery when fully charged will last months and it is so easy to set-up. Provides exceptional quality video and history with Nest aware.
Hi there, ChrisJ. We appreciate that you like the functionality of the Nest Cam (battery). We hear your concern about its battery life.
The battery life depends on several factors including activity frequency, temperature, and the camera settings you select. You can extend the battery life of your doorbell by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Check this link for tips on how to save the battery: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10901611

Very disappointed. I have 1GB Wi-Fi speed. I bought this camera a few days ago. I am very disappointed. It is problematic trying to get a live view once battery percentage drops below 70. Also, at night, the video feed is in BLACK AND WHITE, even though there is a bright porch light somefour feet away!!! (What is up with that?) I have a Ring Doorbell located three feeet away; it has no problem providing clear colr video. I am searching for a different camera, as I will probably retun this pathetic device.
Hi trosoft, thanks for posting your feedback about your experience with using the Nest Cam (battery). We’re sorry to learn it’s a disappointment for you, and this is not the kind of user experience we want you to have. We understand your decision to return, but if you’re willing to give us a chance to help, you may visit us anytime at the Google Nest Help page for assistance and guidance: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Read lots of commentary about battery life. Battery life is fine… been using them for weeks and both batteries are still at 70% or better. Video quality and face recognition are excellent.
Hello there, Paul. We’re sorry to hear you're having some trouble with your Nest Cam (battery) detecting and recording events as expected. What your camera picks up depends on your chosen settings. You can customize which events are detected and recorded (people, movement, packages, etc.). Using activity zones to focus on specific areas can also improve things. If you're still having issues, reach out to us anytime and we’d be happy to help you, here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp
