Unreliable performance

Expensive product with unreliable and terrible performance. You do not have access to old footage, only seen events. I can walk right past these cameras and half the time never trigger an event. About 80% of the time when you open the home app the cameras say no connection and takes clicking refresh over and over.
I do not have the same issues with my wired cameras however when i add all of my cameras they all start to glitch. My wired cameras will record a few seconds and then say video not available for a few seconds and the footage is basically useless and you’re unable to connect and watch the footage live. Eventually (days later) the footage is magically available. When i remove any 1 camera this stops.
So imagine you hear something outside and want to check out what’s going on. Only to be met with a black screen that says video unavailable refresh for 30-45 seconds. Knowing the device doesn’t pick up events half the time and there is no video history.
Hey there. Thanks for sharing your experience with your Google Nest Cam Indoor/Outdoor wire-free. We’re sorry to hear you’re having trouble viewing the live video of your cameras. Sometimes, you might notice a slight delay between your camera’s live video stream and what’s happening in real-time. This is similar to other video streaming services. If the delay is longer than usual, we recommend checking out this helpful article:https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9259827

I'm not sure why these cameras get such a bad review. After having Blink Cameras for almost a year they started to go out, have connection issues and everything. I can only compare the Nest cam against the Blink cameras, and the difference is night and day. I had a problem with people driving across my lawn, and Blink cameras couldn't activate fast enough to record it. I needed something that has continuous recording and Nest cam has done the job! 24 hours a day recording and smart motion alerts telling me if it's an animal, person or vehicle. That's pretty darn cool to me. Also, with Blink, only one person could view a camera at a time.... that's crazy. If you are viewing your backyard camera, your front yard camera won't work... they don't tell you that in the description. Not with Google. You can monitor all your cameras in real time at once from your phone, Nest Hub or computer! The cameras are a bit pricier, but... you get what you pay for. Most people don't want or need 24 hour recording... I love it!
Nest Cam First Gen is much better although powered

Battery drains fast if in a high movement area, people, cars, etc. Video quality isn’t any better than First Gen. Would have expected more from a company like Google.
Hi there, David. Thanks for your feedback about the Nest Cam (battery). We’re sorry to hear that your experience with the battery life and the video quality is not exceeding your expectations.
We always aim to improve our products, and your experience highlights areas we can address. Motion detection does impact battery life. We recommend checking out the Home app settings to adjust recording frequency and video length to optimize battery usage for your environment. Here's a helpful guide: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10901611
Also, while the Nest Cam (battery) maintains the same resolution as the first generation, it offers improved image processing for better clarity, especially in low-light conditions. You can adjust your camera's video quality for sharper images. Just remember, higher quality uses more internet bandwidth, and your camera will automatically find the best balance between detail and smooth streaming based on your available bandwidth. Would be 5star but google decided to tweak the resolution and brightness with an update. Now the colors are washed out but night vision is very good. Still the cameras work very well have 5 around my house for over 3 years now.
Hello there, Door. Thanks for investing high on Google Nest cameras, and for sharing your feedback on the Nest Cam (Battery). We’re sorry to hear about your experience with its video quality.
You can adjust your cameras’ video quality that can improve the resolution. The higher the video quality setting you choose, the sharper and more detailed your footage can be, but it also uses more of your internet bandwidth. This setting lets you choose the maximum video quality for your cameras. And whichever level you pick, your camera will automatically adjust its resolution and compression according to how much bandwidth is available. Love how easy it is to charge and install. The picture quality is good and I appreciate getting the notifications if it picks up a person. I use it in my backyard.

A Best Buy Tech recently installed our two Google Nest Cams in the front and back of our house. The picture quality is very clear during the day or night. The Cams alert us on our phone if someone comes within range. We are happy to have this added security protection.
Hi Whynotnow, thanks for taking the time to share your insights. It's great to hear that you liked the video quality of Nest Cam (Battery) and that you had an easy time setting it up. We're sorry to hear about the short battery life you are experiencing.
The battery life for Nest Cam (Battery) will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. Users can extend the battery life of their camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Here are some typical scenarios: Busy: About 1 month battery life (About 25 - 30 recorded events per day) Typical: About 2.5 months battery life (About 13 - 16 recorded events per day) Quiet: About 6 months battery life (about 2 - 5 recorded events per day)
We recommend checking the frequency of events (per day) that you get with your Nest Cam (Battery). If the short battery life isn´t related to the frequency of events, then we may need to have a closer look at your device and understand what may be causing it. We'd like to help you further with your support needs if the issue persists. Please feel free to contact any of our support agents here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Easy to use. Great battery life. I wish it integrated with the current Nest app.

Both cameras work well when placed in a good position. They don't last as long as I'd hoped because of the traffic in the areas so I ended up hard writing them to power.

Switched from ring to these and these do not disappoint. Plus when plugged in they record 24/7 of you have a paid subscription. Video quality is also better on these
