Hi JosephC. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It's great to hear that the image quality is good, but it's definitely not ideal to have to wait for them to load. Easy to set up and view area being covered very few false alarms
Hi there, iliketowatchthings. We appreciate your feedback on Nest Cam (battery). We’re glad that it works great, and we hear your concerns about its battery life.
Your camera could be detecting a lot of activities, as the battery life depends on factors including activity, temperature, and settings that you select. You can extend its battery life by adjusting the settings like the video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Easy to set up but doesn't work with older app if you already had some that you have been using before. I have 5 outside/inside cameras and have to use the newer app but is not as good as the older app from a few years ago.

Easy to use and good quality picture. I have many of these and they work well with the google home app. I recommend the security cable for the ones outside.

Moving from DVR based BRNC cabled cameras, these cameras are really easy to set up and use. It outdoor installation required you will need a power source 15-30ft away along with purchasing the weather rated power cable. For residential use, you can’t go wrong with these. The google home app and plan for $120 a year that records everything is worth every penny. The mounts are magnetic based with an adapter for mounting purposes. Installing indoor in a commercial application would be acceptable. Outdoor commercial installation I'm still pondering that.

Today there are a large variety of security cameras available on the market and it is nice to finally see Google refreshing their cameras to be more on par with their competitors. I definitely feel this refresh puts this camera in line with competitors. Firstly, the aesthetics are a major part of any security camera as it is something visible to everyone. With the nest camera I feel that Google really gave the product more of a modern look. It is not all about the look though as the mounting was extremely easy and the magnetic base is so much nicer than having to mess with screws every time the camera needs charged. The actual function is the other major component where it is not all positive unfortunately. I personally do like how the camera utilizes the Google home app as I am someone entrenched in the Google ecosystem so having the separate nest app has always been a pain. Then when it comes to the actual video quality it is exactly what you would expect from a 1080p camera to which I would rather have the decreased resolution as opposed to having to charge the battery every month if it were 4K quality. The microphone was exceptional though as I was pleasantly surprised with how clear it picked up sounds. As mentioned, the live feed within the app worked perfect along with the video detection. However, the one item that does come across as a negative for me is only 3 hours of previously saved video as I understand Google is attempting you get you to upgrade to a higher subscription, but 3 hours is not even enough to make it through the night. Overall, this is a great product as the asthetics are top notch with the magnetic mount being an exceptional feature and the usability of the app along with the video and microphone quality being wonderful. However, it seems we will have to continue to wait for the perfect security camera as I just can’t give this product five stars with the high price of the initial product that essentially requires an additional monthly subscription to make it fully achieve its intended purpose. Even if the saved playback was just 12 hours for the free subscription I would not hesitate to recommend this product to everyone, but as it currently sits I would still recommend it to the vast majority of people with the caveat of possibly needing to purchase the nest subscription to which this is the case with basically every security camera today unfortunately.

Nest cam is the best for security wireless or batteries cam runs out so fast for some reason every 2 days needs to be recharged again for 24 hours, real pain when u have 6 cams and keep charging
Hi Sam1988G, it’s great to have your feedback on Nest Cam (battery). We hear your concerns about the cameras’ battery life, and we’re here to help.
Besides the camera settings that you select, cold temperatures can also affect the battery life. As the temperature gets colder, the battery life gets shorter. Also, the battery in your camera or doorbell won't charge at temperatures below 32°F (0°C). You can connect your camera to a power outlet using the included USB cable. This will power the camera so it doesn't need to use the battery.
On the other hand, we’d like to learn more about your situation to find out why the battery drains faster than usual, and why it takes 24 hours to charge them. Please contact us whenever you have time using this link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

So easy to set up! And easy app connection from anywhere! I have yet to have an issue logging in and seeing live video. I also signed up for the premium storage online and live that.
Hey there, FredR. Thanks for sharing your concerns about the Nest Cam (battery). We're sorry to hear that your experience with the device didn't meet your expectations. The battery life depends on factors including activity, temperature, and doorbell settings that you select. You can extend the battery life by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events to monitor specific areas. Also, the Nest Cam (battery) is designed with versatility since it’s an outdoor/indoor battery powered device. It can be used with a set of various power accessories including two weatherproof cables with power adapter (sold separately), of 16 ft and 33 ft in length. If you find it more convenient connecting to continuous power that will keep the battery charged, which is required to get 24/7 video history if you have a Nest Aware Plus subscription, we suggest using the weatherproof cable since the included power adapter is not intended for outdoor use.

This was super easy to set up. I put it off thinking I would need to drill holes and mount it but I was wrong. The magnets are very strong and the battery lasts for a month or more depending on how often you use it. The magnet on the base holds very firmly to any metal and the camera attaches to the base with magnets as well and you can position it however you need it. It charges very quickly and lasts a long time.

Good camera overall. I would expect better video quality in 2021 for this price. Battery life is too short as well. In the end I bought 3 and need them so worth it.

Great cameras and easy to setup and use. Only thing I wish is that you could subscribe for 24/7 history with the wireless cameras. It will only work when the cameras are powered with cord.
