We replaced our upstairs and downstairs thermostats with these. Customer service was super helpful in providing customized installation instructions. We did it ourselves in just a few minutes and they worked immediately. I love that I can operate it from my phone or through voice command with my Google Home devices. I can already tell a difference in accuracy. My old thermostats seemed to never be correct and my units would run all the time. These are way better. Also, they apparently are motion activated because they screen lights up when I walk near it. Nice features on being able to set heat and cold at the same time. That's very helpful in a city where you never know from day to day what the weather will be like.

We recently purchased our first home and renovated it before we moved in. One update that was much needed was replacement of the out dated existing thermostat. We debated between a Nest Thermostat or similar competitor brands but ultimately decided to go with the well reviewed Nest! Let me just say that I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. Installation was fairly simple although we did recruit help from our electrician uncle to help (we did not have the required common wire.) Setting up the thermostat and connecting it to WiFi was a breeze! We love that our house stays comfortable and cool but adapts to our daily routine. I especially like being able to monitor it from my phone.

The unit is very easy to install if you have a common power wire and stable Wi-Fi. It is installed in my condo which is vacant a few months of the year. Now I can check on temp and adjust heat or cooling when I am not in the condo. The unit keeps track when it is on. I am looking forward to saving electric cost.

One of the best product for home I’ve ever purchased. Compared to Honeywell Lyric - took about 10 minutes to install and did not require COMMON (blue) wire. Setup was fairly easy as well and it’s really a learning thermostat within a week it did set up a schedule on its own and easily changeable if needed.

I opted for the E version of the thermostat since it was less expensive than the full version, but I do not believe I am missing anything important. The E does not detect motion to know if anyone is home, though thermostats are not always located in areas that could detect motion sufficiently to be useful. (mine is in the hallway, and would never see me during the day) The plastic body does not feel any cheaper than my old thermostat, so having a plastic version is also not a huge loss. Overall, the body feels solid, and the menu system is easy to use. The smoky numbers used for the E that only display when I am in the vicinity of the thermostat is better looking to me than bright numbers. The numbers are visible from several feet away, so I just need to move in front of it to see the temperature setting. The Nest app is easy to use, and the ability to schedule temperatures for the system that change throughout the day is great. I have my home warm up in the morning to wake me up, and cool down at night to facilitate sleep. Each day can be individually scheduled, and the schedule can be set-up/modified on the phone or though a computer. The home-away is nice, though not always reliable since it requires the phone and the app to communicate properly. There have been many days when it did not register me leaving, and it takes time for it to figure out I am home. I found using Google Home routines for work days to change the system to Eco while I am at work more useful than the home-away assist. Being able to check to see if my kids have adjusted the thermostat when I am away from home is also nice, as is adjusting the thermostat through my phone or Google Home without having to get up. Finally, setup is relatively easy if you know some basic wiring. As recommended, take a picture of the old thermostat wiring before pulling wires off. Also, add the labels to the wires as they are being removed. The second one is always easier to install than the first one. And, the face place provided with the Nest will help hide the missing paint behind the old thermostat since the sizes will be different.

This product was very easy to install, and easy to connect to via the phone app! Looks very nice and the features are elegant and simple. Great upgrade!

It is so nice not having to get up and go adjust the thermostat. I just tell Alexa to set the temp and done! It’s also nice to have the scheduled temps set, so I don’t have to get up in a cold environment. The installation and setup was not complicated at all. The manual gave clear instruction and the setup was not bad either. The only issue I have is sometimes the ‘away’ feature doesn’t detect when I’m home. I am not sure if it’s the unit or how I have it programmed. Over all, I am really happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking to automate their thermostat.

If you're looking to jump into the smart home arena, the Nest Thermostat E is a good place to start. With gas and electronic companies providing instant rebates, you can basically get a unit like this for no cost. Installation was easy and I love the display. It's even Amazon Alexa compatible!!

Bought the Nest E while they were having a special. Decided to go on this less frills model because my main goal is to save some money. It was very easy to install and setup, I think it was up and running in about 15 mins with the update it had to do on wifi and so far it pretty much runs itself. I used the app to set up a schedule and now I never have to touch it. Nice thing is it also automatically knows when I'm home and away by my phone gps to adjust the temp. Got it right before the summer started so, it is kinda hard to see if it is saving money yet, but I will be watching closely to the bills compared to last year.

The NEST was fairly easy to set up and operate. We can control it through either a computer or a phone. For the guys who don't like to read instructions (like me), two points to keep in mind. 1) Keep the wiring tucked into the base, otherwise the NEST doesn't sit right and will detach when pressing the face. 2) Simple user interface with two controls. The face of the unit acts like a button when pushed. The outside ring can be rotated and is a selector when there are multiple options to choose from. Overall experience, I really do like the unit. It is sleek and looks good in the hallway.

We took our time and read the reviews of this thermostat. Actually is was just as much as a standard thermostat. Very easy to set up and after a month we are saving a considerable amount of money on heat. Very cool you can set the temperature remotely, highly recommend this thermostat.

i installed this at our beach home. i like to check to make sure we raised the temp when we left, and turn it on before we get down there to make the house cooler. we have the more expensive nest in our other home, but this one seems to be giving us all of the same features we need.

This is my second purchase of the nest. I have looked at other smart thermostats and have been drawn to the best because of the easy functionality and rebates you get from your electricity and gas providers. Very easy to use and it’s bonus that it works with amazon alexa

It's the cheaper version of the smarter nest. It blends in better with my house and It's easy to use. It has the remote functions so what more could I want.

I love this thermostat. Super easy to setup. Super easy to use with the app. Even came with a nice beauty panel. Saves me money and I received a rebate online from my power provider so the price was essential half. I love that I can turn the heater on from work and the house is warm when I get home. I also like that I can turn it of and on from any part of the house. If I wake up on a Saturday and it’s cold in the house I can turn it on. If I am upstairs ready for bed and I want it off I don’t have to go downstairs.
